Beyond Grade A water-control EsperArcane Church

Sea Spirit Dylan is an Arcane Church Beyond Grade A Esper who joins the assault on Planet Lighthouse. He is the closest church ally of Psyker, fights with water-control powers, and becomes a political hostage after Han Xiao captures and seals him. He is unrelated to the ancient Elf King Dylan, a same-named Mage revived centuries later.

Biography

The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty

Dylan accompanies the Arcane Church strike force to Planet Lighthouse and supports Psyker with water barriers, high-pressure attacks, and direct combat against the dynasty's defenders. His prior knowledge that EsGod is involved strains his friendship with Psyker. When Sagman sends Dylan and Mercer to destroy the dynasty's forming stargate, Han isolates Dylan, suppresses his Esper ability, critically wounds him, and takes him hostage. The capture helps end the battle and turns Dylan into leverage against the church. (Chapters 842 and 845–853)

The Crimson Dynasty accepts custody of the sealed Dylan while the Arcane Church negotiates a ransom. After the church pays substantial political and material concessions, the dynasty returns his amber-encased body and later has Han release the seal. Dylan emerges conscious but shaken by months of immobility and leaves with the church escort. Later direct scenes show that he remains an Arcane Church ally who remembers the imprisonment with fear; the corpus supplies no later fate after Chapter 1020. (Chapters 876, 889, 998, and 1020)

Appearance and personality

Dylan has long, dark-green hair that sways like seaweed. He is confident enough to enter a battle among multiple Beyond Grade As, tactically alert, and loyal to Psyker, but he avoids confronting his friend when the church's concealed arrangement with EsGod comes to light. His anger as a captive gives way to lasting fear of Spacetime Amber. (Chapters 842, 847, 850, 853, and 998)

Abilities and class

Dylan is a Beyond Grade A Esper who controls and stores enormous quantities of water. He forms water dragons, heavily pressurized barriers, streams, and destructive energy beams, while continually replacing water that enemy fire evaporates. His defenses are formidable but depend on access to his Esper ability; once Han suppresses it, Dylan cannot resist the Mechanic's close-range capture. (Chapters 842 and 846–852)

Relationships

  • Psyker: Dylan is Psyker's closest friend among the Arcane Church's Beyond Grade A allies and fights beside him at Planet Lighthouse.
  • Han Xiao: Han captures Dylan, seals him in Spacetime Amber, and later releases him as part of the church's ransom settlement.
  • Sagman: Sagman commands the strike formation and sends Dylan with Mercer to attack the dynasty's stargate.
  • Elf King Dylan: A separate historical Mage who shares Dylan's personal name but not his title, class, history, or identity.
