Hui Yao

Hui Yao is a Dragon Emperor descendant whose death, revival, and search for his abducted children connect the Lustre Spatial Realm to the final Netherworld crisis. Gratitude makes him an ally of Zhou Weiqing, but parental duty repeatedly takes precedence over personal safety or obligation. That same devotion leaves him vulnerable when his children are sacrificed, allowing Destruction Energy to enslave him before he returns to the Netherworld seal by choice.

Biography

Revived while his family remains in danger

Hui Yao first appears as an enormous dead dragon beside his injured wife, Duo Si. Their unhatched children have been abducted, and the attack has left Hui Yao’s corpse saturated with Destruction Energy powerful enough to threaten anyone who tries to remove it. Duo Si contains that energy while Zhou and Tian’er convert it through Saint Energy, accepting exhaustion and risk because reviving Hui Yao is the only hope she sees for recovering their family. Once the Destruction contamination is gone, the resilience of his dragon body begins repairing the physical wounds even before life returns. (Chapters 230–232)

Tian’er’s Resurrection Skill appears to fail at the end of the long attempt, driving Duo Si to prepare to die beside her husband. Hui Yao then revives, rises under an eruption of red power, and immediately turns his attention to Duo Si. In repayment, he uses the core power of his Dragon Soul to elevate the spiritual strength of Zhou, Tian’er, and the three Shangguan sisters. The gift is costly enough to affect his own core, but he gives it before making any request, showing that he recognizes the scale of the life returned to him. (Chapters 232–234)

Gratitude does not make him promise passivity. When Zhou asks him not to destroy the Lustre Spatial Realm, Hui Yao refuses because remaining trapped would mean abandoning his children; he is willing to repay his own life only after saving them. The conflict is resolved through a three-year bargain. Zhou will seek a Spatial Teleportation Gem and prepare an evacuation, while Hui Yao will delay breaking the realm apart. Hui Yao even lets Zhou Devour some of his Heavenly Energy so that his own urgent impulse to leave will be easier to restrain. His choice balances two obligations without pretending that the safety of Zhongtian City matters more to him than his children. (Chapter 233)

An alliance carried beyond the Lustre Realm

When Zhou later activates the Spatial Teleportation Gem, Hui Yao and Duo Si answer the location marker and summoning method Hui Yao placed in his mind. Their arrival ends the immediate threat of a conflict with Xuantian Palace: both dragons are prepared to fight for the person who saved them, but stand down once they learn that Shangguan Bing’er is alive and the crisis is a misunderstanding. Hui Yao treats Zhou as a friend and equal rather than a master, and his willingness to help is grounded in reciprocal loyalty rather than submission. (Chapter 256)

That alliance becomes decisive when a surviving Terror Sea Dragon ambushes Zhou above the ocean. Hui Yao contacts Zhou and directs him to lure the enemy into the sky, where the Terror Sea Dragon loses the escape and recovery advantages of the sea. Hui Yao and Duo Si overwhelm it quickly; Hui Yao restrains its neck and back, prevents it from self-detonating or returning to the water, and judges that its remaining energy can safely advance Zhou’s cultivation. The two dragons then guard the area throughout the prolonged Devouring process. Hui Yao’s contribution is therefore not only superior force but also the tactical reading that turns an oceanic predator into a contained resource. (Chapters 257–258)

Enslaved through grief and restored to himself

Hui Yao and Duo Si eventually trace their children through their shared bloodline to Blood Red Hell. They arrive in time to witness Fen Tian using the children as a blood sacrifice to the Nether Lord. Both dragons go berserk. The Nether Lord’s Destruction Energy exploits their confused state, injures them, and enslaves them through the power drawn from that sacrifice. Their later appearance among the Destruction coalition is thus coerced rather than a reversal of loyalty: they ignore Zhou’s attempted summons, carry enemy forces into battle, and attack the Elven Empress with purplish-black eyes and Destruction-stained bodies. Even deprived of reason, Hui Yao retains ancient combat instincts and fights beside Duo Si with suicidal intensity. The Elven Empress and her elders contain the pair inside the Natural Divine Territory, whose Life power gradually separates and dissolves part of the Destruction contamination. When the dragons try to erupt out of the confinement, the elves expel and recapture them rather than kill them. After Fen Tian dies, Zhou and Tian’er remove the now-masterless Destruction Energy. Hui Yao awakens to grief rather than relief, recounting the blood sacrifice only after Zhou’s Saint Energy calms the rage that had already been used against him once. (Chapters 826–828, 835–836)

Choosing the Netherworld battle

Hui Yao does not withdraw after regaining control. He and Duo Si volunteer to carry Zhou, Tian’er, and the Elven Empress into the abyss, their Fire affinity warding away the deep cold. Hui Yao asks Zhou to kill the Nether Lord if an opportunity appears and offers the couple’s lifelong service if their children are avenged. The offer comes from grief and desperation, but his action is immediate and practical: he accelerates toward the failing seal, helps identify a Dragon Turtle as a member of the Dragon Tribe, and submits his Dragon Emperor bloodline for verification. (Chapters 837–838)

At the seal, Hui Yao and Duo Si replace two exhausted guardian beasts in the formation. Their fresh Heavenly God energy strengthens the failing structure, and the Dragon Emperor explicitly recognizes Hui Yao’s strength. The Nether Lord then displays and crushes the souls of their children to destabilize them; the shock makes their energy waver and nearly breaks the formation, showing that the enemy can still weaponize their grief even after direct enslavement has ended. Hui Yao nevertheless remains part of the combined effort through the seal’s reconstruction and survives the crisis. (Chapters 839–840, 846)

