Xiao Hai
Xiao Hai is Xiao Jin's eldest and most favored son, a senior figure in Alumera's Xiao Faction, and the elder brother of the body's original Xiao Han identity. During an ambush aimed at him, Xiao Hai used Xiao Han as bait; the later Han Xiao inherits that identity but is not simply Xiao Hai's unchanged younger brother in consciousness.
Biography
Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War
Xiao Hai is first described as the most promising Xiao sibling and likely successor to his father. When an internal conspiracy attacks his convoy, he forces Xiao Han to exchange clothes and serve as a decoy, escaping while the younger brother is apparently killed. He shows no remorse when Han Xiao later returns under the Black Phantom identity. During Alumera's leadership struggle, Xiao Hai helps interrogate a captured conspirator, resents Han's demands, and is humiliated when Xiao Jin accepts Han as a nominal godfather to the family. After discovering that Black Phantom and Han Xiao are the same person, envy gives way to fear of retaliation. He eventually prepares an apology for Han's return, but Han refuses even to hear it and deals only with Xiao Jin. Xiao Hai remains alive at that last direct scene; no later death is established. (Chapters 12, 204–213, 251–252, and 287–290)
Appearance and personality
The corpus does not provide a distinctive physical description for Xiao Hai. He is cold, arrogant, status-conscious, and openly cruel: he regards sacrificing Xiao Han as justified, threatens a prisoner with prolonged torture, and expects his siblings' admiration. He also possesses practical political instincts. After Xiao Jin wins Alumera's leadership, Xiao Hai argues that internal stability should come before immediate revenge against Raylen, and he is willing to rehearse an apology when alliance with Han becomes valuable. These concessions arise from fear and factional interest rather than remorse. (Chapters 12, 204–213, 251–252, and 287–290)
Abilities and class
Xiao Hai is described as the most promising of Xiao Jin's children, commands a transport team, shares authority over the Xiao Faction, and acts as leader among his siblings. However, the corpus never identifies a Super class, energy ability, combat grade, or personal battlefield feat for him. His demonstrated capabilities are leadership, intelligence reporting, interrogation, and factional calculation. His standing therefore comes primarily from family succession and administrative power, and it should not be converted into an unsupported supernatural rank. (Chapters 12, 204–205, 208–213, and 251)
Relationships
- Han Xiao: Xiao Hai uses the original Xiao Han as bait and later treats Han's return as a threat to his standing. Han's forced “godfather” arrangement publicly humiliates him, while the revelation of Black Phantom's identity leaves him afraid of revenge.
- Xiao Jin: Xiao Hai admires his father's political methods and expects to inherit his position. He obeys Xiao Jin even when he cannot understand the concessions made to Han.
- Darryl: Darryl secretly plans the convoy attack intended to kill Xiao Hai. The failed assassination becomes part of the wider Alumera succession conflict, though Xiao Hai does not initially know the full conspiracy.
- Se Qi: Se Qi's Red Island Faction ultimately acknowledges the Xiao Faction's leadership. Xiao Hai interprets that political submission as confirmation of his family's new dominance.
- His siblings: The other Xiao children look to Xiao Hai as their leader. Their admiration and his assumption that it is natural reinforce his confidence as the favored heir.
Items
Xiao Hai produces a set of torture tools while interrogating Su Dinghua, but the equipment is situational rather than a signature weapon. No unique personal item, supernatural artifact, or linked equipment page is established for him. (Chapter 211)
