Amir
Amir, whose full name is Amir Huthell, is the clanless Wanderer who serves as vice principal of the Central Academy while secretly leading the Bonum Society. His protection of vulnerable students, long infiltration of Pagna's institutions, command in the war for the Golden Globe, and later intervention in Alterian make him both an administrator and a formidable Hybrid combatant.
Biography
A Clanless Vice Principal
Amir first appears overseeing the academy's second-year students, outwardly serving as one of Principal Murkel's most trusted aides. Unlike the five major clan leaders, he belongs to no clan and calls himself a Wanderer. That apparent neutrality gives him standing with the lesser Dark Faction clans, whose interests he is willing to voice even when the dominant clans would prefer silence. When Murkel's lethal training policies threaten to turn stronger students into enemies, Amir warns him of the danger, but his subordinate office leaves him unable to reverse the principal's decision. (Chapters 119, 249, and 327)
His restraint does not make him passive. Amir invokes his academy authority against Feebie to save Raze Cromwell, terminates the disastrous assessment, evacuates students during the subsequent beast attack, and volunteers to enter a portal when Raze is believed trapped. His investigation brings him into conflict with the Crimson Crane, where the ease and composure of his kicking style reveal that his administrative role conceals exceptional strength. He also persuades Murkel to readmit the Red Headband students. Much later, Amir explains that the vice-principalship was itself part of his Bonum mission: it placed him inside the Dark Faction, where he could weaken its established powers and search for the Society's lost relic. (Chapters 368–418, 481, 782, and 1077)
Resistance inside Murkel's Academy
After the students return, Amir takes direct responsibility for training Safa, Simyon, and Liam for the faction tournament. Their usefulness gives him leverage to restrain Murkel's treatment of them, although that protection is conditional and cannot stop every act of violence. Murkel comes to regard Amir's undisclosed plans, rather than the students alone, as the deeper threat. Amir therefore works within an increasingly hostile institution while preserving young fighters who may be able to change it. (Chapters 481, 610, 660, and 683)
When Murkel's scheme culminates in open battle, Amir abandons the limits of his academy persona and fights him in a partially transformed Hybrid state alongside Raze, Dame Narfous, and Alba. He argues that Murkel's ambition is meaningless if Pagna itself is destroyed, showing that his opposition concerns the world's survival as well as Bonum's private objective. The later arrival of Bonum members also reveals that Amir had arranged Dame's rescue and judged him worth preserving. This intervention breaks Amir permanently from Murkel's command and brings the hidden organization behind him into the open. (Chapters 686–690)
Bonum's Emergence and Dark Faction Rule
Amir brings Raze and his allies to the Bonum refuge, where he identifies himself as the Society's leader and explains the history behind his secrecy. Amir and his people were born in Pagna, but descend from refugees whose original world was destroyed and who reached Pagna through the Golden Globe. Bonum members accept Hybridization because they lack Alter's artifacts, and their central inherited duty is to recover the Globe. The revelation recasts Amir's academy career as a multi-generational mission rather than ordinary faction politics. (Chapters 756–782)
Although Bonum helps remove Murkel, Amir recognizes that a clanless figure cannot simply command the Dark Faction's acceptance. He therefore supports Raze as its ruler while using Bonum's intelligence network and personnel to stabilize the territory and continue the search. Once the faction is under allied control, Amir moves the Society's work out of its obsolete underground refuge and helps arrange the public ceremonies that legitimize the new order. He later remains at the academy with Bonum forces and accepts Mantis as a student, turning a post once used for infiltration into a base for reconstruction and instruction. (Chapters 783–808 and 1015)
The Coalition War
As conflict with the Light Faction and Alter becomes unavoidable, Amir uses the truth about the Golden Globe and the danger to Pagna to unite almost all of the Dark Faction clans. He gathers an army numbering roughly ten thousand, chooses to bypass settlements rather than spend strength on needless sieges, and shares coalition leadership with Lince and Rayna. When morale falters beside the Demonic Faction's advance, he turns rivalry into motivation, keeping former enemies moving toward a common battlefield and objective. (Chapters 1191–1205)
