Kayzel

Kayzel is Central Academy's feared leading student and the biological son of Idore, born through a discontinued project involving Idore's magical essence. His entitlement and violence make him an antagonist to Wilton's students, but the Grand Magus system eventually treats him as expendable, forcing him to recognize in others the abuses he once practiced himself.

Biography

Central Academy's protected prodigy

Kayzel enters the exchange as Central Academy's unofficial strongest student, protected by his lineage and a culture that ignores his bullying. He follows Wilton's group because humiliating confident weaker students appeals to him. After Piba and Yolden defeat him and Rupert in a wind-control event, Kayzel turns a minor loss into a challenge to his status. He corners Piba and Moze with three companions, breaks their bodies, and deliberately disrupts their mana cores while insisting that academy rules do not apply to Central's elite. (Chapters 1393–1400)

The exchange later gives Kayzel a public stage on which to demonstrate the talent beneath that protection. He dominates an opponent through controlled lightning and Light healing, then fights Raze while concealing his unique speed until pressed. Raze defeats him decisively and exposes the limits of a prodigy accustomed to institutional advantage. Kayzel still participates in Central's final team and accepts an enhancement pill under Ibarin's demand for victory, choosing obedience even though the Grand Magus's conditions leave little room for refusal. Discarded by the Grand Magus

The pill converts Kayzel and the participating Central students into unstable living mana cores, granting overwhelming pure-mana output while destroying the stars around their hearts. Raze extracts that power to keep them from dying, permanently ending their ability to cast. Rather than panic, Kayzel tells Raze he may truly be able to defeat the Grand Magus and appears almost relieved when the inherited expectation attached to his magic is removed. He then identifies the pills, not Wilton, as the cause and accepts Kelly's warning that Ibarin knowingly used them. (Chapters 1478–1484)

When Central staff attempt to take the powerless students away, Kayzel shields Nannan from lightning, directs the group to scatter, and credits Kelly for fighting to protect them even after her Dark Magic is revealed. He accepts Alen's protection and the effective end of his Central Academy identity, questions Raze about his plan to kill the Grand Magus, and watches Ibarin's defeat from concealment. His final appearance confirms that he is alive and able to reassess his humiliating loss, but it does not restore his mana core or establish a later profession. (Chapters 1485–1515)

Appearance and personality

Kayzel is a blond youth with spiked hair and a small scar above one eyebrow. Although elite healing could have removed the scar, he retains it; the corpus does not reveal its cause. In public competition he can present a calm, almost regal manner, but his reputation for targeting weaker students and making some disappear creates fear well beyond ordinary rivalry. (Chapters 1393 and 1454)

He begins entitled, vindictive, and certain that power exempts him from rules. Defeat and abandonment expose a more perceptive side: Kayzel recognizes that Ibarin sacrificed the students knowingly, protects companions while powerless, and judges Kelly by her actions rather than the institution's account of the Dark Guild. This development does not erase his assault on Moze and Piba; it shows the abuser recognizing the same system's cruelty only after becoming one of its disposable tools. Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Elemental spellcraft and control

Before losing his core, Kayzel commands wind, fire, lightning, and Light Magic. He can combine wind with a partner, condense fireballs hot enough to inflict internal burns, heal deep cuts with Light, and shape lightning for cutting, paralysis, sustained restraint, or precise nerve disruption. He can also curve a bolt around an earth barrier. These applications demonstrate exceptional control and reserves, but coordinated wind defeats him when he cancels a prepared spell too late, and Raze's broader skill overwhelms him. (Chapters 1396–1399 and 1454–1468)

Kayzel can force condensed magic into another mage's core at close range. The target must first be suppressed, and the technique requires power, control, and proximity; against the restrained Moze and Piba it disrupts their natural mana flow and would have permanently ended their casting without Raze and Safa's intervention. This is a deliberate hostile application of his spellcraft, not his unique bloodline trait. (Chapters 1398–1402)

Bloodline super speed

Kayzel's unique trait produces superhuman movement speed that lets him blur between positions and attack before ordinary students can respond. Raze identifies it as a bloodline trait rather than an affinity, which is why extraction cannot take it directly. The trait still requires functioning mana: after the enhancement destroys Kayzel's core, the students explain that their traits no longer manifest. The corpus does not show Kayzel regaining access afterward. (Chapters 1398, 1464–1468, and 1482–1484)

Temporary pure-mana transformation and permanent loss

Ibarin's pill temporarily wraps Kayzel's body in immense mana and turns him into a living core capable of firing affinity-neutral beams. Such pure mana consumes weaker elemental spells rather than entering the usual affinity balance, but the transformation breaks the stars anchored around the heart and would eventually make the heart implode. Raze's extraction saves Kayzel's life by stripping away the unstable power. The demonstrated cost is permanent: Kayzel cannot sense mana, cast a silence spell, or resume his former academy magic in the remaining corpus. (Chapters 1478–1484)

Relationships

• Idore: Kayzel is Idore's biological son through an abandoned magical reproduction project, but Idore does not publicly recognize or raise him. The lineage gives Kayzel privilege and expectation without a demonstrated close parent-child relationship.
• Raze Cromwell: Raze defeats Kayzel, later extracts the lethal pill power and brings him to safety. Kayzel comes to see him as a possible liberator from the Grand Magus despite fearing his Dark Magus identity.
• Moze and Piba: Kayzel retaliates against their academy by assaulting them and attacking their cores. Their later group battle gives the pair a chance to strike back, but Kayzel's conduct remains the defining link.
• Kelly: Kayzel initially participates in the Central hierarchy around Kelly, then accepts her diagnosis of Ibarin's betrayal. When she exposes Dark Magic to save the students, he argues that her protective actions matter more than the label attached to her.
• Alen: Alen shelters Kayzel and the other fugitive students, offering protection for them and their families. Kayzel accepts despite having no family he asks Alen to secure.
