History
A protective inscription becomes an exceptional weapon
Karl presents Othello with a glimmering silver blade bearing blood-red runes and a golden hilt. The moment she touches it, the weapon bonds to her. Karl's inscription was designed to reinforce a female Paladin's safety, using a deliberately cheeky poem about Othello to strengthen the targeted intent of the runes. The outcome exceeds the planned statistical improvements: Granite judges the doubled damage against people with impure intentions to be an Epic-grade bonus, while Karl explains that the personal wording amplified the other effects and unexpectedly produced an additional one. The gift also demonstrates why Karl values additive item damage for long fights. He estimates that the sword's Holy damage stacks onto Othello's attacks without consuming her own energy, giving an effect comparable to a moderate Overlord-rank skill while reducing the endurance cost of reaching the same damage.
