Elizabeth

Elizabeth de Beaufort, usually called Elizabeth, is the former Tyrant Queen of Mermaid Country, the academy professor who works under the identity Anna Rose, Neo Hargraves's partner and World Avatar, and the later Witch of Pride. Her story repeatedly rebuilds the same choice under different lives and power systems: institutions value her as a ruler, weapon, teacher, witch, or martial artist, but she defines herself through the people she chooses to shelter. Professor Anna is her disguise, Elder White is her later reincarnated identity, and the separately created Tyrant Firmament is not Elizabeth despite sharing her appearance and some behavioral echoes. Biography

The Tyrant Queen, the curse, and the fall of Mermaid Country

Elizabeth first appears as the feared Tyrant Queen, an Exalted Demigod whose radical policies stopped stronger countries and demigods from exploiting Mermaid Country. The title records both the protection she achieved and the violence used to achieve it. By the time Neo reaches her court, ministers welcome the prediction that she will die within three days, a rebellion is already spreading through the palace, and a curse accumulated over years has reduced even her strength to a dwindling refusal to die. She privately bargains with Neo because his Monarch of Death bloodline offers a possibility that ordinary healing does not. (Chapters 10–12)

The curse is cast by Clara Winterfeld, with Paul helping the revolt. In Elizabeth's dreamspace, she corrects the family history concealed from the public: Clara and Paul are her Spell-born children, while Amelia de Beaufort is the daughter of Elizabeth's secret twin sister and Poseidon. Their betrayal persuades Elizabeth that her life has no value to anyone. Neo answers that neither the public nor her children can determine that value, and reminds her that he and Amelia want her alive. Elizabeth chooses to release the curse into him, accepting his promised death as the price of her survival. (Chapters 18–21)

Once awake, Elizabeth incapacitates Clara and Paul but cannot kill them. She rejects Amelia's demand for revenge because reproducing the betrayal will not restore their family. Instead, she makes the public identity of the Tyrant Queen die: she destroys the palace, damages the capital, and leaves behind the story that the queen perished in a final rampage. She carries Neo's corpse because she has already inferred that his resurrection returns him to the same vessel, then leaves with Amelia. The decision ends her reign without undoing what it accomplished, and her debt to the young man who died twice for her becomes an attachment neither of them yet knows how to name. (Chapters 21–27)

Professor Anna and Demigod Academy guardianship

The world believes Elizabeth died, leaving her without a safe public identity or a plan beyond keeping danger away from Amelia. Charlotte, her former master and principal of Demigod Academy, refuses to let that freedom become self-exile. She prepares a disguise and a teaching post, and Elizabeth enters the academy as Anna Rose, the first-year homeroom professor. The identity is not another woman whom Elizabeth replaces. Chapters 72, 119, and 161 explicitly show Elizabeth resuming or wearing Anna's disguise, while the classroom introduction in Chapter 57 establishes the full professional name. (Chapters 55–58, 72, 119, and 161)

As Professor Anna, Elizabeth teaches the elemental basics that Neo's instant spell knowledge omitted. She develops a reputation for strict, impartial discipline because she punishes God-clan students and unaffiliated students by the same standard. At the same time, her protective bias is visible. She watches Neo's Death and Darkness training from above, recognizes the danger behind sudden mastery growth, supports Team Umbra's missions, and wants to enter the Calamity Window when the students are trapped. Charlotte prevents the intervention because exposing Elizabeth or overwhelming the mission with an Exalted would create consequences the students cannot control. (Chapters 57–75, 93–100, and 119–124)

Neo's regressions stretch academy history while Elizabeth remains one of the few adults able to recognize how much time he has actually endured. During an exam, she gives him the familiar paper rather than the altered test assigned to detected regressors. When his Labyrinth campaign leaves him physically broken, she uses Charlotte's portal network to extract him, gives him a mansion in which to recover, and spars with him after his Mythic breakthrough. Her instruction is therefore both formal and personal: Anna Rose teaches a class, while Elizabeth protects a specific student whose refusal to rest repeatedly outpaces the institution designed to train him. (Chapters 140, 158–167)

