Biography

A political betrothal strained by Tian’er’s choice

Xue Ao’tian first appears on Heavenly Snow Mountain after Gu Yingbing brings the poisoned Butler before him. Looking like a young, silver-haired man rather than an ancient Saint Land lord, Xue Ao’tian diagnoses the interlocking venom, Divine power, and Dragon Silencing Seal with immediate precision. He can cleanse the poison, though its long duration makes the task difficult, and he uses a self-created Heavenly God Spirit skill to extract and replay Butler’s memories. The images reveal Zhou Weiqing, whose combination of Demonic and Time Attributes forces Xue Ao’tian to reconsider a family decision he had treated as settled. (Chapter 155)

That decision is the marriage of his only daughter, Tian’er, to Gu Yingbing. The rules of Heavenly Snow Mountain do not permit a woman to succeed as Mountain Lord, and Xue Ao’tian has used the betrothal to secure both a male successor and the political balance between the Divine Heavenly Spirit Tiger and Heavenly Divine Earth Spirit Lion bloodlines. When Tian’er returns after leaving with Zhou, he nearly kills her in anger but cannot bring himself to do so. He instead insists on the engagement, torn between paternal attachment, the word already given to the Lion clan, and his responsibility for WanShou’s governing order. Zhou’s rare potential gives him a reason to hesitate, but honor prevents him from simply reversing himself. (Chapter 155)

The formal announcement of Tian’er and Gu Yingbing’s marriage increases rather than resolves the pressure. Xue Ao’tian discovers that Tian’er has become so desperate that she intends to die after the ceremony. Faced with the prospect of preserving his authority at the cost of his daughter’s life, he changes course. When Long Shiya arrives with Zhou to demand a reckoning, Xue Ao’tian adopts WanShou’s principle that might determines legitimacy and creates a series of tests. They preserve his public word and outwardly favor the established fiancé, but they also give Zhou a path to win Tian’er fairly. (Chapters 171–174)

Three trials and the decision to let Tian’er choose

The first test makes the Heavenly Snow Mountain’s beast hierarchy into a trial of bloodline, courage, and endurance. Xue Ao’tian commands increasingly powerful Heavenly Beasts to confront Zhou, adjusting the terms when simple overpowering would no longer measure what he intends. The beasts are raised as the Mountain’s partners rather than held as prisoners, and even the Light Titan Ape guardians answer only to its lord. As Zhou continues to withstand the pressure, Xue Ao’tian’s private judgment moves in his favor: the outsider has demonstrated enough will and potential to be considered worthy of Tian’er. (Chapters 174–177)

The final judge of that first test is Phelia, the Heavenly Snow Mountain guardian whom Xue Ao’tian also regards as his true wife. Her appearance exposes the personal cost behind his public position, including a separation that has lasted roughly twenty years and obligations connected to the Netherworld seal. Xue Ao’tian does not manipulate her verdict; instead, he accepts her authority over the last stage. The encounter also recasts the competition with Long Shiya: when Long first fought the guardian apes, Xue Ao’tian had not yet reached the Heavenly God realm, while he now stands at the summit Long has spent his life pursuing. (Chapters 177–178)

For the second test, Xue Ao’tian seals Gu Yingbing’s cultivation to create an equal contest with Zhou. He personally heals Gu after the first test and continues to protect fairness even though Gu represents the succession plan he originally favored. When the Lion King, Gu Site, violates the imposed limit to aid his son, Xue Ao’tian ends the wedding, strips Gu Site of the WanShou throne, and orders Gu Yingbing to take his place. Gu Site tears off his own arm in punishment; Xue Ao’tian reattaches it with Divine energy but cannot restore the destroyed nerves and meridians completely, leaving a permanent impairment and demonstrating that even his healing has limits. (Chapters 178–180)

