Yu Kiro

Yu Kiro is the God of the Yu Clan and one of the ancient betrayers who helps establish the Righteous order after the Timeless Assassin's death. His effort to preserve clan sovereignty and divine prestige draws him into repeated conflict with the Cult, culminating in a hidden fourth-dimensional ambush where Leo and Veyr make him the first deliberate proof that the restored Cult can kill a God.

Biography

Great Clan God guarding the old order

Yu Kiro first appears among the six Great Clan Gods debating whether to end two millennia of subordination to the Universal Government. He dismisses the Cult's new Dragon as a manageable recurrence, supports independence despite Ru Vassa's warning about Soron, and suspects that recurring Cult crises have been used to delay sovereignty. His position is therefore conservative and rebellious at once: he wants to preserve the Yu Clan's divine security and inherited authority, but no longer accepts that Kaelith, Mauriss, and Helmuth must stand above it. (Chapter 554)

At the All Gods Summit, that goal becomes a material negotiation over tribute and control. Yu Kiro demands an eighty-percent reduction in the Yu Clan's payments and supports walking away when Kaelith offers far less. The ensuing ambush destroys the assumption that the Great Clans can bargain as equals: Su Ren dies, Du Trask changes sides, and Yu Kiro lowers his weapon after Ru Vassa accepts a renewed soul contract. He gains a smaller tribute reduction but remains bound to the alliance, learning that sovereignty without unified force is an invitation to be isolated and killed. (Chapters 588–592)

The Pit briefly gives Yu Kiro a chance to profit from conflict within that old order. Watching Soron wound Kaelith, he privately hopes the brothers kill one another and clear the way for Great Clan domination. When forced into direct battle, however, his spear is broken and driven into his face; he withdraws to long range once he recognizes that Soron's Seconds Walk makes close combat suicidal. The experience reinforces both ambition and caution. Yu Kiro wants the old hierarchy removed, but he understands that equal rank does not make him equal to the Cult's greatest temporal fighters. After Soron's death and Mauriss's defection, Yu Kiro helps dissolve the Righteous Alliance once Helmuth's presumed death leaves Kaelith isolated. The restored independence does not produce safety. The Cult occupies Satoru, Yu Kiro's divine senses cannot pierce its concealment, and his clan's intelligence network has been weakened by losses at the Pit. He therefore gives Patriarch Yu Rulo two orbs containing his killing intent: one to erase the blockade and one to guarantee retreat. The attempt couples divine deterrence to a mortal fleet, but it also gives Leo the retaliation he expects and draws the Yu Clan into a battle prepared by the Cult. (Chapters 985 and 1120–1122)

Yu Rulo's death turns strategic concern into a question of prestige. Yu Kiro is less troubled by mourning than by the appearance that an unauthorized Demi-God has emerged outside the divine pact and publicly humiliated his clan. He reasons that bringing back General Sparrow's severed head will restore his standing before the other Gods, arms himself personally, and travels to Satoru. That choice marks his final commitment to the old order's logic: a God must answer a subordinate's defeat through overwhelming personal force or invite rivals to consume everything his name protects. Hunted inside the fourth dimension

At Satoru, Yu Kiro initially restrains his aura when Veyr challenges the environmental destruction it causes, then releases it again after being mocked and pursues the Demi-God away from the planet. His spear overwhelms Veyr's blocks and defeats the red intent lines on which Veyr relies by disguising its true path. Veyr cannot match the God in strength, but he does not need to: he retreats through a portal cut at the planned angle, drawing Yu Kiro into the precise fourth-dimensional region where Leo waits beyond outside divine perception. Pride converts a punitive expedition into voluntary entry into the Cult's prepared battlefield. (Chapters 1128–1130)

Yu Kiro initially treats two Demi-Gods as an insult rather than a mortal threat. He recalls surviving five opponents at that rank during his own ascent and attacks Leo with deceptive spear sequences, only to find that Leo evades them with minimal movement while Veyr pressures his blind side. Defensive talismans let Yu Kiro disengage, and named techniques such as Heaven Rend Pierce and Void Spiral Breaker prove that his output remains individually greater. Yet the pair alternate attacks too cleanly for him to build momentum, and his frustration produces risks he would ordinarily avoid against another God. (Chapters 1130–1132)

Leo and Veyr exploit that commitment through a staged signal. The visible X makes Yu Kiro expect an unknown coordination, while Veyr gathers nearly all his divine essence for Dragon's Justice and Leo quietly maps the battlefield's temporal and spatial distortions. Yu Kiro hesitates between interrupting Veyr and watching Leo, allowing the attack to complete. Complete Defense absorbs most of the dragon-shaped slash but shatters, dents his armor, and pushes him across the Fourth Dimension. Veyr is left nearly exhausted, yet the exchange narrows Yu Kiro's attention and gives Leo the preparation window the actual execution requires. (Chapters 1133–1134)

Seconds Walk then reveals the scale of the danger. Leo appears across angles Yu Kiro cannot track, but conceals Grudgekeeper so the God still believes a normal wound cannot permanently kill him. Yu Kiro concludes that even an incomplete temporal technique must be destroyed before it matures and commits Divine Drilling directly at Leo's heart. Leo splits the time stream at the last instant, replaces himself with a gravitational orb, and uses the resulting pull and explosion to break Yu Kiro's balance. The move succeeds because Yu Kiro's forward momentum, narrowed attention, and confidence in regeneration have all been prepared as parts of the same sequence. (Chapters 1134–1135)