God Slayer clues, the Temple of Void, and suspended survival

Neo later arranges an indirect meeting that leads Elizabeth to a disguised operative. Irritated by his evasiveness but alert to the possibility of a real threat, she follows the trail herself. Water Reflect lets her examine water surfaces and their memories; altered Divine Energy signatures let her activate a trapped teleportation formation; and her ability to identify disguises reveals the opponent beneath the coffee-shop appearance. Once she reaches the hidden base, she defeats the Void Tainted, extracts information about the wider Temple of Void, and continues destroying its branches rather than stopping after the objective Neo silently placed before her. (Chapters 191–197)

That thoroughness nearly kills her. Elizabeth keeps fighting after the first battle has placed half of her body and soul in the grave, because warning the remaining branches would let them escape. She returns with Void corruption embedded in her soul and falls into a coma. Amelia confronts Neo for knowingly sending her mother into a mission whose risks he concealed; Charlotte recognizes that Elizabeth trusted him enough to continue but also demands the future he believed was worth that trust. The Temple's destruction delays the expected apocalypse, yet the cost is borne in Elizabeth's body and in a family divided over whether the strategic result can justify it. (Chapters 197–199)

While unconscious, Elizabeth's mind repeats childhood abuse, coerced marriage, motherhood, and the decision she made at peak Exalted not to ascend. Godhood would have required leaving the family for whom she had finally built a home, so she chose their ordinary life over the next path. By Neo's return from the Shadow Trial, her aura and counterattacking mental defenses remain powerful, but her life is almost gone. Amelia stays beside her; Charlotte conceals the full prognosis; and Neo turns toward the Underworld, Everwitch Violet, and the Tartarus expedition because no accessible Exalted healer can purify a corruption strong enough to kill Elizabeth's soul permanently. (Chapters 232, 339–393)

Everwitch rebirth and recovery inside Tartarus

Within the Tartarus branch, Everwitch Violet answers the corruption through destruction rather than ordinary healing. The flower disintegrates Elizabeth's body, soul, and Seed of Existence, then rebuilds them from its essence. That rebirth also breaks her connection to her former World. Because Tartarus blocks outside connections, she begins attaching to the nightmare realm until Neo uses Crownless King to form a major bond and take the role of her World. When the process completes, Elizabeth is unawakened, but her memory, temperament, and concern for Neo remain continuous through the reconstructed existence. (Chapters 404–431)

Elizabeth's prior experience makes recovery exceptionally fast. She passes through Awakened, Mythic, and Empyrean within the compressed breakthrough, reaches peak Grade 5 Paragon, and then stops at Grade 1 Paragon because Neo—her new World—is still Paragon. Her elemental masteries rise to Savant and then Mid Supreme so violently that Water crushes her lungs, Blood escapes her control, and Gravity turns her surroundings into a lethal field. Neo and Zera restrain the elements until she wakes. Once Neo reaches First-Step Ascension, the World ceiling lifts and Elizabeth completes a new breakthrough to Grade 3 Exalted. (Chapters 431–441)

The rebirth expands rather than replaces her arsenal. Everwitch Violet grants Death, Darkness, Time, Holy, Life, and Void beside her existing Light, Water, Blood, and Space-related powers. She trains the new elements to Adept, treats Zera's superior Void as a challenge, and develops Avatar Form by drawing World Energy from Neo. She also teaches him Space applications and lets him copy her Water Concept, Tyrant. Their dependency is not one-directional: her growth strengthens Neo through Shared Growth, while his reserves let her sustain elemental contests that her formal rank and personal energy pool would otherwise lose. (Chapters 437–454)

Nightmare loops, Hades, Tartarus, and the Witch's death

The Hades-shaped Pillar makes the Tartarus fight a contest over history as well as strength. Elizabeth repeatedly reverses short spans after Neo is killed, leaving earlier attempts overwritten and Neo unable to remember them until he reads her memories. In Avatar Form, she draws immense World Energy, uses Tyrant to seize Hades's River of Time, and holds it long enough for Neo and Zera to interfere. Chaos eventually corrupts her control, and every reversal adds strain, but she keeps fighting through a severed hand, a pierced throat, and repeated timeline deaths. These Elizabeths are iterations of one participant in rewound attempts, not independent alternate characters. (Chapters 455–465)

