Slade

Slade is a veteran Grade B member of the Punisher Alliance whose habitual suspicion makes him the first to question the arrival of Feidin and Aurora. His doubts prove partly correct, but he misjudges their motives and power.

Biography

The Flickering World

Slade argues that the newcomers could be Blood Hammer Church spies and warns that he will watch them closely. Aurora nevertheless heals him during battle, leaving him too embarrassed to thank her, and their refusal of a Black Star Army invitation eventually earns his genuine acceptance. When Feidin later takes the Box of Enticement, Slade confronts him and insists that earlier aid does not excuse theft. Han Xiao's arrival reveals both Feidin's rank and the Heart Sucking Demon inside the box. Slade joins the ineffective attack on the creature, then concludes that Black Star removed a hidden threat and runs after Feidin to apologize, arriving too late. (Chapters 939–945)

Appearance and personality

Slade is a skinny man whose detailed features and clothing are not established. He is exceptionally suspicious and slow to trust, even when companions are charmed by Feidin's presence. That caution correctly detects a concealed purpose, but his assumptions about espionage and theft are wrong. He is principled enough to oppose stronger people and humble enough to seek an apology once he understands the situation. (Chapters 939–945)

Abilities and class

Slade is a Grade B Super and an experienced member of a vigilante alliance. He carries a weapon and participates in coordinated combat, but his attacks cannot penetrate the Heart Sucking Demon's defenses. The corpus does not establish his exact class, named techniques, or weapon type. (Chapters 941 and 944–945)

Relationships

  • Feidin: Slade distrusts Feidin, confronts him over the box, and later tries to apologize after learning his identity and purpose.
  • Aurora: Aurora heals Slade despite his hostility, contributing to his eventual acceptance of both newcomers.
  • Raymond: Slade trusts Raymond as an established colleague but questions the newcomers Raymond sponsors.
  • Han Xiao: Han reveals the box's hidden danger and the true status of the visitors, overturning Slade's interpretation.

Items

Slade carries an unspecified weapon during the confrontation and fight with the Heart Sucking Demon. The Box of Enticement belongs to the alliance's situation rather than to Slade personally, and no named item of his own is established. (Chapters 944–945)
