Tessa

Tessa is a Red Dragon War Cleric whose battlefield judgment, holy support, and devotion to war orphans make her one of the Darklight Host's most dependable adults. Her partnership with Thor develops from mounted teamwork into marriage and parenthood, while a Dragon Crusader class and Immortal tribulation turn her into a dragon-strong frontline support without displacing her responsibilities as healer, priestess, and caretaker.

Biography

A war cleric chooses the dangerous team

Tessa joins the central group as one of several clerical candidates, but her introduction distinguishes her immediately: she is a War Cleric of the Red Dragon and greets the prospect of renewed combat with a smirk. Karl's team needs more than a rear-line healer, and Tessa is comfortable identifying enemy formations, inspecting holy objects, repairing field equipment, and asking whether scouts can be isolated before anyone walks into a cave. She approaches war as purposeful work rather than a spectacle, pairing enthusiasm for a worthy fight with an experienced soldier's attention to reconnaissance and readiness. (Chapters 183, 214, 250, 278, and 307)

Her support becomes especially effective around Thor. Tessa heals damage to his scales, rides his back with a spear, and concentrates short-duration strength, speed, and defensive blessings on the frontline partner most able to remain within range. When the group is exhausted, she reports the condition of Thor, Rae, and the others instead of reducing readiness to her own mana. This makes the pair a mobile defensive center: Thor carries protection into the enemy while Tessa keeps him and nearby allies fighting. (Chapters 202, 206, 220, 278, and 295)

The Red Dragon's blessing after the Hill Giant fighting changes Tessa's position. Her aura becomes more draconic, red scales spread, and Karl suspects that the divine surge has advanced her to Commander and High Priestess status. Rather than announce it immediately, the team protects her right to decide when to face the Capital Cathedral's orientation, paperwork, and ceremonies. The delay is a meaningful choice: Tessa continues fulfilling her field contract before allowing an institution to reorganize her life around a title. (Chapters 312, 343, 346, and 351)

Foreign travel turns vigilance into trust

Tessa enters foreign territories unwilling to treat hospitality as proof of safety. She keeps her armor on where neither nation nor Church has a treaty, questions companions who become too relaxed, and remains the person trusted to hold a child when the more impulsive members are nearby. That caution does not stop her from training local children, assisting allied beasts, or translating religious and tactical differences; it ensures that help is offered from a position capable of protecting the people who accept it. (Chapters 347, 382, 460–463, and 502)

Mounted cooperation with Thor becomes recognized as “Tessa Knight mode.” She uses Holy Blessing on allied guards and weapons while Thor provides transport, barriers, and a stable platform for her spear. Their bond is not a Beast Master link: they choose each other's company, develop compatible routines, and increasingly spend rest periods together. Tessa's practical reserve balances Thor's open affection, while his reliability lets her project buffs from the center of fights that would otherwise force a cleric to retreat. (Chapters 405, 543, 551, and 581)

The wider pack also draws Tessa out of pure military formality. Lotus, her childhood friend, drags her into dancing and social events; Tessa protests, but remains part of the group's shared meals, jokes, and watch routines. These scenes matter because her life is no longer divided into Church duty and combat assignment. By choosing the team, she acquires a home-like circle whose relationships later outweigh national demands. (Chapters 347, 405, and 581)

High-priestess authority becomes practical leadership

Returning to trials and Golden Dragon institutions, Tessa acts as an interpreter of consequences. She evaluates rewards, organizes students, notices changes in dragon-linked bodies, and helps new clerics understand that teaching success comes from both method and Karl's Skill Master. When young Elites rush toward new abilities, she remembers the next destination, training space, and adult supervision. High-priestess authority therefore appears less as ceremony than as the ability to keep excitement from dissolving into preventable harm. (Chapters 587, 598–613, 685, and 699)

Her battlefield style also grows more selective. Tessa supports Karl and Ophelia when their life-steal effects make frontline buffs unusually efficient, and she withholds redundant casting when another healer already covers the damage. She can identify gear, heal by touch, and feed an army, but she does not spend every resource simply because she possesses it. This economy of effort prepares her for later raids, where support timing matters as much as the numerical strength of a blessing. (Chapters 519, 699, 743, and 749–750)

By this stage, Tessa's body visibly reflects her patron. She is already tall and muscular, with red scales and dragon-enhanced eyes; later, she gains a fully scaled Dragonkin transformation. The change strengthens Thor's attachment and gives Tessa a body more suited to fighting beside him, but she remains a cleric with obligations beyond the pair. Her growth joins faith, physical development, and chosen companionship rather than replacing one with another. (Chapters 184, 196, 699, and 785)

