Terrence
Terrence is a sanctioned Demi-God who serves beside Clarence, later joins Mauriss's alliance, and survives the Final War only as a captive.
Biography
Service, defeat, and posthumous custody
Terrence initially works with Clarence in large-scale operations and ultimately accepts Mauriss's authority after the Universal Government's collapse. Guarding Granada places the pair between its strategically valuable waters and Leo, and Terrence attacks immediately when the Cult leader appears, nearly trapping him through coordinated Demi-God pressure. That success cannot reverse the wider war. After Clarence falls and the alliance disintegrates, Terrence lacks dimensional travel and recognizes that fighting alone means certain death; he tears free of the formation, surrenders to Leonardo, and is taken alive. His body is later preserved and, a century afterward, permanently inherited by Leonardo, establishing that Terrence himself died after capture even though the precise execution or death is not narrated. (Chapters 997, 1043–1045, 1194–1198)
Appearance and personality
Terrence is identified as male, but the corpus gives no detailed stable appearance beyond his battle presence with a sword. He is casual with Clarence while on guard duty and initially dismisses the chance of an attack, then adjusts when the strategic value of Granada's waters is explained. His final surrender is openly pragmatic: he abandons pride once resistance has no plausible military value. (Chapters 1043, 1194)
Abilities and power progression
As a Demi-God swordsman, Terrence channels divine energy through Heavenfall Rend, a descending lightning-like pillar; Leviathan Kick, a divine-energy physical strike; and Stormbreaker Thrust, a piercing attack used with Clarence's flank pressure. His greatest demonstrated advantage is rapid coordinated pursuit, which forces Leo to spend repeated mobility skills merely to survive. He cannot perform dimensional travel, however, and Leo escapes by opening a fourth-dimensional portal. No advancement beyond Demi-God is shown before Terrence's capture and death. (Chapters 1045, 1194)
Relationships
- Clarence: Terrence's closest shown battle partner guards Granada and attacks Leo with synchronized two-sided pressure. Clarence's defeat triggers Terrence's retreat. (Chapters 1043–1045, 1194)
- Mauriss: Terrence serves Mauriss's New Age Alliance after the government's collapse. (Chapters 997, 1043)
- Leo Skyshard: Terrence helps drive Leo from Granada but later abandons battle when Leo's side wins decisively. (Chapters 1044–1045, 1194)
- Leonardo: Leonardo accepts Terrence's surrender; a century later he inherits Terrence's preserved body to replace his own damaged one. (Chapters 1194, 1196, 1198)
Items
Terrence wields an unnamed sword that channels his divine techniques. Enchanted formation boots bind him during the Final War, but he tears them apart while retreating; neither item's later custody is stated. (Chapters 1045, 1194)