Leo completes Boss's Execution from behind with the hidden Origin dagger, severing Yu Kiro's neck through aura, reinforced flesh, and divine defenses in roughly a second and a half. Recognition comes only after decapitation: seeing Origin Metal tells Yu Kiro that this wound will not regenerate. His consciousness ends in disbelief that a fighter not yet a century old has killed him, while Leo and Veyr leave the corpse inside the Fourth Dimension. The outside world initially assumes Yu Kiro is lost, enabling the other Great Clans to strip Yu territory before the death becomes common knowledge. His exact final state is permanent death, with no surviving soul, vessel, or return shown. (Chapters 1135–1150)

Appearance and personality

At the summit, Yu Kiro is described as sharp-eyed and silent, with a divine core pulsing under restrained wrath. Before his last battle he equips an engraved chest plate, pauldrons, gauntlets, greaves, shield talismans, and a synchronized spear, giving him the appearance of a heavily prepared divine warrior rather than a ceremonial patriarch. The corpus does not specify his height, build, hair, or eye color, so those features remain unknown. (Chapters 588 and 1128)

Yu Kiro is proud, calculating, severe, and ordinarily survival-minded. He can recognize a superior danger—keeping distance from Soron and accepting an unfavorable contract when allies fold—but reacts differently when lower-ranked enemies challenge his status. Prestige drives him to avenge Yu Rulo, while insults convince him that retreat from two Demi-Gods would be intolerable. Leo weaponizes that distinction by hiding the only threat Yu Kiro would have treated as truly fatal. His end is therefore caused not by ignorance of Origin Metal, but by a manipulated risk calculation in which the decisive weapon remains unseen until too late. Abilities and power progression

Godhood, divine essence, and regeneration

Yu Kiro is already a God during the Great Betrayal more than two millennia before his death. The corpus does not describe his mortal cultivation, Demi-God breakthrough, God ascension, or their costs, so the origin of his rank cannot be reconstructed. At God level, divine essence powers his physical strength, spear techniques, barriers, aura, dimensional movement, senses, and regeneration. He states that ordinary attacks cannot kill a God even if they split the body, and Veyr's strongest slash confirms the practical durability behind that claim. Origin Metal is the decisive exception: it bypasses divine aura and prevents regeneration, making Grudgekeeper's decapitation permanent. (Chapters 756, 959–968, 1129–1135)

Spear arts and deceptive intent

Yu Kiro's unnamed spear synchronizes with his energy and supports both physical and projected attacks. He can hurl long-range thrusts as beams of divine force or split the spear into afterimages, while his close attacks mask their actual trajectory with layered deceptive intent. This defeats Veyr's color-line prediction and makes every successful block damaging because a God's output remains far above a Demi-God's. Heaven Rend Pierce compresses divine essence into a spiraling reality-tearing cone; Void Spiral Breaker twists layered fourth-dimensional space into a collapsing vortex; and Divine Drilling focuses a heart-piercing rotating thrust. Their exact essence cost is not quantified, but repeated use and anger do not visibly exhaust him before the final sequence. (Chapters 959, 967, and 1129–1135)

The style has identifiable counters. Soron's Seconds Walk bypasses its timing and uses an energy spear as a foothold, while Leo learns Yu Kiro's patterns over twenty-five minutes and evades through spatial and temporal control. Coordinated pressure prevents him from chaining attacks, and Divine Drilling's committed forward momentum becomes a liability when Leo replaces his body with a gravity trap. Yu Kiro remains stronger than either Demi-God in direct output, but his techniques cannot secure a target who acts between ordinary moments, and his preference for demonstrating dominance gives such opponents time to study him. Barriers, talismans, aura, and dimensional travel

Complete Defense channels divine essence through the spear tip into concentric barrier layers capable of absorbing most of Dragon's Justice, but sustained pressure cracks and finally shatters the structure. Compact shield talismans provide separate invisible barriers during ordinary exchanges; each can absorb an attack and permit disengagement, yet they are finite enough to break under repeated Demi-God strikes. Yu Kiro can also tear open fourth-dimensional portals, travel across folded distance, and extend divine sense over planetary ranges. Cult concealment blocks that sense at Satoru, and fixed portal angles let Veyr determine where their pursuit enters the Fourth Dimension, showing that access does not guarantee control of every destination. His aura changes weather across a planet from outside its atmosphere, generating storms, winds, temperature shifts, and pressure severe enough to threaten structures. He can compress the full force of his killing intent into portable aura orbs that erase fleets across a broad radius, although another bearer must release them and their number is limited. Raw aura does not protect his strategic position: Veyr deliberately draws it away from Satoru, while the Fourth Dimension prevents other Gods from sensing Yu Kiro's battle or death. His latest state has no active powers because Grudgekeeper permanently kills him; no posthumous projection or recoverable divine remnant is shown. (Chapters 1120, 1123–1128, and 1135–1138)
