Nuxiao

Nuxiao is a Merciful One of the Great Desire Dao, a Buddhist order that uses desire as a means of conversion and power. Her ambition to secure the order’s influence leaves her isolated when its leaders abandon her to Li Ximing.

Biography

A contested place among the Merciful Ones

Nuxiao first appears in conflict over Master Baiyin, whom she tries to keep for herself until the stronger Nuyan takes him away. She later accompanies Helian Wumeng and presents the Great Desire Dao’s teachings as a path that can convert opponents. Her confidence grows as she predicts that the order will gain control of Great Primordial Hidden Radiance Mountain, though her role remains subordinate to its leaders. Isolated in the fight against Li Ximing

When Li Ximing battles the Merciful Ones, Nuxiao is among Que Liyu’s disciples and the strongest of those present, though she has attained only the Enlightened Wisdom rank, not Golden Lotus. Caught in Li Ximing’s Radiant Light, she uses the delay to avoid charging first; once free, she leads the other Merciful Ones forward and is pinned beneath the Heaven-Venerating Gate. She later blames Daisi for abandoning her and Lingci for taking her place. (Chapters 1620, 1621 and 1623)

Annihilation

Trapped beneath the Heaven-Venerating Gate and confined by the Huai River Map, Nuxiao refuses to surrender information willingly. Li Ximing forces her to reveal what she knows about Li Jieyi and the Guangchan bloodline, then destroys her body and soul with the Heaven-Venerating Gate and Heavenly Crow Merging Fire. A later account confirms that she does not reincarnate. (Chapters 1623 and 1692)

Appearance and personality

Nuxiao manifests as a radiant female figure with a hundred slender arms, golden eyes, and a pink lotus seat. She is ambitious and politically confident, but becomes cautious when Li Ximing’s power turns the battle against her and her allies fail to provide support. (Chapters 1396, 1451, 1621 and 1623)

Abilities and cultivation

Nuxiao is a Great Desire Dao Merciful One seated at the Enlightened Wisdom rank, below the Golden Lotus. Her many arms can release prepared golden spell-light, and she wields Buddhist radiance from a lotus seat. Li Ximing’s divine ability overwhelms her defenses and prevents her escape. • Que Liyu: Nuxiao’s leader and patron; her connection to him has protected her standing among the disciples. (Chapters 1449–1451)
• Helian Wumeng: Nuxiao speaks with him about Great Desire’s plans and its influence over the Buddhist lands. (Chapters 1450–1451)
• Nuyan: A more powerful Merciful One who takes Master Baiyin from her and whom she later calls for during the battle with Li Ximing. (Chapters 1396–1398 and 1623)
