Leonardo

Leonardo is the son of Luke Skyshard and Alia, named for his uncle Leo Skyshard. He grows from a protected heir with unusual aura sight into a defensive commander and Demi-God whose loyalty is expressed through patience, battlefield control, and a dangerous deception undertaken for his family.

Biography

Growing beneath the Skyshard name

Leonardo enters the family as Luke and Alia's son and grows close to Jacob and Elena alongside the other Skyshard children. By early adulthood he has reached peak Grandmaster in body, mind, and mana, yet knows that inherited status can prevent him from earning an identity of his own. He therefore works alongside ordinary expedition members and studies senior warriors rather than treating family prestige as a substitute for experience. (Chapters 727 and 754–757)

An illusion storm exploits that insecurity by showing his dead grandparents apparently disappointed in him. Leonardo rejects the vision because their genuine love would not take that form, but the encounter clarifies his pressure: affection alone cannot protect him from the universe attached to the Skyshard name. Aura sight and a lesson in restraint

Leonardo's ability to see red and blue aura, and eventually identify a golden concentration around a floating island, makes him uniquely valuable to Leo's expedition. Leo warns that gold can signal fate, reward, and danger and orders him to wait. Frustrated by being protected, Leonardo disobeys and approaches anyway; Moltherak's pressure overwhelms him before he can act, forcing Leo to rescue him and demonstrating that exceptional perception does not equal the strength or knowledge to survive what it reveals. The failure does not end Leonardo's independence, but changes its form. He accepts the retreat once he can warn Leo, and later channels ambition into measured development rather than another unsupported gamble. In the Cult tournament, Leonardo commits to a sword-and-shield style that sacrifices some mobility in exchange for structure, redirection, and the denial of openings. He survives the field with almost no damage and defeats the aggressively adaptive Darnell Nuna by absorbing pressure until Darnell's momentum fails. Wounded defender and concealed counterplot

His new rank immediately places him in a battle for which he has little fourth-dimensional experience. Leonardo helps compress space around Kaelith and restrict the God's movement, but a redirected attack hits him and an Origin Dagger wounds his forearm. Origin poisoning costs him the arm, leaves constant pain, and reduces his expected life to roughly a century; importantly, he withdraws when Dumpy explains that remaining would hinder stronger fighters, showing that courage has become compatible with tactical restraint. When Mauriss offers bodily restoration, Leonardo appears to betray Leo under a soul contract and severs his uncle's legs. A century later he permanently transfers into Terrence's preserved body, regains full health, remains one of the strongest Demi-Gods without reaching God, and retires from politics to study botany on Granada. Appearance and personality

As a young adult, Leonardo has black hair, piercing eyes, and a strong resemblance to a young Jacob. He wears a long earring in his left ear for flair despite Luke's dislike of it. His usual composure, discipline, and willingness to help contrast with youthful resentment of family protection; later experience turns that tension into measured responsibility.