Tartarus then turns Elizabeth into the focus of Neo's punishment. He kills her again and again while demanding that Neo accept the authority and identity he previously rejected. Elizabeth refuses the premise. She tells Neo that being Hades's son is only one part of who he is, warns him not to turn her into his shackles, and asks him to let her reincarnate rather than abandon his ideals to stop her death. Her response is active even when she cannot win the fight: she denies Tartarus the moral concession for which the physical torture was designed. (Chapters 469–471)

After Neo defeats the nightmare structure, he returns to a point where Elizabeth is still alive and spends the remaining time with her. Death explains too late that the Witch's Curse guarantees reincarnation but makes a dying incarnation impossible to save. Elizabeth reassures Neo, asks to remember him smiling, and dies when her heart stops and her Consciousness disappears. Neo stores the corpse, but neither his Cosmos nor his time travel can preserve that incarnation. The later pruning returns him to a present in which Elizabeth remains dead, making the search for her reincarnation a necessary continuation rather than a reversal of Chapter 531. (Chapters 509–535, especially 530–531)

Absence, reincarnation, and succession as Witch of Pride

Elizabeth's absence reorganizes the people she leaves behind. Amelia breaks with Henry Hargraves because he continues supporting Neo after the Temple of Void decision; Neo leaves Amelia memories of his life with Elizabeth in Tartarus; and he searches across histories once he can do so. Morrigan di Montaigne helps that search despite loving Neo herself. The crucial inference is geographic as well as temporal: if Elizabeth reincarnated beyond the Golden Domain, scanning the reachable past and future would never find her. (Chapters 544, 567–571, 687, and 702–718)

The reincarnated Elizabeth becomes the new Witch of Pride and enters the True Blessed Land, where she is known as Elder White. She recognizes Neo's death at a Breeding Farm and decides to protect the families he died defending even if her sect refuses them refuge. Leaving that institution saves her when Apollyon attacks it during his witch hunt. Elizabeth creates a hidden sect, brings the families into it, and acquires intelligence from Paul. By the time Neo senses her again, she has followed the Realm Divinity martial path and built a community that can survive outside the institutions that abandoned its members. (Chapters 687, 776, and 791–804)

Neo creates Tyrant Firmament during Elizabeth's absence by corrupting his mimicked Tyrant Concept. It has white hair and red eyes, later behaves with some of Elizabeth's direct care, and serves as an Overseer inside his sealed Cosmos. Those similarities do not make it Elizabeth's reincarnation or a copy of her soul. Chapter 509 explicitly distinguishes its Intent from Elizabeth's, while Chapters 618 and 620 show it living its own continuing life before Neo locates Elder White. The actual Elizabeth persists through the Witch's reincarnation; Tyrant Firmament persists separately as Neo's created Consciousness. (Chapters 509, 618–620, and 791–797)

True Blessed Land reunion and repair of the family

Elizabeth reaches Neo in the True Blessed Land after he has temporarily returned to a mortal body. She is now a Martial Artist called an Extreme God, later explicitly Third Realm, and explains why this realm suppresses Elemental and Divinity Gods while Realm Divinity and Heavenbreaker paths still function. Her power does not erase practical judgment: she hides Neo from Apollyon's Fate reading, moves him to the sect under a cover story, and has already established a council to manage the community. Their reunion confirms Elder White is not merely a lookalike carrying fragments; she remembers their promises, recognizes his habits, and resumes the relationships interrupted by death. (Chapters 797–807)

Their private relationship remains affectionate, possessive, and contentious. Elizabeth resents Neo's history with other women and briefly shuts him out, while Neo responds by publicly embarrassing himself until she lets him inside. She has the power to restrain his mortal body and the witch instinct to claim him exclusively, but her conduct also shows restraint that other witches find abnormal. Over the following years she finishes the former Witch of Pride's inheritance, stabilizes the sect, assigns Neo and Paul shared duties, and repeatedly forces Neo to face responsibilities he would prefer to evade through jokes or solitary sacrifice. (Chapters 804–814)