A permanent guild tests the meaning of holy war

At the Darklight Host's Drodh house, Tessa helps turn a captured building into a functioning home. She inspects meals during the cooks' employment test, shops for necessities with Ophelia, follows missions beyond the branch, and calls head counts when an operation ends. These mundane decisions give the Host continuity: powerful members can disappear into battles because someone still checks food, people, gear, and return plans. (Chapters 774–775, 818, 882, 912, 959, and 990)

Guild warfare forces Tessa to articulate the Red Dragon's ethics. After a rival starts a conflict that kills many people within minutes, she demands to know why and condemns the cause as foolishness; the War Goddess despises senseless wars, not war itself. Tessa therefore supports decisive defense, Holy Weapon enchantments for militias, and lethal action against invaders, but rejects violence whose only motive is pride or commercial grievance. That distinction keeps her devotion from becoming a blanket justification for whatever fight the Host happens to win. (Chapters 758, 794–795, and 889–912)

The branch also deepens her relationship with Thor. They read together, relax in the same domestic spaces, and return from missions as a recognizable pair. Tessa accepts his protectiveness without allowing it to isolate her from work, while Thor increasingly regards time with her as a future worth defending. Their partnership becomes one of the household's stabilizing relationships rather than a battlefield convenience. (Chapters 794, 818, 837, and 919)

Dragon Crusader power formalizes her frontline role

In a Monarch-level trial, Tessa chooses class change rather than raw rank advancement because a stronger advanced class can expand what she contributes over the long term. Her reward, Dragon Crusader, is a knight of the War God with holy magic and the physical skills to enforce the Red Dragon's will. Compliance creates a broad Oppression field and grants the physique of a same-rank Red Dragon; Holy Slash converts weapon damage into efficient holy force. Tessa accepts because the class preserves her identity as a Red Dragon holy warrior while making direct combat a credible complement to support magic. (Chapters 969–972)

The change is immediately social as well as mechanical. Tessa translates for Orc allies, shares domestic life with Thor, cooks elaborate breakfasts, and helps entertain residents while the group builds Naga and Fae alliances. Her religious literacy lets her notice customs locals no longer explain, and her dry interjections keep powerful figures from assuming everyone shares their priorities. She becomes a bridge between adventurers, dragon churches, and foreign communities without taking the diplomat's spotlight. (Chapters 992, 1015, 1031, 1085, 1134, and 1196)

After Remi's advancement preparations bring the women to Overlord Rank, Tessa explains her mature specialty to allied raid tanks: Red Dragon clerics increase group damage and defense, remain capable combatants, and still heal as well as ordinary clerics. In practice she maintains buffs, adds Smite and Holy Slash, places Consecrated Ground to improve holy damage and melee defense, then enters the line under Compliance when a special event overwhelms the tanks. The class succeeds because it lets her change roles without abandoning any of them. (Chapters 1090–1102)

Dungeon support grows into care for future generations

In Immortal dungeons and royal territories, Tessa is often the person who stops a dramatic plan long enough to ask how it affects an unprepared guest. She persuades Matilda to warn people before a continent-wide summoning rather than pulling them from beds or privies, coordinates shelter after disasters, and tells Karl when his aura is frightening civilians. Her common sense is not opposition to magic; it is the habit of evaluating who else a powerful convenience will touch. (Chapters 1211, 1301, 1328, and 1432)

That protective outlook extends to dragon eggs and young beings. Tessa contacts Red Dragon clerics for trained caretakers, helps manage residents of the Tiny World, and continues adventuring while Thor's attachment makes his own advancement and priorities increasingly inseparable from hers. When dragons pursue the group, she still calls the incoming threat and resumes her combat role, showing that caregiving and readiness coexist rather than alternate. (Chapters 1228, 1235, 1301, and 1437)

Her enhanced Consecrated Ground demonstrates the same duality. The spell can reduce allied damage, increase holy damage, and harm enemies across a wide area; its value depends on placement and on distinguishing allies from targets. Tessa's version is improved through Skill Master, so the latest effect is partly the result of Karl's teaching mechanics rather than an unaided class gift. (Chapters 1102 and 1256)