The last test removes every external claim and asks whom Tian’er chooses. Xue Ao’tian seals her memories back to the innocence of about age five and allows Gu Yingbing the first chance to awaken her feelings. Gu fails, while Zhou reaches her through their emotional bond and the resonance of Saint Energy. Xue Ao’tian then accepts the result and allows Zhou to take Tian’er away. His reversal is not a rejection of duty but a new conclusion about it: he has preserved a public test, punished interference, and established that his daughter’s choice is strong enough to outweigh the succession arrangement built around her. (Chapters 180–182)

Conditions for a son-in-law

Xue Ao’tian does not abandon his role as father once Tian’er leaves. He requires Zhou to return every three years for a cultivation examination and warns him against letting rapid advancement become arrogance. At the same time, he explains why he cannot treat the Mountain’s authority as a private possession. The WanShou tribes depend on it to restrain internal conflict, and the empire’s war with Zhongtian belongs to a balance larger than Zhou’s immediate grievances. He also refuses to extract a reckless promise concerning Phelia and the Netherworld, preferring that Zhou understand the danger before offering help he may not be able to give. (Chapters 182–183)

Allowing the couple to leave is therefore conditional trust, not withdrawal. Xue Ao’tian gives Zhou responsibility for Tian’er while retaining the right to measure his progress and call him back to the Mountain. The arrangement preserves a relationship between Zhou and the Saint Land without turning his daughter into its political instrument, and it leaves the unresolved Netherworld duty as a future family obligation rather than a demand imposed in the exhilaration of victory. (Chapters 182–183)

A grandchild and a renewed Netherworld warning

Tian’er later reports that her father initially reacted furiously to her pregnancy, then yielded after she coaxed him. Through her, he provides practical knowledge of the Divine Heavenly Spirit Tiger bloodline: such pregnancies can last more than three years, and the unborn child possesses unusually strong defenses. Although Xue Ao’tian is off-page during this exchange, the advice shows him already treating Zhou and Tian’er’s child as part of the Mountain’s family line. (Chapter 263)

The same report carries a graver warning. Xue Ao’tian has told Tian’er that Phelia is a guardian connected to the Netherworld realm and that the family may eventually be drawn into that responsibility. The anticipated grandchild and the inherited seal duty thus enter the story together: one points toward the family’s continuation, while the other foreshadows the danger that can still take Phelia, Tian’er, and Zhou beyond Xue Ao’tian’s protection. An off-page benchmark in a changing Saint Land order

Xue Ao’tian does not personally join Zhou’s Elf Tribe expedition, but his equipment remains a benchmark for the power Zhou is trying to build. His God Vanquishing Heavenly Spirit Set has ten pieces, establishing the scale of a complete Legendary Set, and its appearance is used as the comparison when Long Shiya judges the beauty of Zhou’s newly completed armor. These references do not give Xue Ao’tian actions in the expedition; they show how firmly his established strength defines the standards surrounding Zhou’s next advance. (Chapters 768, 770)

His cultivation provides the other benchmark. The Elven Queen’s existence proves that he is not the world’s only Heavenly God, while Zhou’s evolving Divine Territory is assessed against what experts such as Xue Ao’tian could recognize. More importantly for the Saint Land balance, Long Shiya finally becomes a Heavenly God. Because Long has six Attributes, the text judges him no longer inferior to Xue Ao’tian even though Xue Ao’tian remains at the middle level. The former solitary apex therefore approaches the final crisis with another human rival capable of standing on comparable ground. (Chapters 777, 795–796)

A feigned alignment before the Grand Tournament

On the eve of the Heavenly Jewel Tournament, Xue Ao’tian’s private priorities are clearer than his public behavior. He treats the pregnant Tian’er tenderly, insists that Phelia is his only true wife despite the attendants and concubines associated with his station, and accepts a plan sent by Zhou concerning Blood Red Hell. He understands that the tournament is only the surface of a larger confrontation and that the true enemy stands behind the Destruction power. His remaining paternal demand is almost domestic by comparison: Zhou must eventually hold a proper wedding on Heavenly Snow Mountain. (Chapter 801)

