Javis
Biography
Enforcer of the Shadow Empire
Javis takes Shadow Weave authority over Amdo City and orders the Special Forces to kill more than ten thousand suspected hosts rather than risk one apostle escaping. He later assaults the rebel leadership under Princess Ling's authority, fights the qi master Tian Can, and remains the public face of the Empire's ruthless suppression. He knows about Project X and the Tree of Life, but accepts mass control because the program promises restored life and a merged, enduring consciousness (Chapters 1072–1099).
Final duel between brothers
When Clive's rebels reach Special Forces headquarters, Javis admits that he knows the Empire intends to sacrifice and control its people. He remains loyal for the hope of restoring their youngest brother and challenges Clive to a duel. Though Javis gains the chance to kill him, he backs off at the final moment, gives Clive the Emperor's arrangements and a robot backdoor, and dies. (Chapters 1092–1101)
Appearance and personality
Javis is a middle-aged man in military uniform who resembles Clive, though he is younger. He is manic, sadistic, and dismissive of lives he considers useless. His hatred and ambition mask enduring attachment to his brothers, revealed by his last act of mercy. (Chapters 1072–1101)
Magic, bloodline, and abilities
- Shadow Weave casting: Javis has high-level access to the Empire's Shadow Weave and can produce effects compared with legendary magic. That infrastructure supplies and authorises much of his spellcasting, so it is not an inexhaustible personal power independent of the Empire (Chapters 1072–1073).
- Shadow Pierce: He launches a blade from concealment in an attempt to impale Tian Can. The target survives because his source-of-qi body lacks ordinary weak points (Chapter 1089).
- Massacre Domain and shadow constructs: A blood-red suppressive forcefield surrounds his opponents while a huge beast formed from shadow attacks within it. He also forms shadow limbs and other close-combat manifestations (Chapters 1089–1099).
- Shadow Wind: A violent tornado scatters Clive's rebels, after which clustered shadows reduce exposed fighters to blood mist (Chapter 1100).
- Command systems: Special Forces personnel, city surveillance, automated weapons, military robots, and local Weave authority are resources attached to Javis's office. They enlarge his reach but are not personal abilities (Chapters 1072–1100).
Relationships
- Clive: Elder brother whom Javis hates for their youngest brother's condition but ultimately spares.
- Princess Ling: Imperial patron whom he serves with conspicuous loyalty.
- Crowley: Bloodline Alliance leader and longstanding enemy of his forces.
- Xavier: Young inheritor who kills Wolf Fang and joins the attack on the Empire.
Items
No individually named personal item is assigned to Javis. The imperial Shadow Weave, Special Forces arsenal, and military robots are state resources available through his command authority.