Elizabeth then enters Neo's Cosmos to repair relationships that power alone cannot fix. She tells Amelia the truth about her birth, the Witch of Pride, and Elizabeth's origin. Amelia answers that biology does not displace the mother who remained and raised her. Elizabeth also meets Morrigan with Persephone Hargraves's support. Although sharing Neo cuts directly against witch possessiveness and Elizabeth's Pride, she accepts Morrigan and Moraine as one continuity and invites Morrigan to return. Her compromise is motivated by Neo's happiness and by Celestial Worthy's warning that endless pursuit will turn his Fate into Eternal Transcendent. (Chapters 815–818)

Apollyon's end, Neo's departure, and the far-future wedding

For a time, Elizabeth, Moraine, Neo, and the larger family live without an immediate campaign consuming every day. That happiness does not remove the final enemies. Elizabeth accompanies Neo and martial allies against Apollyon, attacking from range and coordinating around Neo's rhythm until the combat escalates beyond what the supporting fighters can safely enter. Her presence matters because the battle is not simply a duel: it is the culmination of the witch hunt, the suppressed paths of the True Blessed Land, and the danger Celestial Worthy warned Elizabeth about. (Chapters 823–829)

Apollyon's final act seals advancement beyond the protected ceiling across the True Blessed Land and connected Cosmos. Elizabeth feels both the closure and the unsettling calm with which Neo receives it. The seal seems to end the endless ascent she feared, yet Neo immediately moves toward another sacrifice. After the Shadow Supreme is confronted and Moraine is freed, Elizabeth is prepared to use force if that is the only way to keep Neo home. She stops when he explains that leaving Jack behind would violate who he is and promises to marry Elizabeth and Moraine when he returns. Protection yields, painfully, to consent. (Chapters 831–833)

Neo does not return within the ordinary scale of the local history. In the far-future epilogue, Elizabeth attends Jack Hanma's wedding with the family whose names Eternal Transcendent has suppressed. The chapter does not supply Elizabeth with a new numeric Realm, Stage, or Step, and Neo's marriage promise is not resolved on-page. Her presence instead completes the character function established in Mermaid Country: she is part of a family memory strong enough to make a being who has outlived the Neo identity recognize that the younger name and its promises still belong to him. (Chapter 839)

Identity, disguises, and persistence

Elizabeth, Professor Anna, and Anna Rose

Professor Anna is not a separate professor whom Elizabeth replaces. Charlotte prepares the disguise after Elizabeth fakes her death, Chapter 57 introduces the disguised woman as Anna Rose, and later narration repeatedly identifies Elizabeth beneath the identity. The black hair with dark-blue underside, formal academy clothing, and reserved manner belong to that cover. “Professor Anna” is the form used by students and colleagues. A distinct person named Anna Hargraves exists elsewhere in the story, but the local evidence never identifies her as Elizabeth and she is not merged into this article. (Chapters 55–58, 72, 93, 119, 161, 344, and 351)

Tartarus branches, death, and Elder White

The Tartarus sequence contains restored pasts, Nightmare copies, and overwritten loops, but Elizabeth's active identity remains continuous through them. Everwitch Violet reforms the same Elizabeth from body, soul, Seed, memory, and Witch essence; subsequent time reversals overwrite attempts rather than creating separately continuing Elizabeths. Chapter 531 is different: the Witch's Curse removes her Consciousness from the dying incarnation and forces a reincarnation Neo cannot reconstruct locally. Elder White is that later Elizabeth, not the Tyrant Firmament and not an unrelated martial artist who inherits only her name. (Chapters 377–380, 431–471, 530–531, 544, 687, and 791–807)

Tyrant Firmament

Tyrant Firmament is a separate created Consciousness. Neo first copies Elizabeth's Tyrant Concept, then corrupts the mimicked Concept with Void until a new Shadow-and-Water energy becomes conscious. Its appearance resembles Elizabeth, and its later care for Obitus and Persephone reflects aspects observers associate with Elizabeth. Its Intent, however, is explicitly different. It develops language, preferences, work, and relationships of its own inside Neo's Cosmos while the real Elizabeth remains dead and later reincarnates elsewhere. Consequently, its achievements and persistence are never assigned to Elizabeth's progression. (Chapters 509–510 and 618–620)

