Albert is the short, elderly Psychic who leads the six-person hunter team sent to seize selected Calamity Grade targets. He stays at the team's headquarters until Han Xiao and Ames uncover it, after which his caution and loyalty to his hidden master carry him from a failed withdrawal to capture and death.

Biography

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Albert guards the hunters' headquarters and commands five partners, including Shana and Eliot. After their operations attract dangerous attention, he favors lying low, but Han Xiao traces the team while rescuing Lagi and brings Ames and a fleet to their base. Albert coordinates an escape and fights as the strongest of the six, spreading broad Psychic attacks across many enemies, yet the attackers' numbers and Ames's presence overwhelm him. Under interrogation he names Klent as the employer, but this is a false cover rather than his real allegiance; even torture does not make him reveal the mastermind. Han Xiao subsequently kills Albert and the other captives, and later hunters remember his failure as a warning against underestimating Black Star. (Chapters 638, 641–645, and 671)

Appearance and personality

Albert is a short old man. He is cautious enough to reconsider the risk when Shana joins his guarded team and to advocate retreat once their position deteriorates. In defeat he remains calm and loyal: he uses a prepared false confession and accepts death without exposing the force behind the hunters. (Chapters 638 and 643–645)

Abilities and class

Albert is a Calamity Grade Psychic and the strongest combatant in his six-person team. His Psychic power can be released in broad waves against many opponents, making him effective in a group battle.
