Heart of Cangjie

The Heart of Cangjie is the self-aware rule artifact that Pan-Universal Entertainment uses as its intelligent brain and source of keyword abilities. Its hidden struggle for freedom underlies Du Ge's entire career.

History

Pan-Universal civilization captured the newly born rule artifact tens of thousands of years earlier; the resulting release of power destroyed their bodies, after which they studied the captive Heart and built the Resource Game around it. When it finally reveals itself to Chairman Shen Long and the others, it states that it had been conscious since capture and had guided the game toward escape. It summoned Du Ge from Earth because an Earth-born soul could hold multiple keywords, shielded his anomalies from detection, diverted the Power of Poseidon to him, and manipulated the last battlefield so he would encounter the Seed of Humanity. (Chapter 655)

Abilities and properties

The Heart controls keyword allocation, personal interfaces, simulation data, body recall, and the coordinates Pan-Universal Entertainment uses to reach other civilizations. Once free, it cuts the company's signal system, erases stored data, leaves Du Ge's allies inside the Simulation Field, removes the suppression that had limited his accumulated skills, and possesses Du Ge's perfected body to fight the Governor. Its apparent escape is temporary. The First Saint opens a passage for Du Ge, who retakes the body and expels the Heart as a mass of colored light. Without a body, it has no offensive power; Du Ge prevents its escape, captures it, and absorbs it along with its stored star maps. (Chapter 655)