Appearance and personality

Elizabeth's ordinary form is a pale, youthful woman with snow-white hair and red eyes. Exalted longevity makes her appear in her twenties despite the decades behind the Tyrant Queen title. Her presence is frequently more striking than her clothing: suppressed observers compare it to a deity or an overwhelming natural force, and her leaked Intent can make Neo's body and soul feel crushed even while she lies unconscious. As Elder White and Sect Master, the same white-haired, red-eyed appearance allows Vivi and other outside Gods to connect the martial artist with the Witch and woman Neo sought. (Chapters 10, 21, 191, 339–344, 797, and 802)

Anna Rose changes the visible markers without changing Elizabeth's underlying identity. She appears with black hair shaded dark blue underneath, red eyes, a light-blue shirt, black tie, leg-slit skirt, and overcoat. On other covert missions she uses a closer variation of her own face with black rather than white hair. These disguises are technically convincing enough for academy students and the public, but people who know her behavior notice the same clipped commands, protective favoritism, and refusal to tolerate incompetence. (Chapters 57–58, 72, and 191–193)

Elizabeth is direct, analytical, competitive, and frighteningly willing to use force. The reputation does not make her indiscriminately cruel. She cannot kill Clara and Paul after their betrayal, stops Amelia from pursuing revenge, avoids killing patrols when their information may matter, and gives refugees shelter when her sect refuses them. Care appears in practical acts: teaching, cooking, healing, arranging councils, checking a student's foundation, and imposing discipline on adults who behave like children. Her deepest flaw is the protective logic she shares with Neo—continuing alone until the task is finished—combined with witch possessiveness that can turn love into control. (Chapters 21–22, 55–167, 193–199, 437–469, and 797–818)

Pride is both vice and adaptive strength. Early Elizabeth needs her children or country to validate her life; later she insists that she can choose her own value. As the Witch of Pride, possessiveness makes sharing Neo feel like lowering herself, yet she reframes the choice: if Morrigan can sacrifice for Neo's happiness, Elizabeth's Pride will not let her be less capable of doing the same. This does not erase jealousy or anger. It shows that the identity can support restraint, responsibility, and compromise rather than only domination. (Chapters 19–21 and 805–818)

Powers and abilities

Exalted body, spear combat, and Intent

In her original life Elizabeth is one of Luminera's strongest Exalted Demigods and the youngest person known locally to reach that band. She uses a spear, reinforced body, high-speed elemental combinations, and precise battlefield reading rather than depending on a single overwhelming spell. Her pressure can suspend weaker enemies, telekinetically move bodies or weapons, and destroy structures at city scale. She remains dangerous while cursed, injured, or deprived of preparation because years of governing and combat have made threat evaluation habitual. (Chapters 10–27, 119, 165–167, 191–199, and 417)

Her Intent and mental defenses are equally developed. Attempts to enter her unconscious mind meet barriers with prepared counterattacks, and her subconscious can trap or crush a soul form while replaying memories. Intent continues leaking when she lies near death, proving that physical helplessness is not the same as spiritual weakness. These defenses are not perfectly discriminating: they initially attack Neo when he is trying to calm her, and close bonds are among the few routes through which help can reach her without breaking the shield by force. (Chapters 339–380)

Water, Blood, Space, and Light

Water is Elizabeth's signature element. She creates and controls enormous volumes, reads reflections and stored surface memories across a city, changes the signature of her Divine Energy through a Concept, and develops the Tyrant Concept to seize water whether she or an opponent created it. Because bodies contain water, Tyrant can bypass broad elemental resistance by taking control from within. It also extends to Rivers of Time under the story's elemental-clash logic, letting her briefly contest Hades when Avatar Form supplies the energy required. (Chapters 10–26, 191–193, 432, 454, and 463–465)

