Nachtia
Nachtia is a purebred black dragon cleric, the youngest niece of Nacht, and one of the Darklight Host's core raiders. Her progression from an isolated Exile seeking a compatible team to a Mythic guardian and teacher is driven by loyalty to friends she worked hard to find and by her duty to preserve black-dragon knowledge for the next generation.
Biography
An Exile Finds a Team in Drodh
Nachtia meets Karl in the Bara Dungeon region, introducing herself as Nacht's youngest niece and briefly revealing enough draconic power to prove she is a full black dragon rather than dragonkin. The dragonkin around her do not socialize closely with her, so shopping and fighting beside Karl's group offer something she has repeatedly failed to secure: companions comfortable with her nature. Dana, Lotus, Tessa, and the other women deliberately draw her into Drodh's social life, and the resulting friendships turn a temporary dungeon teammate into a Darklight Host member. (Chapters 872–883 and 1120)
She earns that place through clerical judgment and battlefield action. Nachtia argues against charging threatened villagers for food, identifies Revenants as soul-mutilated creatures black dragons destroy on sight, and uses black mist, Shadow Magic, and aerial coordination with Hawk to erase undead forces without disrupting allied area spells. She also participates in planning rather than pursuing combat blindly, accepting pauses when unstable anomalies make a fast clearance pointless. By the time the Drodh group becomes an established Overlord team, she is an indispensable raider rather than a guest. (Chapters 888–903, 935, 984, and 1015)
Death's Cleric Advances With Her Friends
An Overlord temple offers Nachtia the black-dragon-exclusive Junior Reaper advancement, deepening a clerical path already favoured by the Death God. Subsequent signs of that favour guide the party toward significant threats, while her death and shadow magic make her particularly effective against undead. The class also imposes pressures: intense death energy can leave her dizzy even as she absorbs it, and her presence frightens strangers and lesser creatures before she acts. Nachtia learns to work within those reactions instead of treating raw draconic power as sufficient social authority. (Chapters 972, 990, 1037, and 1328)
Her deeper motive is keeping pace with the companions she finally found. She works to surpass her namesake without personal rivalry, pushes years ahead of a normal dragon's schedule in the Darklight Host, and builds a power matrix intended to reduce the slowdown after Totem advancement. The effort is shaped by dragon biology: Isles-born dragons mature faster, Nachtia was nearly grown before Monarch, and even within a rank her power rises with age. Her progress is therefore unusually fast for her species, but neither instantaneous nor free of developmental limits. (Chapters 1060, 1113, 1205, and 1213)
Mythic Inheritance and the Tiny World
Nachtia remains with the group through higher-ranked crises, where her dragon form receives battle plate and an Epic physique even though Beast Form cannot alter a full-blooded dragon. Her Death God magic also reacts to a continuing assassination threat against a prince, helping confirm that danger remains after the first attempt. These moments move her role beyond attack power: racial incompatibility limits some shared buffs, but her clerical attunement supplies warning and specialized knowledge that the rest of the party lacks. (Chapters 1433–1440)
Karl later channels power into Nachtia while she accepts the inheritance of an ancient Mythic black dragon, carrying her through the bottleneck into Mythic Rank. The inheritance strengthens her aura and vitality and gives her a Rule, but does not immediately make her Immortal; her body must grow and stabilize before tribulation. She chooses residence in the Tiny World, where its mixed energies and Karl's stored death energy support that long maturation. Her latest state is consequently powerful but unfinished: Mythic, inheritance-bearing, and still waiting for dragon growth to catch up with comprehension. (Chapters 1493, 1614–1616, 1664, and 1696)
Raising a Black Dragon Without Repeating Her Isolation
Nachtia assumes responsibility for the hatchling Yewan, catching his escape attempts, regulating caffeine, and refusing to let impatience push him into the outside world before he can face its cruelty. Their conflict is affectionate but substantive: Yewan wants exploration immediately, while Nachtia knows that both of them are still short of Immortality. Her promise to take him farther once she advances gives his frustration a future answer without relaxing the safety boundary. (Chapters 1652–1654, 1682, 1802, and 1825)
Teaching reveals how much Nachtia's own upbringing shapes that duty. She gives Yewan the black-dragon lessons other hatchlings cannot share, especially control of an aura that could accidentally kill plants and small creatures, and discovers that solitary instruction makes an energetic child lose focus. Unlike the adults who often dismissed her own childhood questions, she keeps answering his and arranges support from Black Dragon Avatars. Her ancient inheritance also restores genetic memory through proximity, making her not only Yewan's guardian but a living conduit for racial knowledge the Tiny World could not otherwise supply. (Chapters 1839, 1848, 1850, and 1857)
Appearance and personality
Nachtia can alternate between a humanoid guise and a large purebred black-dragon form with metallic black scales. In dragon form she flies, carries riders, and can wear expanding battle plate; after the Mythic inheritance her humanoid appearance remains outwardly unchanged, though her aura and vitality are noticeably stronger. She is wry, sociable once welcomed, and cautious enough to stop a mission when its underlying conditions are unclear. Her patience and responsibility become especially visible with Yewan, but she does not claim to be the guild's most orderly member and retains an amused tolerance for its chaos. (Chapters 872–883, 1010–1015, 1041, 1213, 1433, 1615, and 1825–1848)
Abilities and class
Black dragon body and growth
Nachtia is a full black dragon, not a dragonkin or a class-based transformation. She can fly, fight on the ground in a massive body, carry riders, and project a predatory presence that makes lesser creatures avoid her whole party. Her black mist breath kills undead that enter it, while her physical power continues increasing with age even at a fixed rank. Beast Form does not work on her true draconic body, although a later shared Warbeast improvement supplies armour and an Epic Grade physique. Her slow maturation remains a hard limit: Mythic power and an understood Rule still do not let her skip the bodily stabilization required for Immortality. (Chapters 872, 892–903, 1003–1037, 1060, 1102–1113, 1433, 1614–1615, and 1825)
Junior Reaper and death magic
The Overlord-grade black-dragon-exclusive Junior Reaper cleric class grants Reclamation, which increases Nachtia's Death Element damage by fifty percent and halves healing received by targets she damages with that element for ten minutes. She also uses Shadow Magic to disintegrate undead and can spread lethal black mist across a battlefield without colliding with allied area attacks. Her eyes and magic visibly respond to the Death God's attention and to imminent death threats. These powers excel at death-aligned enemies and attrition, but strong ambient death energy can overwhelm her enough to prevent active fighting while she absorbs it. (Chapters 903, 972, 984, 990, 1328, and 1435–1440)
Mythic inheritance and inherited knowledge
The ancient black-dragon inheritance merges with Nachtia during her advancement to Mythic, increasing her aura and vitality and providing the comprehension needed for a future tribulation. It also carries racial memory that can naturally fill gaps in a nearby black hatchling's genetic knowledge. The inheritance does not change her species or outward humanoid appearance, and it is not itself an automatic advancement to Immortality. Its latest demonstrated application is therefore educational and developmental as much as martial: it positions Nachtia to preserve black-dragon death magic, aura control, and instinctive knowledge for Yewan while her body continues growing. (Chapters 1614–1615, 1848, and 1857)
