Elf King Dylan
Elf King Dylan is an ancient peak Beyond Grade A Mage revived through the Sanctums. He once united scattered elven sub-races, suffered during the Tragedy of the Pinnacles, and returns deeply hostile to the three universal civilizations. His history and magic distinguish him from Sea Spirit Dylan, the Arcane Church water Esper.
Biography
Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis
Dylan returns among the historical Beyond Grade As revived by the Holy Accord. He identifies himself as the Elf King, recalls the exploration era, and treats recognition of his old reputation as a matter of course. His foul temper and pride immediately cause friction with Sun Hunter and other revivors, while his command of a lost elven magic tradition attracts Austin's scholarly interest. Dylan rejects the overture and joins the wider group assessing whether the modern Beyond Grade A Association deserves their support. (Chapters 1256–1260 and 1313)
The World Tree War
The Tragedy of the Pinnacles leaves Dylan unwilling to fight for civilizations he blames for destroying his former life. He argues that revivors should escape while Han is absent, leads companions into the secondary dimensions, and initially refuses the explored universe's war. The revelation that Sanctum Revival can be repeated—and the chance for enduring life—draws him back. Han accepts the return but punishes Dylan's destabilizing conduct by defeating and killing him, after which Hila converts his soul into an Underworld Hero Spirit for the duration of the war. (Chapters 1371–1377)
As a Hero Spirit, Dylan retains his magic, aggressive pride, and talent for provoking stronger opponents. He fights and bickers with other stored experts, uses his sharp tongue to disrupt the World Tree's combatants, and survives through the Underworld's revival system. After victory, Han fulfills the promised treatment for Hero Spirits and restores Dylan to an ordinary living body. His freedom is immediately tempered by the many allies he insulted while he could not permanently die. (Chapters 1396, 1406, and 1448)
Appearance and personality
Dylan is an elf male with fair features and the bearing of an old ruler. He is proud, abrasive, suspicious, and exceptionally sharp-tongued. His refusal to hide contempt creates enemies even among allies, but his eventual return shows that self-interest and survival can overcome his historic grievance when circumstances change. (Chapters 1256–1260 and 1371–1377)
Abilities and class
Dylan is a peak Beyond Grade A Mage and an arcane master of historical elven spellcraft. He uses layered shields, restraints, teleportation enchantments, phase transformation, forbidden spells, and rapid spell combinations. His versatility lets him resist for a time against Han, but it cannot overcome the Mechanic's superior energy level, spatial counters, and mechanical army. As a Hero Spirit, his magical skill remains available while the Underworld supplies conditional immortality. (Chapters 1256, 1376, 1396, and 1406)
