Hadavy

Hadavy is a battle-obsessed Calamity Grade Esper whose Harden ability improves when powerful attacks stimulate his body. He begins as Han Xiao's persistent enemy in the Secret War, leaves Bloodshed Land after objecting to a dishonorable ambush, and joins the Black Star Guards to seek the pressure needed to break his long-standing Beyond Grade A bottleneck.

Biography

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Hadavy enters the Secret War specifically to fight Black Star, regarding repeated battles with a superior opponent as training rather than a sequence of humiliations. He joins Bloodshed Land for access to the conflict, challenges Han Xiao thirteen times across seven years, and escapes whenever defeat becomes unavoidable. His persistence makes him a disruptive enemy, but it is governed by a personal code: when Jorde uses him as part of a sneak attack, Hadavy ends the partnership in anger because he would rather lose openly than help dispose of an opponent through a method he considers despicable. The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty

News that Han Xiao has reached Beyond Grade A turns Hadavy's frustration into a gamble. He abandons plans to leave the Star Field, forces his way into Black Star headquarters, and engineers a loss so that his promise will oblige him to serve the victor. Han Xiao sees through the pretext but formally invites him anyway. Hadavy accepts a place under Hila in the Black Star Guards because regular sparring with a Beyond Grade A offers the powerful external stimulation his Harden ability requires. Hadavy's new loyalty is practical and active. He takes command of a special task force that spends four months constructing long-distance stargates in the Flickering World, then returns almost desperate to resume the punishment that makes him stronger. As a Black Star Guard, Hadavy shifts from attacking Han Xiao's operations to protecting their results. These duties give his pursuit of strength an institutional purpose: the defense he once developed for private advancement now helps secure prisoners and protect the organization that provides his training. Hadavy becomes one of the Black Star Army's strongest Calamity Grade combatants. Han Xiao still regards him as someone with a possible route to advancement because decades of accumulated training have deepened his foundation. The reputation is earned through direct strength and extraordinary defense, although it remains a statement of potential rather than proof that the bottleneck has broken. This period preserves Hadavy's less martial identity as a habitual Wayne Cards gambler. • Hila: Hila captures Hadavy when he forces his way into headquarters and becomes his captain in the Black Star Guards. He respects her strength, although her death energy and cold manner discourage his more exuberant attempts at camaraderie.
• Lagi: Lagi is a fellow Calamity Grade officer and card-playing acquaintance. Hadavy is comfortable physically dragging him to duties, while the two share the long frustration of trying to reach Beyond Grade A.
• Feidin: Feidin serves beside Hadavy among the Black Star Guards. Their contrasting reputations occasionally provoke Hadavy's envy, but they remain veteran comrades through the Army's expansion.
• Aurora: Aurora travels with the Guards and later becomes essential to the revival system that gives Hadavy confidence his long pursuit of advancement will not end in permanent death.
• Heber: Hadavy fights for Bloodshed Land during the Secret War but never adopts Heber's organization as a lasting loyalty. He leaves when its methods violate his respect for Han Xiao as an opponent.