Amir delays the general assault while Raze's magic can still reshape the battle, then orders the army forward when Raze is exhausted and exposed. Fighting beside Lince, he repeatedly places his transformed body between Raze and Enaxx, using enlarged Hybrid limbs to withstand fire and drive Qi into defensive strikes. The defense has a clear limit: repeated attacks from multiple Enaxx bodies leave him gravely wounded. Believing he may die, Amir nevertheless accepts the risk because Bonum has come close to reclaiming its inheritance and future descendants could finish the task. He survives, helps recover Raze, and remains involved through the coalition's victory. (Chapters 1206–1222)
Reclaiming the Golden Globe
After the war, Raze entrusts negotiations with the defeated Light Faction to Amir, Lince, and Rayna. Amir secures permission for Bonum to search the imperial city and quickly locates the Globe, but limits knowledge of its hiding place to trusted Society members so that it cannot immediately become another contested weapon. Because Pagna is now Bonum's home, he asks Raze to help the factions reach a settlement without another round of bloodshed. Raze's subsequent proposal for a united Pagna gives Amir a political route beyond the covert weakening of rival institutions that had defined his earlier mission. (Chapters 1267–1270)
Amir then serves as the Globe's custodian and guide while displaced travelers return to their worlds. He explains the monthly activation window, the need for a strong mental connection to the destination, and the danger that stray emotions can open the wrong route. Bonum does not use the restored relic to abandon Pagna; instead, Amir entrusts it to Raze for the final passage to Alterian, instructing him to carry it through last and return it to its rightful people. The decision resolves the immediate rescue effort while making Raze personally responsible for Bonum's recovered legacy. (Chapters 1275–1277)
The Alterian Campaign and Reconstruction
When Raze later needs help against the Grand Magus's regime, Amir crosses to Alterian with a Bonum Hybrid force and warriors drawn from Pagna's formerly hostile factions. His Hybrids take the front line, absorbing spells so they can close with mages, while Amir coordinates their attack on a mobile tower's barrier. Once it breaks, he fully transforms an arm and crushes the tower's base. During the later confrontation with Idore, he trusts Liam's timing and commits his strongest attack to the coalition's coordinated plan rather than pursuing an independent strike. (Chapters 1721–1724 and 1754)
Victory leaves Amir and the other Pagna fighters stranded for a month by the Globe's cooldown, so he helps Raze understand the practical and political aftermath in Alterian. He reports the return of sovereign nations and a new system of communication rather than another single global ruler. Back in Pagna, Amir remains the Bonum Society's current head but plans to resume his academy position after completing the Society's reorganization, motivated by his enjoyment of the work and trust in the people still there. A friendly full-power test against Raze ends in a swift loss, establishing that Amir retains his Hybrid form but is far below Raze's latest strength. (Chapters 1765–1766 and 1773)
Appearance and personality
In his first scene, Amir wears a black academy uniform and has two tied ponytails that extend to his waist. His Hybrid form changes his silhouette dramatically: partial transformations produce enlarged, weapon-like arms, while his latest full transformation makes him towering and heavily muscled, with elongated claws and a flaring aura. The corpus does not identify the exact dimensional beast joined to him. (Chapters 119, 686, 1218, and 1773)
Amir is controlled and politically patient. He remains calm while stronger opponents struggle against his martial pressure, speaks for lesser clans despite the cost of challenging the hierarchy, and spends years advancing Bonum's objective through administration and intelligence rather than open conquest. That patience coexists with protectiveness toward students and a willingness to risk death for his people. His later wish to return to teaching shows that the academy became more than a disguise to him, even though infiltration first brought him there. (Chapters 249, 327, 368, 418, 1219, and 1773)
Magic, cultivation, and abilities
Amir's demonstrated combat system combines Pagna Qi cultivation and martial arts with the Bonum Society's Hybrid transformation. He does not demonstrate spellcasting, and during the Enaxx battle he explicitly lacks a mage's understanding of magic; his answers to it are physical resilience, Qi reinforcement, movement, and transformed anatomy. (Chapters 383, 418, and 1218)
Qi martial arts
