Todd
Todd is Darryl's younger brother and a senior member of Alumera's Home Faction. He uses the deaths of Darryl and Alumera Lagos to claim the faction's leadership, then yields political power when Xiao Jin's position becomes unassailable.
Biography
Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War
After Alumera's leader is assassinated, Todd disputes his nephew Lagos's right to succeed and argues that seniority favors him. When Lagos is killed after confronting Han Xiao, Todd immediately disavows the attack and takes charge of the Home Faction. He enters the election for Alumera's new leader but watches promised support disappear and Xiao Jin win under Han's overwhelming influence. Todd later becomes the Home Faction's chieftain and voluntarily submits its power to Xiao Jin after learning that Black Phantom and Han Xiao are the same person. (Chapters 207–212 and 251)
The assassinated leader is called “Delo” in early passages and “Darryl” in later passages about the same death, office, son, and younger brother. Within the supplied translation, these are variant renderings of the same person rather than two leaders; Todd is consistently that leader's younger brother. (Chapters 207–210)
Appearance and personality
Todd is a tall, muscular man. He is opportunistic, politically calculating, and more interested in preserving or gaining power than avenging family members. He can suppress hostility and publicly concede when resistance would be dangerous, first before Han and later before Xiao Jin. (Chapters 207, 210–212, and 251)
Abilities and class
Todd has a muscular build, but the corpus does not identify him as a Super or state a class, grade, power, or combat technique. His demonstrated abilities are political maneuvering, faction leadership, and rapid adaptation to shifts in power. (Chapters 207–212 and 251)