Her other original applications include Blood weapons, blood control, Gravity and Space manipulation, and Light. She produces spears from blood, crushes targets with localized or broad gravitational fields, forms black holes, and teaches Neo how to reduce a Space Domain to a limited area. Her Space specialization initially favors Gravity over portals, but later Technique Spirits give her direct teleportation and subspace access. Elemental mastery can overcome an opponent's resistance, yet rank and reserves still matter: without Neo's World Energy, Elizabeth acknowledges that higher-ranked bodies can outlast or overpower her even when she wins the elemental contest. (Chapters 431–454)

Elizabeth also created Ocean's Embrace, a Tremor-ranked Water spell that grants Undine's protection, underwater breathing and movement, temperature resistance, and a measure of physical and magical defense. She teaches it by directing her own Divine Energy through Neo's body, a method that transfers the activation path without surrendering her knowledge. The widely repeated claim that only two people can inherit the spell is a restriction Elizabeth invented to stop petitioners from pursuing her. (Chapters 23–26)

Everwitch Violet and expanded affinities

Everwitch Violet heals Elizabeth by making the old corrupted state cease to exist. It dissolves body, soul, and Seed, then reconstructs them and grants six new affinities: Death, Darkness, Time, Holy, Life, and Void. She retains Water, Blood, Space/Gravity, and Light, giving her a wide elemental base. Prior understanding restores the masteries quickly, but the initial surge is uncontrolled; Neo and Zera must prevent Elizabeth from drowning, crushing, or internally rupturing herself before consciousness and control catch up to power. (Chapters 431–437)

The new elements support both survival and offense. Life and Holy counter corruption and injury, Darkness broadens devouring and concealment options, Time enables reversal, and Void trains her to change or corrupt existing structures. She raises the newly acquired elements to Adept and later states that her overall elemental mastery is Supreme (Mid), moving toward High. “Moving toward” is not a completed High rank. Darkness, Holy, and Life being near Expert in Chapter 437 likewise does not establish an intermediate Expert attainment before the later Supreme statement. (Chapters 437 and 454)

World Avatar and Shared Growth

When Everwitch rebirth breaks Elizabeth's old World connection, Neo supplies a replacement through Crownless King. The major bond makes her existence dependent on him in the structural sense that inhabitants depend on a World, and Shared Growth moves benefits in both directions. Her sudden climb greatly increases Neo's stats; later, each of their breakthroughs changes what the other can sustain. This bond is why Elizabeth stops at Paragon while Neo is Paragon and reaches Exalted only after his First-Step World Core becomes a stronger foundation. (Chapters 431–441)

In Avatar Form, Elizabeth taps directly into Neo's World Energy. The reserve lets her maintain spells and elemental clashes against targets whose raw energy pools exceed hers, including the effort to hold Hades's River of Time. Neo cannot automatically control her body or pass every ability through this incomplete form, and the bond does not make Elizabeth a Heavenbreaker. Borrowed energy also does not raise her physical statistics or formal Demigod grade by itself. Avatar is therefore a power supply and structural status, not a substitute rank. (Chapters 454, 463–465, 776, 791, and 797)

Witch of Pride and reincarnation

Elizabeth becomes a witch through the sequence culminating in her Chapter 531 death and later reincarnation. The Witch's Curse means ordinary death cannot end her continuing existence, but it also prevents Neo from arresting the death of the current incarnation: the Consciousness leaves, and the survivor must find who she becomes next. Local witch history says only the Witch of Gluttony possesses the exceptional route that truly kills another witch and opens the office for a successor. This is why Elizabeth can become the new Witch of Pride after the previous holder dies. (Chapters 465, 531, 686–687, and 704–717)

In the True Blessed Land, Elizabeth inherits the former Witch of Pride's knowledge, sealed resources, remnants, and Technique Spirits. The succession amplifies traits already visible in the Tyrant Queen—authority, control, and difficulty accepting emotional dependence. Witch instincts also produce possessiveness strong enough that Vivi expects Elizabeth to imprison Neo. The expectation is a real limitation, but not a complete description: Elizabeth spends a month apart from him rather than alter his mind, accepts his relationship with Moraine/Morrigan, and turns inherited power toward refugees, the sect, and Apollyon's enemies. (Chapters 797–818)

