Li Zhouming

Biography

A sheltered heir who intervenes in a family dispute

As Li Ximing’s grandson, Zhouming grew up with family protection despite poor early cultivation and a reputation for indulgence. When the elders moved to detain members of the An family over disputed mining records, he first argued that the records had been reviewed, then recognized that the elders were using the inquiry to exert pressure. He challenged them openly rather than let the An family be made a scapegoat, but his intervention brought him a reprimand and removal from the dispute. His conduct mixed a playboy’s social confidence with a real, if politically limited, willingness to defend those he considered wrongly targeted. (Chapters 989, 1200–1201, 1211–1212)

Marriage, family duty, and delayed cultivation

Li Ximing arranged Zhouming’s marriage to the Eastern Sea cultivator Xia Shouyu. Zhouming approached her courteously, and the marriage pleased his aging father, Li Chengzhi. He remained more devoted to his father than to cultivation: although he later entered seclusion and attained Foundation Establishment, he had delayed that step to stay by his father’s side as his health declined. His wife, Xia Shouyu, kept close control of his money and allowed him to make hairpins for her. Li Suining’s former-life recollection includes Zhouming’s death after the Li family’s defeat, while a later scene shows him alive in the current timeline as Li Suining’s fifth granduncle. (Chapters 1250, 1282, 1302, 1312, 1365, 1513, 1618, 1687–1688)

Appearance and personality

Zhouming favors ornate dress, powder, and a folding fan, and carries himself with practiced courtesy around women. Though often indulgent and reluctant to cultivate, he reads a room well and can recognize when family politics are turning against someone. (Chapters 1181, 1200–1201, 1250, 1282)

Abilities and cultivation

Cultivation and family authority

Zhouming’s early progress was slow: he remained at the second stage of Embryonic Breathing as a child and was at early Qi and the weakest cultivator among those present at a family gathering. He eventually reached Foundation Establishment, but cultivation was never his first priority; he postponed advancement to care for his father and retained his dandy habits afterward. During the An family inquiry, his standing as a direct descendant let him speak in the family council, while his cultivation remained limited compared with his peers. (Chapters 989, 1181, 1201, 1365, 1513, 1618)
