Seed of Humanity

The Seed of Humanity is the Zorn God Clan's foundational artifact, capable of altering living beings and granting random superpowers. Its theft by Kaska draws the final battlefield into an interstellar war over succession, status, and control of divine power.

History

Kaska steals the Seed to prevent the Zorn God Clan from producing future generations, then hides it aboard the Starfall on the emperor star. Even while sealed, its energy leaks into the planet and produces mutants. When Du Ge damages the ship, the Seed's signal becomes detectable; he turns the inevitable pursuit into a campaign that draws in the Zorn and Celestial god clans, promises followers new abilities, and uses possession of the artifact to challenge both powers. After subduing the Zorn God King, Du Ge returns the Seed to him; the king is still handling it while allied with Du Ge. (Chapters 605–620, 645, and 650)

Abilities and properties

Activated with divine power, mist inside the Seed enters a recipient and rewrites the body to awaken a random ability. A person normally receives only one blessing, altered genes become immune to further mist, and neither the recipient nor the Zorn hierarchy can choose the resulting power. These limits make the first outcome socially decisive within Zorn civilization. Du Ge appears to bypass the restriction by secretly sending his own divine power through the Seed, making it look as though the artifact grants additional abilities. (Chapters 606 and 620)

The Seed is also a vast reserve and regulator of rule-level power. Du Ge absorbs nearly all of its mist and thereby develops and amplifies multiple superpowers, leaving the reserve temporarily depleted while it recovers. He does not absorb the physical artifact. His later ability to grant, strip, and transfer powers directly follows from his immense mental growth and comprehension of the powers the Seed had already granted. The artifact broadcasts a trackable signal when unsealed, making its early use strategically dangerous while the Zorn God Clan is still trying to reclaim it.