Amir concentrates Qi through a kick-focused martial style. He can burst beast heads while stepping across them, harden an extended leg like a spear, redirect weapon techniques with his feet, and move quickly enough to be difficult for experienced opponents to follow. His visual Qi can also take the form of a descending giant blade that cleanly bisects a large dimensional beast. These techniques work both as precise single-target attacks and as mobility through crowded battlefields, but they are not invincible: coordinated opponents can check his advance, Murkel forces him to rely on Hybridization and allies, and Enaxx's magic exceeds what Qi alone can safely absorb. His latest spar with Raze confirms continued access to his cultivated skill but also the widening gap between them. (Chapters 383 and 418, 686–687, 1211–1219, and 1773)
Bonum Hybrid transformation
Amir explains that Bonum members voluntarily join with particular dimensional beasts capable of attaching to a person's mind. The process exists because Bonum lacks Alter's artifact resources, works only with suitable beasts, and can fail; each successful Hybrid consequently develops a distinct form. A strong beast connection may also enable a Hybrid to open a dimensional portal, but the corpus does not show Amir personally doing so and does not explain which beast he received or when his procedure occurred. (Chapters 758 and 780–782)
Amir can transform selectively or assume a complete towering form. His arms become axe-like weapons or expand through a black substance into giant hands used as shields and crushing implements; he can drive Qi into the enlarged limb, retract it, and use its altered flesh against fire. Alongside other Bonum Hybrids, he combines flesh, bone, and hardened Qi to endure sustained magical beams before attacking at close range. The transformation increases strength and durability but does not make him immune to magic: Enaxx's blasts knock him back, repeated clone attacks grievously injure him, and Raze later slips through his full-form guard and defeats him at a pressure point. His latest appearance shows that the complete form remains available under deliberate control. (Chapters 686–687, 1210–1219, 1722–1724, and 1773)
Intelligence, command, and portal expertise
Amir builds much of his influence without direct combat. Bonum maintains members in different social roles and uses them as an intelligence network, enabling his long academy infiltration, rescue planning, faction diplomacy, and command of a multi-clan army. His inherited records and Society knowledge let him administer the Golden Globe's activation and warn users about its timing and memory-based targeting, but this is expertise with an item rather than innate portal magic. The Globe's monthly full-power window remains a hard logistical restriction even for Amir, leaving his army unable to return from Alterian until the cooldown ends. (Chapters 688–690, 766, 1077, 1201–1205, 1276–1277, and 1765–1766)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Bonum Hybrid transformation | 686–690 | Publicly reveals enlarged, weapon-like limbs against Murkel, exposing the beast bond concealed during his academy service. |

Relationships
- Raze Cromwell: Amir first protects Raze as an academy student, later supports him as the ruler capable of unifying the Dark Faction, and ultimately entrusts him with Bonum's Golden Globe. Their alliance persists through the Alterian war, although their final spar shows the scale of Raze's later advantage.
- Murkel Dockthron: Murkel initially treats Amir as a trusted aide, while Amir warns against his abuses and secretly undermines the order Murkel controls. Their restrained institutional conflict becomes open combat when Amir reveals his Hybrid form against him.
- Dame Narfous: Amir arranges for Bonum to rescue Dame and later fights beside him against Murkel. That choice helps preserve one of Raze's most important allies before Amir's true affiliation is public.
- Safa, Simyon, and Liam: Amir trains the three academy students and uses their importance to the tournament to shield them where he can. Liam later becomes a coalition planner whose timing Amir trusts during the battle with Idore.
- Mantis: After the academy conflict, Mantis asks to become Amir's student. Their connection places a former Demonic Faction opponent within the Bonum-supported academy order.
- Lince and Rayna: They share military and political responsibility with Amir after Raze's rise, jointly representing the coalition in battle and in the settlement with the Light Faction.
Items
- Golden Globe: The lost Bonum relic that motivates Amir's infiltration and political campaign. After recovering it, he keeps its location restricted, administers its portals, and temporarily entrusts it to Raze with the expectation that it will be returned to Bonum.