Realm Divinity martial path and Technique Spirits

Elizabeth follows the Realm Divinity path available in the True Blessed Land. The local terms identify her as a Martial Artist (Extreme God) and, explicitly, a Third Realm Martial Artist. This path works where ordinary Elemental Gods and Divinity Gods are suppressed. Her attained Realm is separate from existence stages: Chapter 806 says she has Stage 6 existence but combat capability reaching Stage 9 because her martial path and large collection of Technique Spirits let her overcome the comparison. Stage 9 is therefore a combat assessment, not her attained existence rank. (Chapters 802–807)

Her demonstrated Technique Spirits manipulate ice, teleportation, time or bodily age, subspace, healing, and battlefield support. A Time Spirit can alter Neo's mortal body; an ice Spirit creates precise chains and freezes an entire arena audience; teleportation crosses enormous distances; and healing restores Paul after combat. She completes the former Witch's inheritance and can fight beside Neo against Apollyon, but no named fourth martial Realm is attained. The path's own rules state that Martial Artists die on attempting a Fourth Realm, and Apollyon's later seal closes advancement beyond the protected ceiling across the connected worlds. Investigation, disguise, and leadership

Elizabeth combines combat power with investigation. She recognizes high-level disguises, reconstructs movements from water memories, tracks residual Divine Energy, changes her signature to satisfy a ward, and distinguishes Neo's apparent regression count from the much longer history suggested by his strength. These skills make Anna Rose credible as a covert identity and let Elizabeth convert Neo's indirect clues into the destruction of the Temple of Void. Her approach is strongest when evidence exists; Neo's incomplete explanations remain capable of sending her into a threat without the context needed to weigh its total cost. (Chapters 55–58, 161, and 191–199)

As ruler, teacher, and sect master, Elizabeth builds functioning organizations. Mermaid Country gains international independence under her reign; her academy class receives equal discipline across bloodline divisions; and her hidden sect shelters families rejected as resources by cultivators. In the final community she creates a council before leaving for Neo's Cosmos, ensuring daily work continues without depending on her personal presence. This corrects part of the Tyrant Queen model, in which a country protected by one irreplaceable ruler destabilizes the instant that ruler disappears. (Chapters 10–12, 55–161, 797–818)

Limitations

Elizabeth's powers repeatedly exceed what her body or circumstances can safely carry. The first curse defeats her through years of accumulation rather than a direct contest. Void corrupts her soul beyond ordinary healing. Everwitch recovery unleashes elements faster than conscious control can return. Time reversal creates chaotic elementals and physical strain. Supreme mastery cannot replace higher physical rank or supply, while Avatar Form remains dependent on Neo's accessible World Energy. Even reincarnation has a cost: it saves the continuing witch but makes the dying incarnation impossible to keep. (Chapters 10–22, 197–199, 339–386, 431–465, and 531)

Her behavioral limitations are equally consequential. Elizabeth's default response to danger is to act personally and finish the entire problem, which turns the Temple of Void victory into years of suspended death. Pride makes explanation difficult, and witch possessiveness can turn affection into restraint, punishment, or threats. She improves by building a council, telling Amelia the full truth, and negotiating with Morrigan, but the impulses do not disappear. Her final choice to let Neo leave for Jack is difficult precisely because force would be easier for her than accepting the risk another person chooses. (Chapters 191–199, 797–818, and 833)

Neo Hargraves

Neo Hargraves begins as a weak but dangerous negotiator who sees a way through Elizabeth's curse. He becomes her student under the Anna identity, the strategist whose Temple plan nearly kills her, the World that restores her, and the partner who refuses to abandon her across death and reincarnation. Elizabeth teaches and protects him while challenging the belief that he must carry every cost alone. Their relationship includes manipulation, jealousy, intimacy, and sincere reciprocal care; the final marriage promise is made before Neo leaves for Jack but is not completed on-page. (Chapters 10–27, 55–167, 191–199, 377–531, 704–718, and 791–839)

