Aurora

Aurora is Hila's younger sister and a life-energy Esper whose captivity allowed Germinal to coerce Hila. After Han Xiao rescues her, she develops from a physically devastated child into a healer, independent explorer, Beyond Grade A, and the living half of the Underworld's revival system. Her gentle temperament remains constant, but her willingness to accept danger and responsibility steadily overturns the assumption that she must always be protected.

Biography

Escape from Germinal and the Aquamarine War

Germinal imprisons Aurora because her blood possesses extraordinary healing and life-extending properties, using her continued survival as leverage over Hila. Years of extraction leave her emaciated, pale, scarred by needles, and close to death, while brainwashing trigger words compel obedience without erasing her underlying personality. Even in confinement, Aurora tries to lessen Hila's guilt by appearing hopeful rather than accusing her. That choice reveals the compassion that later defines her power: when nearly all agency has been stripped away, she still tries to protect her sister emotionally. (Chapters 5–239)

Han Xiao finds Aurora during the assault on Germinal and earns her cooperation by identifying himself as the “Uncle Zero” Hila had described. Aurora follows his concealment plan, endures being carried out in disguise, and is finally reunited with her sister. Emerald Grass later determines that her unusually concentrated life-energy cells can regenerate her damaged body once the forced extraction stops. Recovery is slow, and white coats still frighten her, but she voluntarily asks to become Han Xiao's subordinate rather than remain only a rescued dependent, making her first major choice about her own future. The Black Star Mercenary Group

When Han Xiao prepares to leave Aquamarine for the galaxy, Aurora recognizes that his departure may also foreshadow a future in which she and Hila leave the planet. She asks whether they will see him again and listens as Hila explains that their own path will eventually take them outward. For the moment Aurora remains behind, recovering and living in the Sanctuary, but her questions show that the wider universe and Han Xiao's example have already begun to reshape what she imagines for herself. (Chapters 310–318)

Her restored life force soon becomes useful beyond her own survival. An ability projection derived from Aurora can completely restore Han Xiao several times, saving him when his health falls to a critical level, while her physical condition visibly improves from its captive state. She grows taller, regains a healthy complexion, and begins to look like a thriving child rather than a laboratory victim. These developments establish healing as her defining contribution, yet they also underline that the power Germinal exploited is now being used with her consent to protect someone she trusts. Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

During the Mutation Disaster, Aurora senses the abnormal life signature produced by the mutation source, giving the defenders an early way to distinguish the planetary infection from an ordinary disease. She and Hila choose to remain in the Sanctuary to help with relief rather than immediately following Ames away from Aquamarine. The decision places Aurora's recovered gift in direct service of the population that sheltered her and turns her from one of Germinal's victims into a participant in preventing a new planetary catastrophe. After the crisis, Aurora and Hila leave for Floating Dragon and train under Ames, gaining experience in galactic combat and life outside Aquamarine. Aurora advances more slowly than her fiercely driven sister, but eventually reaches Grade B and develops enough control to protect herself to some extent. Hila's guarded acknowledgment of that progress matters because the sisters' relationship has long been organized around Aurora's vulnerability; training begins the gradual process by which protection can become partnership rather than permanent dependence. The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty

After more than a decade with Ames, Aurora and Hila end their apprenticeship and return to Han Xiao. Aurora thanks Ames sincerely and arrives in a white-and-gold suit, healthy and capable enough to serve as an army officer rather than a ward. She produces powerful recovery medicines that prevent high-level personnel from dying and travels beside Han Xiao, Hila, and Feidin. Her role remains primarily supportive, but the scale of the people she can preserve makes that support strategically important to the expanding army. (Chapters 728–760)

Aurora's sensitivity to life shapes both her preferences and her limits. She is drawn to natural environments and living things, and she can detect the presence and condition of nearby life with unusual precision. When she encounters a body that remains physically viable but lacks a soul, however, Hila understands the problem more clearly than she does. The contrast shows that Aurora governs vitality rather than every aspect of existence: she can nourish a living vessel, but life energy alone does not automatically restore identity or consciousness. The Flickering World

As the army enters the Flickering World, Aurora takes part in its senior social and diplomatic life while remaining personally close to Han Xiao and Hila. She appears in the officers' commemorative photograph, accompanies Han Xiao on official travel, and anxiously watches the dangers surrounding his promotion and battles. These scenes show a woman fully embedded in the army's inner circle, yet still emotionally direct: unlike more guarded officers, she does not disguise concern for those she considers family behind political language or professional detachment. Hila's return after twenty years of solitary training transforms their shared ability. Once Aurora reaches Calamity Grade, the sisters develop two-way telepathy and experiment with transferring life energy across enormous distances. Hila, who previously restricted Aurora's participation out of fear, begins to accept her help. Combining life and death energy is unstable, but the connection lets Aurora detect threats to Hila and later send enough vitality across interstellar space for her sister to regenerate during an ambush, proving that separation no longer makes Aurora powerless to intervene. Intelligent Plague and the Association

