Drunken Bao
Drunken Bao is a powerful, beer-loving member of the Fei Li Battle Team whose Light Attribute combines close-range cudgel combat with group support. He first joins Little Four in an overconfident wager against Zhou Weiqing, but Zhou’s refusal to impose the resulting lifetime oath becomes a debt Drunken Bao later chooses to honor. His most durable contribution is cooperative: he protects and strengthens teammates in battle, helps save Duo Si, and eventually takes responsibility for Peerless Battalion training and equipment.
Biography
An opportunistic wager becomes a personal debt
Drunken Bao first appears as one of the Fei Li Battle Team’s strongest younger members, a five-Jeweled Mid Level Zun who joins Little Four in mocking Zhou and Shangguan Bing’er as substitutes. When Little Four wagers that he can evade three of Zhou’s attacks, Drunken Bao accepts the same lifetime-follower stakes. His decision is opportunistic rather than coerced: he trusts Little Four’s speed and sees a chance to gain a capable servant without fighting personally. Little Four loses, leaving both men bound by their own terms. (Chapters 64–65)
Zhou refuses to enforce the vows because unwilling followers would undermine the team. The release embarrasses Drunken Bao and leaves him owing a favor to someone he had dismissed. That favor becomes consequential on the road to Zhongtian City. After three days of defending Zhou and Fat Cat from waves of Heavenly Beasts, Lin TianAo orders the exhausted group to withdraw and leave him behind. Drunken Bao rejects the sacrifice, then sits humming instead of obeying; the team’s decision to remain transforms his private debt into a collective refusal to abandon one another. (Chapters 65, 68)
Light support at the cost of his tournament chance
When Little Witch attacks the depleted group, Drunken Bao knows his Light Attribute makes him a priority target because it counters her Darkness. He anticipates the strike and activates Brilliant Light – Heaven and Earth, tripling his defense for one second while spreading Light reinforcement, recovery, and anti-Darkness pressure across his companions. The protection keeps her palm from killing him and empowers the team’s counterattack, but it cannot close the gap between their conditions. He is thrown through the trees, infected by Demonic or Evil Energy, and left with the team’s worst injuries. (Chapters 68–69)
Once awake, Drunken Bao urges the team to return home. The request reflects the cost of the encounter rather than a withdrawal of loyalty: his long recovery, Xiao Yan’s damaged life force, and the approaching tournament make the goal appear impossible. Zhou’s plan restores the team’s confidence, and Drunken Bao redirects his frustration toward defeating Bai Da, treating that result as a meaningful success for Fei Li even if stronger seeded teams remain beyond them. Although he eventually recovers, he spends the key tournament matches as a reserve rather than receiving the final appearance he expected. (Chapters 69–72, 83)
The death of Han Bing again places the team under mortal pressure. Drunken Bao argues against surrender when Fei Li leads two matches to none and offers to enter the paired match with Xiao Yan, but accepts Lin TianAo’s authority after being rebuked. He then supports Zhou’s rules-based plan to avoid Shen Little Demon and seek the remaining winnable match. Fei Li’s eventual victory leaves him almost unable to believe that the team has completed the championship run, mixing relief with the boisterous humor he uses to release tension. (Chapters 86, 88)
Choosing brotherhood after the championship
In the Lustre Spatial Realm, Drunken Bao follows Lin TianAo into the battle around the injured dragon Duo Si. Rather than join the front line, he uses his Light Heavenly Energy with Tian’er’s Divine healing, Ye Paopao’s Water energy, and Little Witch’s Life Attribute. His contribution cannot stabilize the dragon alone, but it slows the loss of life force until the stronger Life treatment arrives. The decision extends his support role beyond ordinary teammates and helps preserve the mother and her egg during a conflict driven by competing claims over both. (Chapter 103)
