Emperor Roc

Emperor Roc is the strongest of the three Demon Realm Imperial Lords who direct the invasion of Archean Eon Realm. His speed, Golden-Winged Roc bloodline, and willingness to pursue enemies across river zones make him the trio's principal mobile combatant, while his strategic role extends from mass deployment of demon monarchs to the final attempt to send a specially cultivated demon sage through the World Gap. After the invasion fails, he carries his hostility toward Meng Chuan into the outer realm, where the same karmic connections he uses to hunt Meng Chuan ultimately expose him to destruction. He is sometimes described by his species as a Golden Roc, but the corpus does not establish that wording as a separate personal alias. (Chapters 298–687)

Biography

The widening demon war

Emperor Roc first appears in the Ice Palace with Imperial Lord Starquix and Lady Blackmoon, weighing whether the widening World Entrances will let the Demon Realm exhaust humanity with vast numbers of demon monarchs. His interest is not limited to conquest: he expects Ancestral Master Archean Eon's hoard to transform the Demon Realm's future. That expectation makes him support increasingly expensive measures, including the Three Terminal Formation and Starquix's curse, when an unidentified underground Godfiend begins overturning the demons' numerical advantage. (Chapters 298, 353–364, 397)

Once the target is identified as Meng Chuan, Roc treats killing him as the war's central problem. He secretly deploys Demon Sage Nine Abyss as a reserve and observes the resulting battle through a golden-armored envoy. He later carries the other Imperial Lords to the expanding Snow Wind Pass, orders attacks on the entrance, and recognizes the danger created by Liu Qiyue's Undying Divine Fire. When Meng Chuan escapes into the outer realm, Roc pursues him immediately; after an Exile Prison talisman interrupts the chase, he concludes that the Demon Realm must win before Meng Chuan grows beyond their reach. War’s end and outer-realm expansion

Roc responds to the failed campaigns by perfecting his body, surviving three Physical Body tribulations, and following Meng Chuan's karma across several river zones. He finds Meng Chuan cultivating deep in a Chaos Hole but cannot withstand the same depth, so he hires a stronger specialist and watches the exits instead. Simultaneously, he spends the Demon Ancestral Cave's remaining resources on demon sages meant to cross the World Gap as Supremacies and mature behind layered defenses. The two plans show his characteristic method: if direct pursuit fails, he converts bloodline speed, wealth, and subordinates into a longer containment strategy. (Chapters 514–530)

The final passageway operation collapses when Meng Chuan destroys the prepared forces. Roc blocks a Saber of Nirvana strike with a golden claw and deliberately presents an opening, hoping Meng Chuan will enter the Demon Realm and fall into its fixed array, but Meng Chuan recognizes the trap. With the invasion effectively ended, Roc enters the wider outer-realm competition as a subordinate of Palace Lord Snowjade. During a cave-abode expedition he tests a lethal route with a disposable Essence Soul avatar and obtains a Tribulation Luck Lotus Seed, but Meng Chuan reaches him, seizes his gains, and imprisons his outer-realm true body as a karmic medium. Fiend Mountain and the final conflicts

Roc's surviving homeworld body withdraws into the Demon Ancestral Cave, whose defenses weaken attacks descending through karma. His imprisoned body remains chained in Fiend Prison while he tries to strengthen his will and cultivation enough to survive a future assault. He does not repent of the invasion or abandon the rivalry; after witnessing the deaths of Starquix and Blackmoon, he treats their fate as proof that only greater personal strength can reduce the danger. The protection buys time, but it cannot sever his connection to the captive second body or to Meng Chuan. (Chapters 558–561, 590, 622)

At the end of the conflict, Meng Chuan uses Roc's blood and the Heavenly Punishment Chart to send dark-gold lightning through karma. The attack crosses the Demon Ancestral Cave's protection and annihilates Roc's homeworld body. Meng Chuan then confronts the outer body in Fiend Prison; illusions collapse Roc's remaining will and Essence Soul before his physical remains are reduced to dust. Roc dies as the last of the three Imperial Lords who instigated the invasion, after his body had improved toward the next tribulation but before he could transcend it. (Chapters 686–687)

Appearance and personality

In human form, Emperor Roc is a golden-haired man in golden robes. His true form is a Golden-Winged Roc with immense golden wings, feathers sharp enough to function like divine armaments, and powerful golden claws. The golden-armored envoy that appears during the war represents him remotely and shares the gold-colored imagery of his true body, but the corpus treats the envoy as a separate strategic instrument rather than a transformation. During his third tribulation, invasive blood fog temporarily turns his wings red and produces additional pairs before he expels it. (Chapters 404–405, 476, 524, 529, 535)

Roc is patient, proud, and intensely utilitarian. He can remain calm when an army is destroyed, wait outside a Chaos Hole for centuries of accelerated time, and cross river zones for more than a year on the strength of a karmic direction. That discipline coexists with contempt for failed subordinates and an obsession with Archean Eon's treasures. He protects Starquix and Blackmoon when doing so serves the shared campaign, but his later response to their deaths is not grief; it is a renewed determination to become harder to kill. Abilities and cultivation

