Prince Corbin

Prince Corbin is a Royal Rank mage and leader among the Spellblade Clan whose field judgment repeatedly turns mixed-rank groups into workable formations. His title reflects power rather than royalty, and his later System class formally becomes Spellblade.

Biography

Shared Command in the Mountain Anomaly

Corbin meets Karl and Alice while leading a Spellblade group whose members range from Awakened to Commander Rank. When Yetis encircle the combined teams, he spends mana at extreme speed to cut a path through the breach and get the weaker fighters clear. He then shares planning with Alice, accepts Rae and Karl as forward scouts, and keeps the group's survival ahead of pride over command. (Chapters 229–241)

Inside the hidden Naga dungeon, Corbin supplies the experience the younger members lack: he insists they recover the portal route, explains the dungeon's loot rules, scouts the final boss camp, and diagrams the likely reinforcements before the attack. The run leaves him badly exhausted and dependent on Tessa and Lotus's healing, showing that Royal speed and output do not make his mana or body inexhaustible. Karl later remembers him as a good man who can be trusted to relay help. (Chapters 239–251 and 318)

A System Class and Responsibility for the Clan

Corbin later encounters Karl behind enemy lines while his clan is already exhausted by a sudden undead spawn. He holds the perimeter, debriefs Karl's party, updates his inadequate map from their intelligence, and abandons a redundant reconnaissance objective rather than waste his people's lives. His disguise magic hides the clan's retreat as a mirage, turning new information into a safer mission outcome. (Chapters 511–515)

A class-change trial finally offers Corbin the single option he wanted: Spellblade. It activates additional System features, including Inventory, but does not remove his obligation to a largely non-System-trained clan. He continues bringing wounded members to allies for healing and seeking compatible advancement paths rather than forcing unsuitable classes on them. (Chapters 552–564)

Appearance and personality

Corbin is presented in Elite combat dress with a teasing glint and an easy smile, but the corpus gives no reliable hair, eye, or species description. He is good-humoured in introductions, cautious with his people's lives, and capable of switching quickly from banter to reconnaissance and command. (Chapters 229, 249, 513, and 562)

Abilities and class

Corbin begins as a Royal Rank mage trained as a Spellsword and later takes the System's Spellblade class. He fights at extreme speed with bladed and ranged energy attacks, scouts, senses ranked creatures, and uses air magic to create visual mirages over a moving group. His output can clear encirclements and threaten lower-ranked formations, but sustained bursts leave him exhausted and in need of healing. The class activates more System functions, including Inventory; the text does not document a later rank increase or a complete skill list. (Chapters 233–251, 511–515, and 562–564)

Relationships

  • Karl: Corbin first shares a dungeon command with Karl and later trades battlefield intelligence with him. Their trust lets each leader change plans without competing for authority. (Chapters 229–251 and 511–515)
  • Alice: Alice and Corbin jointly plan for the mixed team in the mountain anomaly, combining her defensive caution with his Spellblade experience. (Chapters 241–249)
  • Tessa: Tessa heals Corbin after his overextension and later gives him the information needed to spare his clan a needless reconnaissance mission. (Chapters 239 and 513)
