Golden Globe

The Golden Globe is a God-tier artifact capable of opening passages between worlds. It is the lost inheritance of the Bonum Society, a target for Alter and the factions of Pagna, and the mechanism that ultimately allows Raze's coalition to carry its war into Alterian.

History

Lost Bonum inheritance

Bonum's ancestors use the Globe to escape their destroyed world and eventually lose it in Pagna. Generations of Bonum members preserve the obligation to recover it, leading Amir to infiltrate the Central Academy and weaken the powers obstructing the search. During the island trial, the artifact reads and projects candidates' darkest memories before selecting Beatrix Highborn, who briefly passes it to Raze. (Chapters 157, 756–782, and 905–1037)

Theft, recovery, and interworld war

Alter steals the Globe and learns enough of its operation to open limited passages, bringing Enaxx into Pagna. Bonum and Raze's coalition eventually recover it, after which Amir explains that full activation depends on a monthly alignment and a strong memory of the destination. The Globe transports displaced groups home and carries the Pagna coalition to Alterian for the final campaign. (Chapters 1060–1125, 1202–1278, and 1662–1720)

The artifact can be divided into linked fragments, allowing Raze to retreat to the paired piece in Pagna when the Alterian assault fails. After the victory it supports return travel and remains with allies in Pagna. Its strategic importance persists beyond the Grand Magus's defeat because powers in the Divine Realm continue to seek a route between realms. (Chapters 1662–1664, 1718–1720, and 1765–1782)

• Opens durable portals between worlds or realms when directed by a strong memory of the destination. (Chapters 1112–1125 and 1275–1278)
• Reads and projects memories as part of its bearer-selection trial. (Chapters 945–1037)
• Full operation is constrained by a roughly monthly alignment or recharge window. (Chapters 1275–1277 and 1765–1769)
• Split fragments can connect directly to one another, but the text does not establish that every ordinary activation uses this method. (Chapters 1662–1664 and 1718–1720)