The Tiny World turns priestly doctrine into motherhood

As the Tiny World fills with dragon eggs and displaced young beings, Tessa's Red Dragon vocation becomes daily life. The Red Dragon prioritizes children endangered by war, and Tessa applies that tenet to hatchlings, bunnies, and other orphans rather than only members of her own species. She cooks, organizes lessons, uses the trained “mom voice” of her order, and teaches dragons that claws hurt bodies without scales. Her favorite battle chants and insistence on hard training ensure that care does not become indulgence. (Chapters 1536, 1612, 1655–1656, and 1805)

Her relationship with Thor becomes explicitly familial when Karl discovers several forming souls within Tessa. The pair are expecting a clutch, and Tessa has already integrated that future into the broader nursery rather than withdrawing from the group. Thor treats her as his partner and the hatchlings as a shared duty; Tessa expects the young to learn among other dragons while preserving the values of the Red Dragon. The pregnancy gives personal stakes to a role she had long performed for institutional orphans. (Chapters 1557–1559 and 1649)

Tessa remains attentive to threats around the children. She recognizes Cara's dangerous plans before the badger can present them as harmless fun, understands the obedience bred into former slave populations, and protects the time and environment needed for eggs to mature. This phase develops her from the group's responsible cleric into a mother and household authority whose judgment governs an entire generation. (Chapters 1665, 1682, and 1800)

Immortal tribulation confirms service rather than escape

Tessa survives divine tribulation in the Tiny World and wakes exhausted but fully healed as an Immortal before thirty. The achievement makes her extraordinarily young by Immortal standards, but she does not interpret it as release from old duties. Hatchlings immediately swarm her, the Red Dragon still regards displaced bunnies as war orphans, and Tessa kneels to hear every story while others prepare a celebration. Immortality expands the timescale of her service without changing whom she serves. (Chapters 1802–1803)

Karl gives her a private advancement space, and Thor plans around her transition into the Immortal Realm, but Tessa remains compelled by her goddess's tenets because the Tiny World contains exactly what those tenets prioritize. She teaches play, discipline, and safe interaction while beginning to learn the altered handling of Immortal energy. Her latest power is therefore confirmed but still immature: she has crossed the threshold, not completed an Immortal Spirit or mastered every local technique. (Chapters 1803–1805 and 1822)

The advance also places Tessa among peers who can join Immortal teams once she consolidates. She is still identified by role—buffs, holy support, Dragon Crusader strength—rather than raw seniority. The Darklight Host plans around that specialization, keeping her as the support center of a future Spirit Immortal group instead of pretending a new rank makes her an experienced Elder. (Chapters 1817, 1822, and 1883)

Raising a mixed clutch becomes her latest campaign

Tessa's eggs eventually hatch into Seraphina, a Red Dragon War Disciple, and four nearly identical male behemoths named William, Robert, Ollie, and Dale. The mixture initially horrifies and delights her because she struggles to tell the boys apart, while Seraphina immediately tries to establish command. Tessa does not romanticize the work: she watches their first meal for adverse reactions, studies their rapid growth, and evaluates whether the Orphanage, Tiny World, or Immortal Academy can best provide later training. (Chapters 1868–1870)

Her parenting combines observation with controlled freedom. The boys headbutt to determine who is best at smashing; Seraphina treats their game as formation training; Tessa recognizes both instincts and lets them develop while imposing order when needed. She plans for independent education because innate understanding of a Fundamental Rule does not guarantee broad or creative application. In this sense, the clutch becomes Tessa's longest campaign: not defeating an enemy, but producing adults who can use inherited power responsibly. (Chapters 1868–1874)

By the latest chapters, Tessa is an Immortal Dragon Crusader, Red Dragon Priestess, combat buffer, wife, and mother whose spheres of duty reinforce each other. Ophelia and Lotus remain close, Thor shares parenting and battle support, and the Host includes her and the children in future teams. Her development preserves the smirk of the War Cleric who wanted combat while giving it a clearer purpose—victory that leaves a community capable of raising what comes next. (Chapters 1873–1883)

Appearance and personality

Tessa is introduced as exceptionally tall for a priestess, nearly eye-to-eye with Karl at roughly 180 centimeters, with visibly muscular arms and scattered red scales. Her ordinary presentation resembles a warrior wearing a nun's habit more than a secluded cleric. She keeps her hair in a plain brown braid and largely abandons makeup after choosing the War Goddess, preferring clothing and grooming that survive work and combat. (Chapters 184 and 755)