Hui Yao later carries news between the seal and the people waiting above. After Zhou returns and the Nether Lord is destroyed, he remains with Duo Si, still regarding Zhou as their great benefactor. Saint Energy has nourished the dragons enough for Duo Si to become pregnant again, and they postpone searching for the rest of their tribe to protect the new life. Hui Yao’s latest state therefore answers the loss that drove his entire arc without erasing it: his first children are gone, but he has recovered agency, family, and a future beyond vengeance. Appearance and personality

Hui Yao is an immense fiery-red dragon more than one hundred meters long, with wings compared to storm clouds and an aura strong enough to alter the surrounding temperature and color. He is substantially larger than Duo Si, and his presence carries the distinctive majesty of the Dragon Emperor bloodline. During his enslavement, black stains mark his body and his eyes become purplish-black; both are effects of Destruction Energy rather than his natural appearance. (Chapters 230, 256, 821–823, 835)

He is proud, direct, and bound by a strong sense of repayment. He rewards the people who revive him, answers Zhou’s later summons, and repeatedly acknowledges the human as a friend and benefactor. His honor does not erase competing duties: he refuses a promise that would prevent him from seeking his children and openly states that parental obligation comes before the life-debt he owes. That refusal is accompanied by compromise rather than deceit, making his severity part of a consistent moral order. (Chapters 233, 256–257, 837)

Family is his deepest strength and vulnerability. He and Duo Si act as a pair in battle, recovery, and grief, and his choices are repeatedly shaped by protecting their children. The sacrifice makes him susceptible first to berserk confusion and then to enslavement, while the Nether Lord can destabilize him again by crushing their souls. After the crisis, his humor and affection return, but his decision to postpone the search for the Dragon Tribe when Duo Si becomes pregnant shows that protection, rather than vengeance alone, remains his governing motive. Abilities and cultivation

Maximum-level Heavenly God and Dragon Emperor bloodline

Hui Yao is a Heavenly God dragon whose cultivation is later identified at the maximum level. His Dragon Emperor ancestry gives him a purity and authority that other dragons instinctively recognize: the Tenebrous Demon Dragon regards his bloodline as exalted, and the ancient Dragon Turtle confirms his descent through a direct bloodline test. Atmospheric energy appears to submit to him without the visible exertion required by lesser dragons, while his sheer aura can suppress nearby Heavenly Emperors. (Chapters 256, 838, 840)

The bloodline does not make him equal to the original Dragon Emperor. The two possess comparable maximum-level reserves, but the ancestor’s attributes and Heavenly Energy are purer, creating a substantial difference in ability. Hui Yao’s blood also gives him heightened awareness of Nether influence and makes him suitable for reinforcing the Netherworld seal, but the seal still requires a formation, other guardian beasts, and Saint Energy; lineage alone cannot contain the Nether Lord. Fire, flight, and dragon combat

Hui Yao has an exceptionally strong Fire affinity. His aura raises temperatures and can cook marine life beneath him, he can project fiery-red power around passengers, and he launches fireballs to illuminate the deep Netherworld passage. His wings carry his enormous body at great speed, while his strength and claws let him physically restrain another Heavenly God dragon. With Duo Si, he can turn the sky into their domain and defeat the Terror Sea Dragon once it is separated from the water. (Chapters 256–257, 837–838)

Environment and opposition still matter. Water-rich ocean air is unfavorable to his Fire cultivation, and he avoids crossing above the sea because his aura kills creatures below. The Terror Sea Dragon would be harder to prevent from escaping in the ocean, where it can draw on the water to heal and use secret arts to flee. Against the Elven Empress and twelve elders, Hui Yao and Duo Si cannot approach the formation’s center; Life Saint Energy suppresses and dissolves their borrowed Destruction power, and their attempted suicidal eruption is contained. Dragon Soul empowerment and summoning marker

Hui Yao can spend the core power of his Dragon Soul to raise another person’s spiritual strength. He uses five red rings to enhance Zhou, Tian’er, and the Shangguan sisters after his revival, and the resulting spiritual growth materially improves Zhou’s later control. The technique is not a cost-free blessing: the narration states that it consumes enough to affect Hui Yao’s own core. The supplied chapters do not show him repeating the empowerment. Before Zhou leaves the Lustre Spatial Realm, Hui Yao places a location marker in his mind and teaches him a summoning method. With a Spatial Teleportation Gem, Zhou can open a route between realms and call both dragons without ordinary distance being decisive. Destruction enslavement and recovery

The purplish-black Destruction Energy Hui Yao displays in the final war is imposed power, not an innate Attribute or voluntary cultivation. It amplifies the attacks of both dragons and drives them into a destructive coalition, but it also suppresses judgment and places them under Fen Tian’s control. Their initial berserk grief makes the enslavement possible, and even after release the children’s souls remain an emotional point the Nether Lord can exploit. (Chapters 821–828, 835–836, 840)

Life and Saint Energy are direct counters. The Elven formation can strip away part of the contamination, the Elven Empress can induce a temporary slumber, and Zhou’s Nebula Saint Energy removes the masterless Destruction Energy after Fen Tian’s death. She risks exhaustion and death to revive him, fights beside him against the Terror Sea Dragon and under Destruction control, and joins him in the Netherworld descent. • Zhou Weiqing: Zhou helps remove the Destruction Energy from Hui Yao’s corpse and supports his resurrection. Hui Yao repays him with Dragon Soul power, later answers his summons, protects his cultivation, and asks him to avenge the murdered children; their bond is repeatedly framed as friendship and reciprocal aid rather than ownership.