After the expedition, Lin TianAo reveals his lifetime oath to Zhou. Drunken Bao lowers his head in shame at the contrast with his own broken wager, then voluntarily kneels and asks Zhou to apply a follower seal. Zhou refuses every seal and calls the group brothers. Drunken Bao responds by embracing him and declaring that his judgment of Zhou was correct. When news arrives that the Heavenly Bow Empire has fallen, he immediately chooses to remain at Zhou’s side despite the apparent impossibility of challenging Bai Da-backed occupation. The original wager has thus been fulfilled in substance through choice and loyalty, not magical compulsion. (Chapter 109)
Supporting the Peerless Battalion away from the front line
Drunken Bao continues with Zhou’s group through dangerous terrain, taking the right flank in its travel formation. Later, Lin TianAo leaves him and Little Four in Tianbei City to supervise the shipment of custom armor. By the time Zhou prepares a diplomatic mission to Fei Li, the two have been helping with Lin TianAo’s primary work long enough to take over coordination of equipment and training. This responsibility is his final explicit role in the supplied chapters. It gives his support-oriented abilities a logistical counterpart: rather than pursuing individual tournament glory, he helps maintain the force on which Zhou’s restoration plan depends. (Chapters 116, 136, 187)
Appearance and personality
Drunken Bao is a huge, powerfully built man whose imposing frame contrasts with Little Four’s slight build. His Black Jade Physical Jewels emphasize stamina, and his incomplete dark Consolidated set covers his head, chest, waist, and wrists around a matching cudgel. His common nickname reflects his love of beer, which Lin TianAo describes as his one notable vice. (Chapters 64, 67)
He is loud, confident, and quick to turn tension into jokes. Early on, those traits make him dismissive and willing to gamble his freedom on another man’s skill. Later they become a source of morale: he celebrates the team’s victories, jokes with companions, and reacts to danger with blunt enthusiasm. His wish to retreat after severe injury is an unusually sober moment grounded in the fear that years of tournament preparation have been destroyed, not evidence that he abandons his companions. (Chapters 64–72, 81, 88, 91)
His strongest moral trait is a direct, almost stubborn sense of fellowship. He refuses Lin TianAo’s order to leave him behind, wants to continue the tournament after Han Bing’s death, accepts discipline when the leader judges the risk unacceptable, and later tries to bind himself to a promise Zhou has already forgiven. Once Zhou rejects the seal, Drunken Bao treats the relationship as brotherhood and follows him into the more dangerous task of restoring an occupied homeland. (Chapters 68, 86, 109)
Abilities and cultivation
Five-Jeweled stamina and Light Attribute
Drunken Bao is a five-Jeweled Mid Level Zun at his introduction. His Black Jade Physical Jewels provide stamina, fitting a close-range fighter expected to absorb pressure over a prolonged engagement, while his Elemental Jewels carry the Light Attribute. Light reinforces his cudgel attacks, counters Darkness, supports nearby allies, and provides limited healing. The supplied chapters do not document a later cultivation rank or an additional Jewel, so five Jewels remains his latest explicit level. (Chapters 64, 67–69)
His cultivation gives him enough force to injure a similarly ranked Blood Blaze Lioness when an opening is created, but he cannot hold a stronger Zong Stage beast for long by himself. His best results arise from coordinated timing with Bing’er, Lin TianAo, and the other attackers rather than raw superiority. (Chapter 67)
Brilliant Light – Heaven and Earth
Brilliant Light – Heaven and Earth is the support skill stored in Drunken Bao’s fifth Jewel. He crosses his arms before his chest and pushes his palms outward, producing a golden pillar that expands over the surrounding group. For one second, the skill triples his own defense. Allies inside the light receive an additional Light quality on their attacks along with physical, mental, and Heavenly Energy rejuvenation and a modest healing effect; Darkness-aligned enemies are weakened and take minor offensive pressure from the opposing Attribute. (Chapters 68–69)