Amelia de Beaufort

Amelia de Beaufort is Elizabeth's niece by birth and daughter by every lived family role. Elizabeth takes Amelia from her secret twin sister, raises her, seals evidence of Poseidon's lineage, and presents her publicly as a daughter. Amelia's loyalty survives the Mermaid Country revolt, but Elizabeth's Temple injury and death turn grief into anger at Neo and Henry. When the reincarnated Elizabeth finally tells her everything, Amelia rejects biology as the decisive measure: Elizabeth is her mother because she stayed, protected her, and built the relationship. Clara Winterfeld and Paul

Clara Winterfeld and Paul are Elizabeth's Spell-born children. Their rebellion and curse nearly kill her, yet she expels rather than executes them and prevents Amelia from turning revenge into the family's next foundation. Later histories reveal that Paul remains entangled in the plans of Julie, Ultris, and Apollyon's household. Elizabeth treats him as family despite the old wound, forces him and Neo into shared sect duties, and imagines Clara as the more sensible child who might have mediated between them. (Chapters 12–22, 377–379, 571, 797–818)

Charlotte

Charlotte is Elizabeth's master, rescuer, and principal. She gives Elizabeth the Anna Rose identity when the former queen has no plan, protects her survival from outside powers, and blocks interventions that would expose her or overwhelm academy missions. Charlotte also holds Neo accountable when his strategy places Elizabeth near death. Their bond is not uncomplicated obedience: Elizabeth ignores limits when family is threatened, while Charlotte alternates between command, protection, and the frustration of watching her disciple choose danger knowingly. (Chapters 55–75, 119–124, 140, 165–199, and 339–393)

Zera

Zera is a fellow witch, Void trainer, rival, and Tartarus ally. She understands Everwitch rebirth well enough to stop Neo from interrupting it, restrains Elizabeth's uncontrolled Gravity, and trains both partners in Void during the Abyss journey. Her teasing and physical provocations deliberately exploit Elizabeth's competitiveness and jealousy, sometimes leaving Neo punished for a situation he could not control. When the Hades battle becomes unwinnable, Zera's knowledge that witches reincarnate helps her treat self-sacrifice as protection rather than simple annihilation. (Chapters 423–465)

Morrigan and Moraine

Morrigan di Montaigne and Moraine embody the relationship Elizabeth would most naturally reject. Morrigan helps Neo search for Elizabeth even though doing so costs her own desired future. Elizabeth eventually accepts Morrigan and Moraine's claimed continuity, meets Morrigan directly, and offers a shared relationship rather than demand Neo erase either history. The compromise remains emotionally difficult, but during Neo's final departure Elizabeth and Moraine hold him together and accept the same promise of return and marriage. (Chapters 702–718, 812–818, and 831–833)

Persephone Hargraves

Persephone Hargraves treats Elizabeth openly as a daughter-in-law. The warmth embarrasses Elizabeth but also supplies the uncomplicated welcome her earlier family life rarely provided. Persephone helps calm her before the meeting with Morrigan, trusts her not to destroy the prospective family, and investigates Celestial Worthy's warning with Hades. At Neo's departure, Persephone is the person who physically separates Elizabeth and Moraine from him, showing Elizabeth another version of protection: helping someone leave to fulfill a chosen promise rather than holding him where he is safe. Replica of Poseidon's Trident

The Replica of Poseidon's Trident is given to Elizabeth when her secret twin sister leaves Amelia in her care. Elizabeth seals it beneath Mount Columbus before her expected death because its Immortal-slaying quality makes careless possession dangerous. She promises it to Neo as payment for saving her, while concealing the item's identity from Amelia during their coded negotiation. (Chapters 10, 19–20, and 25–26)

Everwitch Violet

Everwitch Violet is the rebirth medium used against Elizabeth's Void-corrupted condition. It is not a gentle restorative item: it destroys her existing body, soul, and Seed before reconstituting them, grants six new affinities, and breaks the old World connection. The result saves Elizabeth and enables witch continuity, but also creates the temporary unawakened reset and the need for Neo to become her replacement World. (Chapters 386, 404–431)