Divine favor gradually makes her more draconic. Her eyes can become red, slotted dragon eyes when she uses Terrorize, and enhanced golden vision helps in darkness. Scales spread beyond the initially visible patches as her status rises. After learning Beast Form, her fully scaled Dragonkin shape gains a draconic muzzle, red scales, a long tail, greater strength, and later armor that expands with Warbeast. These forms are magical transformations; the corpus still distinguishes her habitual humanoid body from the fully scaled battle form. (Chapters 196, 365, 699, 785, 901, 1028, and 1433)

Tessa is pragmatic, watchful, and dryly funny. She is willing to fight, but she dislikes waste, senseless wars, and theatrical plans that ignore ordinary bodily or logistical consequences. Where Lotus follows enthusiasm and Karl follows possibility, Tessa commonly asks who is unprotected, what the political cost is, and whether everyone has been counted. Her reserve can read as sternness, yet she dances when dragged into it, cooks for large groups, reads with Thor, and participates in the household's jokes. (Chapters 307, 347, 463, 774, 795, 990, and 1211)

Her faith is expressed through action. Tessa respects strength and decisive combat because she serves the Red Dragon, but the same doctrine makes protection and education of war orphans compulsory. She applies “children” broadly to displaced bunnies, dragon hatchlings, and those adopted by the Host. As a result, her maternal authority is not a late personality reversal; it is the domestic form of the same duty that first placed a spear in her hand. (Chapters 573, 1228, 1656, 1802–1805, and 1868–1874)

Abilities and class

Tessa's abilities combine Red Dragon clerical magic, Dragon Crusader class skills, weapon training, draconic transformations, and item-supported mana reserves. She is primarily a combat buffer and mounted holy warrior who can heal, create supplies, and take a frontline position when required. Her strongest results depend on maintaining range and timing across a group rather than maximizing a single personal attack.

Red Dragon clerical magic

Tessa can heal wounds by touch, sustain area healing, identify holy effects, create large quantities of food, repair equipment with appropriate materials, and use enhanced sight. Her order specializes in combat blessings: Holy Blessing raises allied capability, Holy Weapon adds holy force to bodies or weapons, and Holy Armour or related defenses reduce incoming harm. Early buffs are short-lived and range-limited, which is why she concentrates them on Thor and other frontline fighters instead of repeatedly chasing Rae. At Monarch Rank, her food creation can supply an army, but meat still has to be sourced separately. (Chapters 196, 202, 206, 239, 364, 543, 743, 758, and 901)

Consecrated Ground creates a holy zone that increases holy damage and protects melee allies while damaging or suppressing vulnerable undead. Karl's Skill Master raises Tessa's base spell to level three, improving its effects, but the separately awarded Greater Consecrated Ground belongs to Karl rather than to Tessa. Her upgraded zone still consumes mana and remains subject to rank and holy resistance, as demonstrated by undead strong enough to endure sustained exposure. (Chapters 914, 1102, and 1256)

Dragon Crusader and holy offense

Dragon Crusader is an advanced War God class gained from the trial at Monarch Rank. Compliance generates Oppression across ten metres per user rank and grants Tessa the physique of a same-rank Red Dragon. That physique supplies the brute strength to send peer enemies flying, but it is an activated class effect rather than proof that her unbuffed humanoid body is always physically equal to a dragon. Holy Slash deals two hundred percent weapon damage as holy damage at a lower energy cost than a comparable warrior Slash, while Smite provides another direct holy attack. (Chapters 972 and 1102)

The class retains healing and buff branches as well as combat skills. Tessa can therefore support from Thor's back, dismount under Compliance to reinforce an overloaded line, or retreat to add healing when dedicated clerics run low. Her latest Immortal state increases the quality of energy behind those actions, but Chapter 1803 explicitly presents Immortal energy as a new way of using power that she still needs to learn; ascension does not demonstrate automatic mastery of Immortal versions of every spell. (Chapters 1091–1102 and 1802–1805)

Transformations, fear, and mounted combat

Terrorize gives Tessa dragon eyes and an oppressive fear effect, but she cannot learn every warrior or berserker book merely because it is physically compatible with someone else; Brutality refuses her in early testing. Beast Form later produces a fully scaled red Dragonkin body with muzzle, tail, and increased strength. Warbeast can add battle plate and an Epic-grade physique to that form. These are compatible transformations learned through Karl's transfer mechanics, so their origin is distinct from the draconic scales and favor granted directly by her goddess. (Chapters 365, 407, 785, 1028, and 1433)

