Biography

The apostle who wins by accepting defeat

Obin enters the Pantheon in imperial uniform, visibly marked by a modern war that offered guns and explosives where earlier heroes needed mythic strength. Dropped into the sky with Toolbo and Aruna, Obin assesses the Union Kingdom’s airships while falling, boards the fleet, improvises a small Helix Wing, and uses targeted explosives to turn Toolbo’s chaotic destruction into a directed attack. Obin does not consider themself equal to the legendary apostles, yet technological judgment lets the team stop the ambush. (Chapters 227–233)

Obin’s recurring enemy Bounda often wins their direct exchanges, but Obin repeatedly accepts personal defeat when it secures a larger imperial objective. That pattern makes the Renard a public hero even when the opponent feels the honor is undeserved. Later, Obin uses a concealing poncho to extract Sarcho under fire, shielding and directing the larger chairman rather than seeking a duel. Appearance and personality

Obin is a Renard in an imperial military uniform, with a face covered in scars, one broken canine tooth, and a left eye that has lost its color. They are disciplined, observant, self-critical, and less interested in heroic presentation than in the next usable opening. Powers and abilities

Obin is skilled with rifles, handguns, short swords, explosives, airborne infiltration, and rapid field engineering. A poncho can conceal and transport a much larger person, but the source does not explain its capacity, range, or whether this is an apostolic skill or specialized equipment.
