Brack

Brack is a former Behemoth Clan student whose failure at the faction tournament leaves him without a clan. Initially crude and proud, he becomes a Flendon guard, risks his life to delay his former clan's invasion, and repays Raze Cromwell's protection by defending him when he is helpless.

Biography

Behemoth representative at the faction tournament

Brack enters the faction tournament as the Behemoth Clan's student representative, physically powerful and conscious that his performance reflects on a major Demonic Faction clan. His first group events go badly: anger disrupts cooperation, he attacks a beast recklessly, and the Demonic team finishes behind its rivals. Ashamed before Sha Mo, Brack promises to improve because he believes he no longer deserves to represent the clan. (Chapters 612–624)

He remains aggressive through the later trials, takes second in a strength event, and seizes the central objective during the final team contest. His singles loss then prompts Sha Mo to expel both Brack and every blood relative, threatening the family whose only warrior is Brack. Raze catches him as he collapses, offers Crimson Crane protection, and faces Sha Mo's anger rather than withdrawing that lifeline. (Chapters 634–648)

Guarding Flendon against his former clan

With no Behemoth home to return to and Raze absent, Brack settles in Flendon and works as a town guard. He has changed enough to intervene when another guard mistreats a prospective resident, even though his clumsy help damages her belongings. When a murdered guard arrives bearing the Behemoth Clan's warning, Brack recognizes its method, alerts the town, and uses his experience to prepare people who otherwise do not understand the approaching army. (Chapters 834–837)

Brack knows Flendon cannot defeat twenty thousand warriors, so he tries to buy time by challenging Sha Mo to a duel and staking his faith on Raze's return. The clan sends the stronger Umonke instead. Although terrified and outclassed, Brack repeatedly rises after his sword is cut apart and his body is beaten, turning what should have crushed the defenders' morale into a reason for them to cheer. His stand delays the advance until the Crimson Crane begins arriving. (Chapters 837–854)

The defense confirms that Brack's new allegiance is chosen rather than merely forced by exile. He fights the clan that trained him because Flendon's residents have become his responsibility, and Raze's eventual defeat of Sha Mo vindicates the risk. By the time Brack next meets Raze directly, he is no longer seeking only a replacement clan; he wants to assist the person whose earlier intervention gave him somewhere to live. (Chapters 841–925)

Protecting Raze and joining the coalition

Brack accompanies Raze to the Neverfall Clan and witnesses Belil's final battle. When Raze collapses afterward, Brack carries information to his companions, spends his own money on medicine, returns with supplies, and nurses him despite not understanding the transformation taking place. The task matters to Brack because Raze protected him when Sha Mo discarded him; he regards abandoning the unconscious mage as a betrayal of that debt. (Chapters 925–990)

Fing and Han find Belil dead and blame Raze. Brack cannot defeat either brother, but he argues for the Demonic principle they claim to follow and physically blocks them when persuasion fails. He uses the Behemoth Clan's controllable Qi technique, continues restraining them while being cut and beaten, and is about to be killed when Raze recovers. Raze then carries Brack away, making the rescue reciprocal rather than one-sided. (Chapters 991–993)

Brack subsequently attends Raze's strategy meetings, travels among the coalition's talented Demonic fighters, and joins the force assembled for the Golden Globe war. Raze privately counts him among the loyal people he would rather equip than politically useful strangers. Brack's latest direct appearance leaves him alive in the coalition meeting before the war; a later farewell recollection confirms that he remains one of the people who visits before Raze leaves Pagna. Appearance and personality

Brack is a tall, heavily muscled young man whose thick black beard makes him look older than the other academy students. His physical build reflects Behemoth training, while later wounds show the cost of repeatedly confronting stronger warriors. The corpus does not establish a lasting change to his appearance after he reaches the middle stage. (Chapters 612, 842, and 938)

He begins crude, confrontational, and quick to anger. Brack insults the Light Faction crowd, mocks teammates, kicks furniture after losing, and equates his worth with representing a powerful clan. That behavior coexists with shame rather than effortless arrogance: failure makes him avoid Sha Mo's gaze and promise improvement, showing how strongly clan judgment governs him before his exile. (Chapters 621–623 and 637)