Golden-Winged Roc body

Roc inherits a powerful but not completely pure Golden-Winged Roc bloodline. Transforming into his true form gives him weapon-like feathers, golden claws, exceptional physical resilience, and the bloodline foundation to rival an ordinary Third Tribulation Eminence as soon as he enters the Tribulation realm. He perfects his Heaven Earth-realm Imperial Lord body, survives his first three Physical Body tribulations, and later comprehends much of the next level, but he remains a Third Tribulation Eminence at death. The incomplete purity of his bloodline is a serious cost: each tribulation is unusually dangerous, and the third nearly overwhelms him with transformative blood fog. His claws and wings combine attack, defense, and mobility. A claw blocks Meng Chuan's Saber of Nirvana strongly enough to protect Starquix and Blackmoon, although the blow cuts it and drives Roc backward. Golden wings also help him resist void pressure during the cave-abode expedition. These defenses are not absolute: Chaos Hole gravity prevents him from following Meng Chuan to the same depth, a stronger cultivator can capture him, and Demon Ancestral Cave's arrays cannot save him from Meng Chuan's final peak Sixth Tribulation karmic attack. Speed and void travel

Roc can become a golden stream of light and fly at roughly 15,000 kilometers per second when unburdened, or about 10,000 while carrying several allies. Starquix's time acceleration raises the group's apparent travel speed beyond 50,000 kilometers per second, but that enhancement belongs to Starquix rather than Roc. Roc uses his own speed to move the Imperial Lords between World Entrances, pursue Meng Chuan through a torn world membrane, and cross multiple river zones while following karma. His later Golden-Winged Roc body and improved void attainments make long-distance travel one of his clearest advantages. (Chapters 476, 491, 524–528, 557)

The technique remains constrained by spacetime conditions. Roc cannot catch Meng Chuan after the Exile Prison talisman throws him into a dangerous spacetime current, cannot descend as deeply into a Chaos Hole as his target, and still needs months or years to cross sufficiently distant river zones. His representative uses therefore distinguish burst interception from unrestricted teleportation: he is extraordinarily fast in ordinary outer-realm travel, but barriers, gravity, and specialized escape treasures can interrupt or defeat pursuit. Karma, Essence Soul, and avatars

After entering the Tribulation realm, Roc can sense Meng Chuan's karmic direction across river zones and determine a more exact position after entering the same zone. He intends to capture a true body and employ a Fourth Tribulation karmic specialist, because his own karmic attainments can kill an early Imperial Lord but are not reliable against all of Meng Chuan's distributed bodies. Distance, homeworld protection, defensive arrays, and the quality of the physical medium all affect such attacks. His hunt demonstrates the technique's tracking value; his death demonstrates its reciprocal danger, since Meng Chuan uses Roc's blood and captive body to attack him through the same class of connection. Roc later possesses a seventh-level Essence Soul and can divide off eight Essence Soul avatars in addition to his two true bodies. During Snowjade's expedition, he sends an avatar into black fog to test a route; its destruction costs only a recoverable fraction of his Essence Soul, allowing reconnaissance that would be fatal to a physical true body. These avatars are much weaker than his Golden-Winged Roc body and are not substitutes for it in direct combat. The final illusion attack destroys his will and Essence Soul after his protected body is already lost, confirming that his Essence Soul development never removes that vulnerability. Command and prepared operations

Roc is also a campaign planner rather than only a combatant. He shares strategic observation through the Ice Palace, authorizes formations and curses, deploys a reserve demon sage, uses a golden-armored envoy for remote observation, and commits the Demon Ancestral Cave's resources to a multi-stage passageway assault. These are organizational and treasure-supported capabilities, not innate Golden-Winged Roc powers. Their strength lies in coordinating specialists and creating layered contingencies; their recurring weakness is dependence on subordinates, limited resources, and secrecy that Meng Chuan repeatedly penetrates. Relationships

• Meng Chuan: Roc's principal enemy. He first tries to identify, curse, and ambush Meng Chuan during the invasion, then tracks and confines him in the outer realm. Meng Chuan eventually captures one true body and kills both through karma.
• Imperial Lord Starquix: A fellow ruler and strategist of the Demon Realm. Starquix supplies temporal acceleration and curse techniques, while Roc provides mobility and physical protection.
• Lady Blackmoon: The third Demon Realm Imperial Lord and Roc's longtime ally in the invasion. Roc transports and protects her during major operations, but cannot prevent Meng Chuan from killing her through karma.
• Demon Sage Nine Abyss: A subordinate secretly retained as a reserve against Meng Chuan. Roc watches Nine Abyss's mission through a golden-armored envoy.
• Palace Lord Snowjade: Roc's outer-realm superior after the invasion. Roc joins Snowjade's cave-abode expedition and reports his capture, but Snowjade declines to rescue him from Meng Chuan.