The skill’s defensive peak is extremely brief and not invulnerability. It saves Drunken Bao from Little Witch’s direct palm but still leaves him thrown nearly thirty yards, bleeding, unable to continue, and suffering internal damage from invasive Evil Energy. A stronger opponent can also remove the enhancement from an ally, as Little Witch does to Little Four. Its greatest value is therefore timed survival and team-wide amplification rather than sustained protection. (Chapters 68–69)
Cudgel combat and Triple Evil Smite
Drunken Bao’s Physical Jewels Consolidate into a dark cudgel and several pieces of an unfinished armor set. He combines the weapon with a trained martial technique called Triple Evil Smite, producing three near-superimposed cudgel images in one rapid advance. Triple Evil Smite is not a Stored Skill. When paired with his Light Attribute Righteous Smite, its raw offense is described as unexceptional, but the sequence has a powerful stunning effect that can delay a target’s recovery and create an opening for the team. (Chapter 67)
The Blood Blaze Lion fight demonstrates the required setup. Lin TianAo first suppresses and repositions the stronger beast, Ye Paopao wounds its eye, and only then do Drunken Bao’s three blows prevent its flames from recovering. The technique is useful in a coordinated finishing sequence, but the supplied chapters do not show it independently overpowering an alert, stronger opponent. (Chapter 67)
Light healing
Drunken Bao can circulate Light Heavenly Energy directly into an injured target. Against Duo Si’s catastrophic blood loss, his power and Ye Paopao’s Water energy reduce the rate at which her life force ebbs and ease Tian’er’s burden. Light’s healing is explicitly weaker than Divine and Life treatment: Drunken Bao cannot stabilize the dragon by himself, and decisive recovery begins only when Little Witch adds concentrated Life Energy. (Chapter 103)
This limitation also applies to his own injuries. After Little Witch’s attack, he can use Light Energy to suppress the invading cold power temporarily, but he still needs Zhou to extract it and requires a long recovery from the damage already done. Light gives him meaningful first aid and resistance, not comprehensive restoration or immunity to hostile energy. (Chapters 68–70)
Relationships
- Zhou Weiqing: Drunken Bao initially tries to profit from Little Four’s wager against Zhou. Zhou releases the resulting debt twice over—first by declining the oath, then by refusing the later seal—and Drunken Bao responds by choosing brotherhood and following him toward the occupied Heavenly Bow Empire. (Chapters 64–65, 68–70, 109)
- Little Four: His closest recurring partner. Drunken Bao trusts Little Four enough to share the initial wager, supports him with Light in battle, consults him before renewing the follower promise, and later shares responsibility for Peerless Battalion equipment and training. (Chapters 64–69, 109, 136, 187)
- Lin TianAo: Drunken Bao follows Lin’s battlefield leadership, refuses to let him sacrifice himself alone, and accepts his authority when tournament anger makes continued combat tempting. He later helps with Lin’s logistical duties and takes them over during Lin’s absence. (Chapters 64, 67–68, 86, 136, 187)
- Little Witch: His Light Attribute makes him a natural counter and therefore one of her first targets. Brilliant Light – Heaven and Earth lets him survive and reinforces the team, but her greater power injures him more severely than any other companion. He later combines his Light healing with her stronger Life treatment to save Duo Si. (Chapters 68–69, 103)
- Duo Si: Drunken Bao uses Light Heavenly Energy to slow the injured dragon’s loss of life force. His power is only one part of a four-Attribute healing effort, but it helps keep her alive until stronger stabilization takes effect. (Chapter 103)
- Shen Little Demon: After Han Bing’s death, Drunken Bao is eager to continue despite her killing intent. He ultimately supports Zhou’s plan to avoid a direct fight with the vastly stronger team leader and exploit the tournament’s match rules. (Chapter 86)
Items
- Incomplete Consolidated Equipment set: At least an eight-piece design, though Drunken Bao has not completed it in the supplied chapters. The manifested pieces include armor over his head, chest, waist, and wrists, together with a dark cudgel. (Chapter 67)
- Consolidated cudgel: The weapon through which Drunken Bao channels Light Energy, Righteous Smite, and the trained Triple Evil Smite sequence. The chapters do not give it a separate individual name. (Chapter 67)