Life in Flendon redirects the same impulsiveness toward protection. Brack still breaks things and speaks without tact, but he intervenes in abuse, warns civilians, challenges an army, spends his savings on another person's recovery, and refuses to move when death is the likely result. His courage is not fearlessness; the text repeatedly shows him frightened, worried, or awkward while choosing to remain. (Chapters 834–842, 950, and 990–993)

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Middle-stage Pagna cultivation

Brack is a Pagna warrior trained by the Behemoth Clan. He is at the peak of the initial stage when he duels Umonke and has reached the middle stage by the time he witnesses Raze fight Belil and later confronts Fing. Cultivation reinforces his muscular body, speed, striking power, and resistance to ordinary force, but a shared stage does not erase differences in technique or experience: Fing handles him easily despite both being middle-stage warriors. (Chapters 842, 938, and 991–992)

He favors fists, kicks, footwork, and direct pressure, carrying a sword only for situations that call for it. Umonke's superior blade cuts through Brack's Qi-reinforced weapon without resistance, and repeated blows overwhelm his body, establishing that persistence is not invulnerability. Brack's most consequential physical application is defensive endurance: he keeps standing long enough to delay Umonke and later remains conscious while shielding Raze from attacks he cannot properly counter. Behemoth Clan Qi control

Brack knows an upper-member Behemoth technique that emits a continuous stream of Qi and controls it like a snake outside the body. He can make the invisible force rise from the ground, strike from an unexpected direction, form two large snake-like attacks, or wrap around multiple people to restrain them. Surprise lets him land an initial hit on Fing and briefly hold both brothers away from Raze. (Chapter 992)

The technique remains subject to the user's cultivation and an opponent's control. Fing recognizes the hidden stream after one exchange, catches it despite not seeing it, and breaks the constructs by force; Han's unseen attacks then cut Brack while Brack maintains a restraint. No later chapter shows a named upgrade or higher cultivation stage, so middle stage and this demonstrated level of control remain his latest confirmed state. (Chapter 992)

Field judgment

Brack's time with the Behemoth Clan gives him practical knowledge of its intimidation tactics and army behavior. He recognizes a corpse sent on horseback as an imminent invasion warning, estimates that a duel can delay rather than defeat the army, and uses Sha Mo's pride to stop a mass advance temporarily. These are learned judgments, not a supernatural sense, and his plans still depend on allies arriving before the delay ends. (Chapters 834–842)

Relationships

• Raze Cromwell: Raze protects Brack from Sha Mo's retaliation and gives him a place after the Behemoth Clan abandons him. Brack later repays that intervention through Flendon's defense, medical care, and a near-fatal stand against Belil's sons.
• Sha Mo: Sha Mo is Brack's former clan head and the authority whose rejection leaves him displaced. Brack eventually challenges Sha Mo's invading army, choosing Flendon over the clan status he once feared losing.
• Lince: Lince supervises Brack's Demonic Faction tournament team and later witnesses his defense of Flendon. Brack's growth from disruptive contestant to self-sacrificing guard unfolds across those shared crises.
• Belil: Brack witnesses Belil's final fight and is entrusted by circumstance with caring for the incapacitated Raze afterward. Belil's death places him between Raze and the grieving Neverfall heirs.
• Fing and Han: Brack cannot match either brother, but he refuses to let them kill Raze while Raze is unconscious. His argument, restraint technique, and willingness to absorb their attacks delay them until Raze wakes.
• Fixteen: Fixteen helps organize Flendon's defense and supplies Dark Magus pills to its fighters. He and Brack share the decision to trust that resistance can last until stronger allies arrive.

Items

• Ordinary sword: Brack carries a conventional sword as a secondary weapon. Umonke cuts through it despite Brack reinforcing it with Qi, and the corpus does not establish a replacement with a unique name or enchantment. (Chapter 842)
• Medical supplies and Dark Magus healing pill: Brack spends his remaining money on herbs, bandages, bedding, and a healing pill marked “DM” for the unconscious Raze. The supplies are consumed during treatment and are not established as Brack's continuing equipment. (Chapters 990–991)
