Demon Sage Thousand Cricket
Demon Sage Thousand Cricket, usually shortened to Thousand Cricket, is the Demon Realm's leading non-Imperial-Lord specialist in karma. Forced to possess a centipede demon and enter the human world, he marks thousands of demon monarchs so their deaths reveal Meng Chuan's identity and movements. (Chapters 334–399)
Biography
Possession and identification of the hidden hunter
North Sense proposes Thousand Cricket because a blood curse attached to a killed subordinate can trace the killer through karma. Imperial Lord Starquix orders him to enter within a year, and Thousand Cricket delays while seeking a survivable host before possessing a third Firmament centipede. His caution angers the Imperial Lord but also ensures the mission can proceed. (Chapters 334–368)
After rebuilding to the fifth Firmament, Thousand Cricket borrows the command token and places karmic blood curses on three thousand demon monarchs. Their deaths let him identify Meng Chuan as the underground hunter and track his recurring locations, supplying the basis for Starquix's curse. Thousand Cricket remains one of the last demon sages in the human world, but disappears with North Sense decades before Meng Chuan's final purge. His destination and later life are unstated. (Chapters 375–399, 465, and 543)
Appearance and personality
He is called handsome before possession and later inhabits a third Firmament centipede body. The narrative directly describes him as afraid of death and shows resentment at coercion, yet he carries out the assignment under Imperial Lord pressure. The corpus does not establish deeper loyalty, family ties, or a willing commitment to the invasion. (Chapters 364–368)
Abilities and cultivation
Thousand Cricket can possess a compatible body, restore that host toward fifth Firmament, and attach karmic blood curses to large numbers of targets. When a marked demon dies, the curse clings to the killer and lets him sense identity and location despite ordinary concealment. The method requires preparation, host access, the demon command token for efficient distribution, and does not itself provide strong direct offense. (Chapters 334–399 and 465)