Aurora's mental link alerts her when Hila is attacked, allowing her to warn Ames and then sustain Hila remotely with a massive life-energy transfer. The rescue carries emotional as well as tactical consequences: Hila can no longer plausibly treat Aurora only as someone to shelter, because Aurora's action is what keeps her alive. Aurora subsequently accepts the Holy Light Particle as a host despite her aversion to needles. Its abilities give her a path toward direct combat and, more importantly, a way to accelerate the accumulation of power that otherwise advances slowly. (Chapters 1047–1089)

The discovery of the Underworld gives the sisters' complementary powers a larger purpose. Aurora and Hila are not literal reincarnations of its creators, but inheritors of life- and death-energy ability seeds encoded in information form. The Underworld can retain dead experts as Hero Spirits, yet those spirits cannot return to battle until Aurora becomes strong enough to provide stable bodies. She therefore becomes a necessary half of a revival system: Hila gathers and governs the dead, while Aurora supplies the vitality that lets preserved identities act in the physical world again. Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis

After decades of growth accelerated by the Holy Light Seed system, Aurora reaches Beyond Grade A. Her promotion greatly multiplies her daily production of life energy, expands a passive regenerative field around allies, strengthens her lifespan-extension capability, and lets her control her physical age and appearance. Most consequentially, her energy can now combine with Hila's into a stable golden-orange force that gives Underworld Hero Spirits temporary bodies. This advancement converts the Underworld from a repository of the dead into an operational reserve for the coming crises. (Chapters 1217–1250)

Aurora joins the Beyond Grade A Association, but she also insists on traveling independently. Rather than remain in the army headquarters under Hila's supervision, she accompanies Feidin to locate and protect promising Beyond Grade A seeds. Her healing presence makes the expedition safer, and she helps uncover threats and investigate the wreck designated SWY-001. Although she wants to heal the mechanical life immediately, she accepts Han Xiao's caution, later returns under controlled conditions, and supplies the life force that helps awaken it. Her initiative is tempered by judgment, not recklessness. (Chapters 1250–1312)

The World Tree War

Aurora enters the World Tree War as one of the explored universe's most valuable support specialists. Han Xiao carries concentrated life essence prepared from her power, while allied Beyond Grade As cluster within her healing range because she can stabilize injuries that would otherwise remove them from the front. She also helps the Underworld materialize fallen fighters as Hero Spirits. Her protection changes strategic planning: commanders can take risks around her presence that would be impossible elsewhere, and any interruption to her ability immediately threatens the entire defensive formation. That dependence makes Aurora a priority target. The Heart Tree King uses a mental-sealing treasure to shut down her consciousness and sever her link with Hila; a physical barrier blocks the first attack but cannot prevent the seal's direct activation. Psychics eventually free her, yet casualties mount while her healing is absent, exposing both the limits of her mental defense and the danger of concentrating survival around one person. More than a decade later, improved precision and strength let her support a victory without casualties, and she is ultimately appointed second-in-command of the Supers Holy Land. Information Form and the Final Relay

After the war, Aurora helps receive revived experts and participates in the new order built around the Supers Holy Land. Her title is not ceremonial: she coordinates senior personnel, handles organizational details, and stands among the small group expected to preserve continuity while Han Xiao pursues threats beyond ordinary galactic administration. The former captive whose survival once depended entirely on secret rescues has become a public guarantor of other people's survival and one of the institution's recognized leaders. During Han Xiao's long absence, Aurora chairs upper-echelon meetings and rebukes officers whose performance has slipped. She has accumulated enough prestige to act as the Holy Land's practical leader, though she relaxes into familiar complaints once formal business ends. Han Xiao recognizes that she no longer requires protection, completing the change Aurora pursued since leaving Hila's shadow. She remains kind and emotionally open, but experience has added authority: compassion now supports discipline, command, and responsibility on a universal scale. (Chapters 1459–1460)

