An inherited manual

Xavier travels with his younger sister Jill and displays an unusually strong danger sense that once kept them from boarding a school bus before a fatal accident. At home he rediscovers an ancient family book describing the Snake Dowager and the Snakebite Fist. The Shadow Empire treats such bloodline history as superstition, and Xavier himself begins skeptical, but the manual's precise anatomical instructions persuade him to train. (Chapters 1069–1072)

Unassisted practice would probably end in deviation or madness because the family's bloodline has thinned and the later stages require poison conditioning. Leylin Farlier, secretly staying nearby, unlocks ancestral radiation sealed in the manual. The energy acts as a key rather than a complete power grant: Xavier's arms molt, scales emerge, and his body enters a bloodline state that compresses mastery of a technique Crowley needed centuries to learn into days. (Chapters 1073–1074, 1083–1084)

The transformation does not give Xavier talent for the Shadow Weave. He remains a “squib” by the empire's magical standards and lacks formal spell credentials. Snakebite Fist instead offers a physical route that the Weave neither supplies nor fully controls, making a socially dismissed inheritance the source of his resistance. (Chapters 1075–1079)

Jill’s abduction

The empire's Special Forces kidnap Jill and other bloodline-bearing children for the Tree of Life project. Xavier infiltrates through ventilation shafts by lowering his pulse and life signature, but cannot stop the aircraft carrying her away. Crowley identifies himself as Deruze Xanier, the ancestor who created the family manual, and brings Xavier into the Bloodline Alliance. Xavier joins for Jill rather than from prior commitment to the organization's ideology. (Chapters 1082–1084)

The Alliance modifies a fifty-kilogram Venomsnake Armour suit around the arm flexibility his fist style requires. During the raid on a Special Forces base, its protection lets an inexperienced fighter survive modern weapons while his accelerated nervous responses kill casters before they finish accessing the Weave. He then helps Crowley defeat Wolf Fang. The ancestral bloodline awakened in that battle resonates through related descendants, increasing Alliance members' power even though Xavier himself is left unconscious and badly wounded. Healing technology speeds Xavier's recovery, while the cold bloodline energy inside him would also mend the injuries over several days. He follows the Alliance toward Kerallen, learns from Crowley and Bobbi, and gains black scales durable enough to block attacks directly. His progress is exceptionally fast but remains measurable beside veterans: Bobbi estimates him at roughly seventy to eighty percent of Crowley's combat strength before the final palace operation. Revolt against the Shadow Empire

Xavier meets the Snake Dowager and Leylin, whose origin-level bloodline pressure makes his blood race, produces scales, and compels submission before conscious judgment. The reaction demonstrates that descendant strength comes with hierarchical control: an origin can issue commands carriers regard as more important than life. Leylin supplies a few technical corrections to Xavier's force circulation, sharply increasing Ultimate Snakebite without granting him an independent law or high Magus rank. (Chapters 1094–1100)

During the assault on the imperial palace, Xavier uses Ultimate Snakebite to break robots with force exceeding laser weapons. He also cools his blood and suppresses energy fluctuations to slip past scanners when direct force becomes inefficient. The combination of destructive bursts and low-signature infiltration lets him reach the Tree of Life, but Crowley's larger bloodline phantom remains decisively stronger. (Chapters 1100–1102)

At the Tree of Life, Xavier finds Jill imprisoned inside one of twelve pearls that anchor the soul-gathering structure. Crowley, Bobbi, Clive, and other rebels concentrate their remaining force to open a route because Xavier cannot survive long enough against the tree itself. Their plan assigns the veteran to hold the higher-level threat and the younger fighter to strike a narrower physical target. (Chapters 1102–1103)

Xavier pours bloodline force, emotion, and inherited technique into one blow, breaking an outer defense after appealing to the Snake Dowager. The pearl nevertheless survives. Crowley would have had more destructive power, but switching roles would have allowed the Tree to eliminate Xavier before Crowley could attack. Xavier is then struck from behind and incapacitated as Jill awakens; the corpus gives no confirmed recovery or death afterward. (Chapters 1103–1104)

Appearance and personality

Xavier is a young man not yet twenty. After his bloodline awakening his skin becomes smooth, his physique matures, and fine black scales appear on his arms, face, and hands when he exerts himself. (Chapters 1076, 1092, and 1094)

He is protective, earnest, and impulsive. His devotion to Jill repeatedly overrides caution, yet he learns quickly, remains skeptical of strangers, and accepts cooperation when it offers a real path to saving his family. Xavier does not begin as a revolutionary; direct evidence that the empire has taken his sister turns private loyalty into resistance.

Magic, bloodline, and abilities

Bloodline danger sense

Xavier receives involuntary warnings before major accidents and powerful supernatural threats. The sense can distinguish ordinary unease from lethal danger but does not explain the source, identify an attacker, or prescribe a safe response. Stronger bloodline beings can overwhelm it with resonance and submission rather than merely trigger a warning. (Chapters 1069, 1085, 1093–1094)

Snakebite Fist

Snakebite Fist controls muscles, joints, nerves, blood flow, and body temperature to make the arms flexible and attacks difficult to predict. Its hand strikes imitate fangs, combining sudden acceleration with piercing force against throats and other weak points. The same internal control can cool blood, lower life undulations, and conceal Xavier from inflexible technological scanners. (Chapters 1071–1084, 1101)

The manual originally served lower-status descendants and grants short-term power rather than a complete high-rank path. Later conditioning requires costly medicine and direct exposure to poison, while incorrect training risks deviation and madness. Leylin's activation bypasses Xavier's initial adaptation time; it does not remove the technique's dependence on his serpent ancestry. (Chapters 1073–1074)

Awakened serpent bloodline

Awakening produces black scales, stronger muscles and nerves, heightened senses, rapid physical maturation, and regeneration. Xavier can tolerate an impact comparable to a car crash and later block attacks on scaled hands. His bloodline growth also resonates through related carriers after Wolf Fang's death. The power remains diluted relative to Crowley and subject to the Snake Dowager's origin authority. (Chapters 1074–1094)

Ultimate Snakebite

Ultimate Snakebite gathers bloodline energy into a black, serpent-like burst focused through one strike. Leylin's corrections improve circulation and let it smash palace robots with destructive force beyond laser weapons. Maximum output can breach major defenses but is not a universal dispelling technique: Xavier's all-or-nothing strike fails to break the Tree of Life's soul pearl. (Chapters 1100–1104)

Venomsnake Armour

The modified imperial suit protects against firearms and other technological weapons while preserving the arm mobility Snakebite Fist needs. Its roughly fifty-kilogram mass is negligible to Xavier's enhanced body. The armor supplements defense but does not create his speed, bloodline force, or stealth; it is also absent as the decisive factor in his final attack. (Chapters 1084–1086)

Shadow Weave limitation

Xavier has little talent for accessing the Shadow Weave and cannot rely on normal imperial spellcasting. His advantage against Weave users is physical processing speed: at close range he can attack while their neurons are still preparing a spell. This advantage depends on distance and surprise and does not make him immune to already active forcefields, machines, or the World Will behind the Weave. (Chapters 1075–1085, 1100–1104)