In public, Xue Ao’tian resumes his lifelong rivalry with Shangguan Tianyang and appears willing to entertain Fen Tian’s offer of cooperation. He exchanges a probing palm strike with Tianyang and lets the possibility of alignment with Blood Red Hell remain visible. Because he has already agreed to Zhou’s plan, this posture is strategic misdirection rather than evidence that he has accepted Fen Tian’s cause. It preserves uncertainty while Xue Ao’tian presides over the tournament and the drawing of lots. (Chapters 801, 803–807)

The performance becomes personally costly when Xue Ao’tian’s younger brother, Xue Ao’ying, fights Blood Red Hell. Tournament rules prevent the Mountain Lord from intervening, even when his brother’s life is at risk. Xue Ao’ying kills his opponent and survives, and Xue Ao’tian catches him and coolly controls the aftermath. Fen Tian continues to advertise the Destruction Attribute as an attractive source of strength, but Xue Ao’tian’s restraint is serving the larger trap, not moving him toward submission. (Chapter 808)

Defending the mountain against Destruction

When Fen Tian reveals the coalition’s full strength, Xue Ao’tian recognizes that he has reached the maximum Heavenly God level. Fen Tian demands obedience and uses Zhou’s position as leverage, but Xue Ao’tian refuses. Zhou is his son-in-law, and the Heavenly Snow Mountain can be crushed without surrendering its dignity. His choice ends the pretense of neutrality at the moment the Love Valley betrayal leaves the allied Saint Lands surrounded by Destruction power. (Chapters 818–819)

Xue Ao’tian activates the ten-piece God Vanquishing Heavenly Spirit Set and takes up the God Spirit Staff, their power turning purplish-gold around him. His Heavenly Spirit Divine Territory forces open a protected region inside the enemy’s Destructive Divine Territory and shields the Heavenly Snow Mountain contingent from suppression. Tian’er adds Creation-aligned Saint Energy to his power, lifting his displayed force from the middle Heavenly God level toward the upper level and giving the domain greater resistance to Destruction. Xue Ao’tian also summons the Mountain’s guardian beasts, a force of more than fifty that includes over twenty Heavenly Emperor-level beings and answers to the bloodline of the Mountain Lord. (Chapters 820–821)

The domain becomes the foundation of the allied defense. Outnumbered by roughly four to one, the Heavenly Snow Mountain and Peerless Sect forces would be destroyed quickly without Xue Ao’tian repeatedly channeling the God Spirit Staff to maintain it. That necessity is also his central limitation: the defensive burden pins down one of the battlefield’s strongest individuals and prevents him from fighting freely. Under the combined pressure of the Destructive Divine Territory, he considers self-detonation, but rejects it because the blast would kill allies along with enemies. (Chapter 823)

As the battle changes, so does his method. He initially prepares to die gloriously when he mistakes the Blackfiend Dragon’s arrival for another enemy, then accepts Tian’er’s correction and the relief brought by new allies. After severe Mountain losses, he stops seeking direct exchanges and uses his strength for timely rescues and support, improving the survival of the troops still fighting. During the enemy’s later collapse he counterattacks, and when the Love Valley leaders self-detonate, he seizes Tian’er and escapes the blast. His late-war contribution is therefore defined as much by preservation and judgment as by the scale of his power. (Chapters 824–825, 827, 830)

Loss, reconciliation, and the Netherworld vigil

The physical Heavenly Snow Mountain is destroyed in the war. Xue Ao’tian feels the loss bitterly, but the surviving manpower is more important than the ruined stronghold, especially when the other traditional Saint Land bases have also fallen. Tianyang offers half of Heaven’s Expanse Palace’s island as a new home and promises winter food to prevent famine in WanShou. Xue Ao’tian refuses the island but accepts the material aid his people need. He immediately sends Xue Ao’ying, Gu Yingbing, and ten elites toward the Zhongtian frontier, preserving a reserve if the remaining confrontation ends badly. (Chapters 831–832)

