Phelia
Phelia is an Entropic Nether Tiger, the wife of Xue Aotian, and the absent mother of Tian'er. Her apparent abandonment of her family is the cost of guarding the Netherworld Seal under the Dragon Emperor, a duty she maintains for thousands of years. During the contest for Tian'er's marriage, Phelia honors her daughter's choice, equips Zhou Weiqing with knowledge vital to his development, and eventually reunites with her family at the seal she has spent her life defending.
Biography
A mother's judgment on Heavenly Snow Mountain
Phelia returns to Heavenly Snow Mountain after twenty years apart from Xue Aotian and Tian'er to judge the final aura test between Zhou and Gu Yingbing. She explains that her master gave her life and guards the Boundless Mainland, so she cannot abandon her station even for her husband. Rather than simply announce a preferred suitor, she places both men inside an entropic illusion that tests their bloodlines and endurance. Zhou lasts longer and experiences a vision revealing the origin of his Dark Demon God Tiger core. (Chapters 177–178)
Inside the illusion Phelia assumes human form and privately acknowledges Zhou. Her choice is grounded first in Tian'er's love, not Zhou's power; his Demonic and Time Attributes matter because they complement Tian'er's Divine and Spirit Attributes and may eventually help the guardians. Phelia asks him to aid her when strong enough, teaches a paired cultivation method for the Four Saint Attributes, and gives him the Nether State Skill. She also sees his divided affections clearly and makes a mother's request that he never break Tian'er's heart. (Chapter 178)
Phelia accepts Tian'er's enduring recognition of Zhou even after Xue Aotian suppresses their daughter's memories for the last emotional test. She urges her husband to bless the couple, recalling that their own love survived twenty years of separation. Once Tian'er regains her memories, mother and daughter finally embrace; Tian'er initially asks why she was unwanted, but Phelia's explanations and the burden of guardianship lead to forgiveness. Phelia can remain only three days before silently returning to duty. (Chapters 181–182)
Gifts that prepare the next guardians
Phelia's teachings continue working in her absence. Nether State gives Zhou three seconds of physical immunity and can be used three times daily at his then-current cultivation, while the Four Saint Attributes method stabilizes Zhou and Tian'er's different energies into a shared vortex. Phelia had developed the concept from experience, leaving the pair to discover the practical details themselves. Their first focused use triggers profound changes in Zhou and begins the Saint Energy path that Phelia hoped could eventually assist the seal. (Chapters 178, 182, 186–187, 254)
Later information clarifies why even a Heavenly God cannot leave freely. Phelia is one of the twelve outer guardians serving the Dragon Emperor at the Netherworld Seal, not the central guardian herself. She visits the Elven Queen roughly a year before Zhou reaches the Elf Tribe and tells her that the couple may learn to cultivate Saint Energy, helping the queen recognize them and judge that they are not responsible for her daughter's disappearance. (Chapters 263, 776–777)
Relief at the failing Netherworld Seal
When Zhou and Tian'er finally descend into the seal, they find Phelia in Entropic Nether Tiger form among twelve exhausted Heavenly God beasts surrounding the Dragon Emperor. She is almost six thousand years old and deeply worn by maintaining the formation. Hui Yao and Duo Si replace Phelia and another guardian as fresh energy sources, allowing her to leave the fixed position and later join the surrounding defense. (Chapters 839, 842)
Phelia then witnesses Zhou and Tian'er being drawn into the Netherworld after completing the seal. Her guilt over Tian'er's childhood makes the apparent loss unbearable, but she explains that the seal restrains Destruction Energy rather than their Saint Energy: if the pair can defeat the Nether Lord, they can return through it. She kneels on the seal and prays for them, ending her known arc as both an ancient guardian and a mother relying on the children she prepared. (Chapter 846)
Appearance and personality
Phelia's natural form is a sleek, grey-black tiger about two metres long and eighty centimetres tall. Her black fur gleams with a translucent shifting grey, ordinary tiger stripes cross her body, and a crystalline grey “King” marking glows on her forehead. She can also appear as an exceptionally beautiful black-clad woman of about twenty-seven whose features resemble Tian'er's. In both forms, her eyes and voice are normally gentle; when using entropic power, her eyes become deep black like limitless holes. (Chapters 177–178)
Duty and tenderness pull her in opposite directions. Phelia refuses to betray the master and cause that preserve the mainland, yet openly acknowledges that twenty years away made her fail her maternal responsibilities. She is perceptive enough to inspect Zhou's heart, fair enough to respect Tian'er's own choice, and restrained enough to teach without revealing dangers too early. Her later exhaustion and silent grief show that millennia of service have not dulled her family attachments. (Chapters 177–182, 839, 846)
Abilities and cultivation
Entropic Nether Tiger cultivation
Phelia identifies herself as a Heavenly God-tier Heavenly Beast not wholly native to Zhou's world. Her aura alone can impose a severe bloodline and spiritual trial on Zhou and Gu Yingbing, and her entropic barrier is dangerous enough that Long Shiya will not force entry for fear of harming Zhou. Later testimony places her at the low Heavenly God Tier and nearly six thousand years of age. Despite that scale, continuous work on the Netherworld Seal leaves her visibly exhausted, establishing that her energy is vast but not inexhaustible. (Chapters 177–178, 263, 839, 842)
Entropic illusion and perception
Phelia twists the surrounding space into a grey-black field and inserts targets into an illusion indistinguishable from reality. The process tears at the soul, exposes bloodline response, and allows her to observe the target's inner qualities. She can see into Zhou's heart and present historical events connected to the Dark Demon God Tiger core. The test is controlled rather than lethal: Xue Aotian removes Gu Yingbing when his body reaches its limit, while Phelia continues privately with Zhou. (Chapters 177–178)
Nether State and Four Saint Attributes instruction
Phelia can transfer a Stored Skill directly into Zhou's Jewel. Nether State activates instantly without an external sign and makes its user immune to physical attacks for three seconds, including weapon strikes; at Zhou's level it is limited to three uses per day and is not described as immunity to energy or spiritual attacks. Her paired cultivation method brings Demonic, Time, Divine, and Spirit auras into a balanced rotation, but she supplies a concept rather than a complete automatic technique. (Chapters 178, 186–187, 254)
Relationships
- Tian'er: Phelia loves her daughter but leaves shortly after birth to maintain the seal. Their reunion mixes Tian'er's hurt with Phelia's guilt, followed by forgiveness and a brief family life before duty separates them again.
- Xue Aotian: Phelia is his only wife. Their relationship survives millennia and long separations; she supports his authority but persuades him to accept Tian'er's chosen partner.
- Zhou Weiqing: Phelia recognizes both a son-in-law chosen by Tian'er and a future source of Saint Energy for the seal. She tests him, teaches him, and later trusts that his power can overcome the Nether Lord.
- Gu Yingbing: She acknowledges Gu as an outstanding candidate but does not place status or cultivation above Tian'er's established love. Her test gives both suitors the same external conditions.
- Hui Yao and Duo Si: The two dragons relieve Phelia and another exhausted guardian in the Netherworld formation, providing the fresh Heavenly God energy needed to reinforce it.
Items
Phelia has no named personal equipment in the supplied corpus. Her principal gifts—the Nether State Stored Skill and the Four Saint Attributes cultivation method—are techniques described under abilities rather than physical items.