Tessa normally fights with a long spear or holy blade from Thor's back. Her spear can change length to suit Giant-sized targets, and a saddle, stable boots, Thor's scales, and practiced balance keep her effective while he charges. Thor supplies movement, barriers, and stamina recovery; Tessa supplies weapon enchantments, healing, and group buffs. The partnership is powerful but conditional: separation removes the mount and defensive zone, crowded interiors can prevent Thor's full form, and neither partner's skill should be attributed automatically to the other. (Chapters 295, 336, 405, 412, 543, 750, and 964)

Support mechanics, limits, and latest state

Tessa's support effects can apply to large groups and even make otherwise insubstantial illusionary weapons useful, as when Holy Weapon combines with Thor's Eternal Lightning over Opal's forces. Layering many targets drains mana, and sustained raid support requires either regeneration, stored mana, or deliberate alternation between her own pool and equipment. She chooses targets based on role and current healing rather than buffing everyone continuously. (Chapters 543, 743, 749, 835–836, and 1102)

She reaches Immortality by tribulation in the Tiny World and begins learning to circulate Immortal energy afterward. The corpus confirms the threshold and recovery, not a completed Immortal Spirit or later sub-rank. Her latest demonstrated mastery remains role-based: maintaining buffs, applying holy zones, fighting with dragon strength when the line breaks, and using an Immortal lifespan and body to raise and train a powerful mixed clutch. (Chapters 1802–1805, 1868–1874, and 1883)

Relationships

  • Thor: Tessa's mount and defensive partner becomes her husband and the father of her clutch. They combine barriers, holy buffs, spear combat, domestic companionship, and parenting; their closeness is chosen rather than produced by Karl's Beast Master bond. (Chapters 202, 405, 543, 1134, 1557–1559, and 1868–1870)
  • Lotus: Lotus is Tessa's childhood friend, fellow priestess, social instigator, and household counterpart. Tessa restrains her most impulsive ideas and protects her while respecting her exceptional healing and care for living creatures. (Chapters 214, 347, 610, 755, and 1847)
  • Karl: Karl is Tessa's commander, guild leader, teacher, and friend. His skills improve or transfer compatible abilities, but Tessa remains one of the adults who challenges his unsafe assumptions, moderates his aura, and interprets consequences he overlooks. (Chapters 239, 374, 603, 785, 1211, and 1432)
  • Dana: Dana and Tessa develop from field teammates into members of the same domestic circle. Dana watches Tessa's advancement, fights inside her holy support, and celebrates her pregnancy, while Tessa provides healing, caution, and translation during shared missions. (Chapters 346, 749, 984, 1031, and 1557)
  • Ophelia: Ophelia is Tessa's fellow frontline woman, shopping and mission companion, and one of the few people entrusted with Lotus's safety. Their different specialties—holy support and damage-absorbing tanking—make them natural dungeon partners. (Chapters 347, 749, 775, 969–972, and 1883)
  • Rae: Rae benefits from Tessa's early healing and short buffs, while Tessa supplies moral and practical restraint to the spider's training ideas. She accepts Rae as a thinking teammate without pretending her predatory methods are harmless. (Chapters 202, 237, 610, and 638)
  • Nachtia: The Black Dragon Priestess shares Tessa's dragon-faith perspective and later helps raise hatchlings in the Tiny World. Their patron gods differ, but they coordinate missions, childcare, and Immortal advancement without treating the distinction as hostility. (Chapters 888, 1090–1102, 1557, and 1682)
  • Cara: Tessa recognizes that Cara's apparently charming plans can carry extreme consequences, particularly around children and class changes. She nevertheless accepts the badger as family and uses vigilance rather than exclusion to contain the risk. (Chapters 1134, 1682, and 1771–1772)
  • Seraphina: Seraphina is Tessa's Red Dragon daughter and a War Disciple who immediately mirrors her patron's martial values. Tessa guides her leadership of four behemoth brothers while letting the hatchling's nature develop. (Chapters 1868–1874)

Items

  • Bracers of Fated Encounters: Artifact-grade paired bracers made by Karl and Loros. They store ten times standard mana, increase skill power by thirty percent and Luck by one hundred, accelerate growth, and improve the chance of passing bottlenecks. Tessa is directly shown alternating between her own mana and the bracers during battle. (Chapters 827 and 835)
  • Blade of the Avenging Angel: The scoped inventory associates this blade with Tessa, but the only local appearance instead shows Karl creating it for Othello, who bonds it on contact. It adds skill damage, physical strength, holy weapon damage, and double damage against targets with impure intentions, while rejecting male or unholy wielders. No transfer to Tessa is established in the supplied corpus. (Chapter 727)