That agreement closes his lifelong rivalry with Tianyang. Xue Ao’tian says the Heavenly Snow Mountain title has lost its former significance, then clasps Tianyang’s hand and accepts cooperation between their peoples. The gesture does not erase their competition; it turns it into a relationship capable of sustaining refugees and preserving fighters after both old orders have been broken. His choice mirrors the lesson of Tian’er’s trials on a larger scale: dignity can survive a change in arrangement, while rigid pride in a ruined structure helps no one. (Chapter 832)

The war then gives way to the deeper crisis Phelia had guarded against. Xue Ao’tian reveals that Heavenly Snow Mountain stands over an entrance to the Netherworld and that Phelia is one of the seal’s guardians. When Tian’er wants to enter the abyss beside Zhou, he supports her decision despite the danger, tells Zhou to bring her, and entrusts both of them to the bond he once tested. He wishes to join them but cannot: without Saint Energy, even his Heavenly God cultivation does not qualify him to enter and act effectively within the Netherworld struggle. (Chapters 835, 837)

Waiting above the abyss ages him in a way battle never did. With his wife, daughter, and son-in-law all beyond his reach, he appears old, frail, and desolate, but he does not try to stop the choice they have made. He remains with Tianyang and Zhou’s family at the seal until Zhou returns alive. Xue Ao’tian’s latest state is therefore one of survival after the loss of his mountain and political order, balanced by the return of the family whose agency he has finally learned to trust. (Chapters 845, 848)

Appearance and personality

Xue Ao’tian has a youthful, almost austere appearance despite his age and position. His silver hair is only about an inch long, his eyes are deep purple, and his clean white clothing carries no decoration. He can withdraw his presence so completely that no aura is detectable, making his transparent, ice-like hand and effortless Divine power all the more striking when he begins to act. (Chapter 155)

He is proud, controlled, and intensely conscious of promises and public order. Those traits make him stubborn enough to maintain Tian’er’s unwanted engagement, but they also compel him to create fair conditions once he recognizes that his original plan could kill her. He punishes Gu Site for interference even though the Lion faction is politically valuable, accepts Tian’er’s choice when Zhou meets the test, and later rejects Fen Tian’s overwhelming power because survival without dignity is not an acceptable form of leadership. (Chapters 155, 172–182, 818–819)

His reserve conceals deep attachment. He cannot kill Tian’er, remains faithful in his heart to Phelia through decades of separation, heals allies and family when he can, and suffers visibly when those closest to him enter the Netherworld without him. He can also be theatrical and strategically misleading, particularly during the final tournament, but his later decisions consistently place family, dependents, and the continuity of his people above personal pride or a spectacular death. (Chapters 155, 177–183, 801–808, 823, 831–848)

Abilities and cultivation

Heavenly God cultivation and bloodline

Xue Ao’tian is already a Heavenly God when he directly enters the story, placing him above Long Shiya at their first reunion. His power later stabilizes at the middle Heavenly God level. The Divine Heavenly Spirit Tiger bloodline gives him the Divine, Spirit, and Water Attributes, while the deep Ice Jade environment of Heavenly Snow Mountain reinforces Water- and Ice-aligned cultivation. Xue Ao’tian credits that environment with helping him reach the Heavenly King realm before age thirty and eventually the Heavenly God realm. (Chapters 155, 163–165, 173–174, 795)

During the final war, Tian’er feeds Creation-aligned Saint Energy into his power, and his displayed cultivation rises to the upper Heavenly God level. This is an externally reinforced battlefield state rather than a clearly documented permanent breakthrough. It lets him resist Destruction power more effectively, but it still does not release him from the need to maintain his domain or give him the Saint Energy required to enter the Netherworld later. His latest independent cultivation level is therefore most safely described as middle-level Heavenly God, with an upper-level peak under Tian’er’s reinforcement. (Chapters 820, 823, 837)

His bloodline authority also underlies his command of Heavenly Beasts. He can summon and direct the guardian force raised by Heavenly Snow Mountain, from lower-ranked trial opponents to numerous Heavenly Emperor-level beasts. The guardians are partners of the Mountain and obey the Mountain Lord’s lineage; the ability is not portrayed as unrestricted domination of every Heavenly Beast. Its greatest uses are the controlled escalation of Zhou’s first trial and the mass reinforcement of the Saint Land army. (Chapters 174–177, 820–821)