Appearance and personality

Aurora is initially a small, severely malnourished child with pale skin, little hair, and numerous needle marks left by Germinal's experiments. Once her power and health recover, she develops golden hair and a healthy complexion. As an adult she usually retains a petite, youthful form and wears a white-and-gold combat suit, although her Beyond Grade A transformation allows her to assume a taller, mature body at will. In the Holy Land era, she wears her long hair tied up when conducting official business. (Chapters 199, 239, 441, 728, 1249, and 1460)

She is optimistic, compassionate, sociable, and unusually willing to see the needs of others even when she is suffering. Aurora enjoys nature and living things, dislikes seeing people hurt, and is more approachable than Hila. Her gentleness does not mean passivity: she chooses to join Han Xiao, accepts difficult training, defies the expectation that she should remain sheltered, and seeks independent travel because she wants to help rather than only receive help. By the final era, her warmth coexists with the firmness required to direct powerful and occasionally undisciplined subordinates. (Chapters 239, 288, 808, 1089, 1249–1250, 1284, and 1460)

Abilities and class

Aurora is an Esper whose ability produces and controls vital energy. It first manifests as exceptional regeneration and a biological resource that others exploit, but her growth turns it into healing, remote transfer, lifespan extension, battlefield support, and the bodily component of Underworld revival.

Vital energy and regeneration

Aurora's cells contain an abnormally concentrated life force. Her blood can heal injuries and extend life, while her own tissues recover from damage severe enough that ordinary medicine would consider it irreversible. Early in her life, extracting that energy faster than she can replace it leaves her near death; rest and the end of Germinal's procedures allow the suppressed power to rebuild her body. Her output therefore comes from a vast but not initially unlimited reserve. (Chapters 5, 199, and 272)

Healing, life essence, and lifespan

She can transfer vitality directly, produce concentrated life essence, and prepare potent recovery medicine. At higher grades her energy restores severe wounds, supports regeneration over long battles, and extends the natural lifespan of recipients. After reaching Beyond Grade A, she continuously emits a regenerative aura whose range grows with her strength. The aura greatly improves allied survival but can be interrupted by distance, suppression, unconsciousness, or attacks that prevent her from using the ability. Life perception

Aurora can sense living presences, identify abnormal vitality, and monitor an individual's biological condition. This allows her to detect the Mutation Disaster's unusual life signature and recognize injuries or changes that are difficult to observe conventionally. The sense does not provide complete knowledge of souls or information forms: a body may register as viable even after its consciousness has departed, making Hila's affinity with death a necessary complement in such cases. Link with Hila and fused energy

At Calamity Grade, Aurora and Hila establish a two-way mental connection and can transfer energy across interstellar distances. Aurora can sense when Hila is threatened and send life force that Hila converts into regeneration. Their energies can also fuse, though early attempts are unstable because life and death are opposing properties. At Beyond Grade A, they produce a stable golden-orange energy used to create bodies for Underworld Hero Spirits, making the sisters jointly necessary to the system's full operation. Holy Light Particle

The Holy Light Particle accepts Aurora as a host and gains nourishment from her vital energy. In exchange, it supplies offensive and defensive functions, including a subjective “punish evil” effect, giving Aurora options in direct combat that her original ability lacks. The Holy Light Seed system also accelerates her growth by channeling accumulated power back to her. She still requires training to use these abilities effectively, and her limited combat experience initially makes tactical judgment a weakness. (Chapters 1084, 1089, and 1210)

Beyond Grade A life form

Her Beyond Grade A promotion multiplies her daily life-energy production until ordinary use no longer threatens to exhaust it, sharply raises every aspect of her Esper ability, and grants inherited knowledge associated with the original ability seed. Aurora can alter her apparent physical age and build, returning from the taller form produced by advancement to her familiar petite appearance. The promotion also strengthens her capacity to extend life and lets her sustain healing over much larger areas, though it does not grant equal resistance to psychic or consciousness-based attacks. Underworld bodies and Hero Spirits

The Underworld stores the information and souls of eligible dead fighters through Hila's death-energy authority. Aurora supplies the complementary life energy needed to construct temporary physical bodies, allowing Hero Spirits to return to combat and be summoned from the Underworld. Neither sister can operate the complete revival cycle alone, and the system depends on access to the Underworld's stored identities. It preserves and rematerializes those already captured rather than functioning as an unrestricted cure for every form of death. (Chapters 1078, 1132, 1236, 1249, and 1343)

Aurora is not defined by a persistent personal weapon or named artifact. Her most characteristic material contribution is the supply of Aurora's Life Potions and concentrated life essence made from her own power. These preparations let allies carry a limited reserve of her healing into situations where she cannot remain physically present, but they are consumable extensions of her ability rather than independent sources of unlimited regeneration.
