Han

Han Narfous is Belil's eldest son and one half of the Neverfall Clan's feared pair of enforcers. His compressed Qi becomes especially lethal through a flute acquired on an earlier mission. He should not be confused with the unrelated shopkeeper named Han whose corpse is discovered in Chapter 36.

Biography

Belil's eldest enforcer

Han enters the story at Rayna's wedding, where his formal greeting and careful appraisal contrast with his younger brother Fing's impulsive challenge to Raze. Both brothers have completed the near-impossible missions Belil assigns, becoming the clan's public fighting arm, but Han more often restrains Fing and reads the situation before acting. When Sha Mo threatens the ceremony, Han catches the clan head's descending club with one hand and compressed Qi until Belil ends the confrontation. (Chapters 569–574)

Belil later orders Han and Fing to protect Rayna during the Behemoth Clan's invasion without aiding the rest of Flendon. They intervene only when Raze's fire threatens their sister, Han splitting the attack with his flute while Fing absorbs the remaining flames with his separate gourd. At Rayna's request, they then confront Raze's uncontrolled breakthrough and are decisively beaten, but still protect him from opportunistic survivors after he collapses. Han accepts Raze as the strongest “brother” in their informal hierarchy rather than exploiting his helpless state. (Chapters 898–902)

Succession conflict and sudden death

After Belil's death, Han and Fing resist the elders' proposal to make Raze head of the Neverfall Clan. Han argues from ownership, lineage, and service: the clan is their home, and outsiders should not decide its future. Raze's display makes clear that the brothers cannot enforce their claim against him, so Han ends the confrontation and proceeds with the funeral rather than beginning a losing family battle. His position remains opposed, but it is bounded by his responsibility to the ceremony and the clan. (Chapters 1126–1132)

While Han and Fing carry Belil's coffin, unseen attacks begin exploding the elders' heads. Han carefully lowers the coffin and looks up, only for his own head to burst without a visible projectile or detectable Qi. Fing and the spectators cannot intervene; later evidence identifies the attacker as the Deleter Garlon and associates the effect with his line-of-sight spatial power. Han is buried with Belil and the slain elders, ending his succession claim before it can develop further. (Chapters 1132–1133 and 1176)

Appearance and personality

Han is tall and handsome, dressed in dark grey clothing with a flute at his waist. Half of his head is shaved, while the remaining black hair is tied and falls to his waist. He stands straight, speaks with formal manners, and studies Raze directly on meeting him, creating a controlled contrast with Fing's shorter, louder, and more casual presentation. (Chapter 569)

His restraint does not make him gentle. Han and Fing are feared because they complete whatever tasks Belil sets, and Han is willing to threaten a traditional fight over the Neverfall succession. Yet he can acknowledge superior strength, protect Raze after losing to him, and stop an internal confrontation when escalation would only damage the family and funeral he is trying to preserve. Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Han is a middle-stage Pagna warrior with a large Qi reserve and an exceptional ability to compress Qi into a small point before releasing it explosively. He developed that control while surviving Belil's impossible missions, and it lets him overpower peers at the same nominal stage. Even without the flute, he can gather lingering Qi through a spinning movement, concentrate it into a fist, and redirect a large Dark Magic projectile rather than allow it to consume him. (Chapters 574 and 901)

The flute is an artifact-assisted extension of that cultivated skill. Han inputs compressed Qi, and the resulting notes carry cutting, projectile-like waves that can split a fireball, deflect a Dark Pulse, attack at range, or slice multiple bodies apart. It can even threaten crowds through sound propagation, but it requires air and an audible note: Raze's wind control removes the local air movement, silencing the instrument and preventing its attacks. The flute enhances Han; it is not the origin of his Qi compression. (Chapters 898 and 900–902)

Relationships

• Fing: Fing is Han's younger brother, constant mission partner, and complementary fighter. Han's flute redirects attacks while Fing's gourd absorbs them, and Fing is devastated by Han's instantaneous death.
• Belil: Belil is Han's father, clan head, and the source of the impossible missions that shaped his cultivation. Han's defense of the succession is inseparable from his service to Belil's clan.
• Rayna: Han protects his sister on Belil's order and later grants her plea to stop Raze alive, despite the Neverfall family's usual rejection of sentimental obligation.
• Raze Cromwell: Han first evaluates Raze as a prospective relative, then loses to him and acknowledges his superiority. They remain divided over clan succession without becoming personal mortal enemies.

• Compressed-Qi flute: A special artifact Han acquired during an earlier battle. It converts his condensed Qi into ranged sound waves, but air removal can silence it. The corpus does not establish its custody after Han's death. (Chapters 898 and 900–902)
• Fing's gourd: This belongs to Fing, not Han. Their paired use during the fireball defense can make the two artifacts appear like one combined technique, but the gourd's absorption effect is never attributed to Han. (Chapters 898 and 900)