Divine and Spirit techniques

Xue Ao’tian’s Divine and Spirit Attributes support unusually precise diagnosis, healing, memory, and control. His self-created Heavenly God Spirit skill can retrieve a target’s recent memories and project them as visible images, allowing him to reconstruct Butler’s encounter with Zhou. He can identify a compound venom, the Divine energy sustaining its victim, and the suppression of the Dragon Silencing Seal. He is capable of cleansing that poison, although its long residence in Butler’s body makes the process difficult rather than effortless. (Chapter 155)

The same precision appears in Tian’er’s final trial, where Xue Ao’tian seals her memories to an early-childhood state without destroying them. His Divine energy can heal severe damage and even reattach Gu Site’s severed arm, but it cannot fully restore nerves and meridians that have already been ruined, leaving lasting loss of function. These examples establish high-level restoration and mental sealing without making them limitless: the chapters do not specify a universal range, activation cost, or immunity to resistance, and irreversible tissue damage remains a demonstrated boundary. He can also erect barriers, isolate sound, suppress cultivation, and apply power with enough control to make unequal combatants fight under comparable conditions. These techniques are usually used as judicial tools—protecting the integrity of a test, limiting interference, or controlling what observers can perceive—rather than as named finishing attacks. (Chapters 172–181)

God Vanquishing Heavenly Spirit Set and Divine Territory

Xue Ao’tian’s ten-piece God Vanquishing Heavenly Spirit Set is his complete Legendary Set. When activated with the slender God Spirit Staff, the equipment takes on a purplish-gold radiance and magnifies his Divine presence. The set is treated as a standard against which other complete Legendary Sets are judged, and its representative large-scale use is the final Saint Lands war rather than the earlier marriage trials. (Chapters 768, 820)

The God Spirit Staff channels the Heavenly Spirit Divine Territory. Xue Ao’tian uses it to force a protected region open within the enemy’s Destructive Divine Territory, sheltering his army from suppression and immediate annihilation. Tian’er’s Creation energy strengthens the domain’s resistance, while repeated staff movements sustain it under combined pressure. The application is powerful but demanding: maintaining the protected area occupies Xue Ao’tian, limits his freedom to attack, and grows harder as multiple Destruction users reinforce the opposing territory. (Chapters 820, 823)

This interaction also defines the technique’s counters. Maximum-level Destruction power and numerical concentration can compress the territory despite Xue Ao’tian’s cultivation, while Creation Saint Energy reinforces it. Once battlefield pressure eases, Xue Ao’tian can shift from fixed protection to mobile rescue and counterattack, but he never demonstrates that the territory can simply overwhelm Fen Tian’s domain alone. Combat control and limitations

Outside named techniques, Xue Ao’tian has the speed, flight, physical force, and energy control of a top Heavenly God. He can clash directly with Tianyang, catch a falling Xue Ao’ying, move Tian’er out of a self-detonation, and threaten the battlefield merely by releasing his cultivation. His preference is controlled application: judging a trial, sustaining allies, or intervening at the exact moment a life can be saved. (Chapters 803–808, 827, 830)

His highest realm does not remove situational limits. Tournament rules and political strategy prevent him from rescuing Xue Ao’ying directly; sustaining his Divine Territory anchors him defensively; self-detonation would destroy allies; and the absence of Saint Energy bars him from following Zhou and Tian’er into the Netherworld. These restrictions are central to his later development because they force a man accustomed to being the strongest person present to trust other people’s choices and abilities. • Tian’er: Xue Ao’tian’s only daughter and intended link in his original succession plan. Her willingness to die rather than accept the marriage makes him construct fair trials, and her choice of Zhou eventually teaches him to trust her judgment even when she enters the Netherworld. • Zhou Weiqing: Initially an outsider who threatens a political marriage, Zhou becomes Xue Ao’tian’s tested son-in-law and strategic ally.
