Preparing cadets for intergalactic service

Mag explains intergalactic squad structure to cadets, distinguishing combatants and backup pilots and emphasizing readiness for any event in space. The instruction gives Gustav Oslov, Endric Oslov, and their cohort an institutional picture of service beyond individual duels before later camp crises test that discipline. (Chapters 382–507)

A senior force in Satori

When Gustav later assesses the Satori camp, he believes Yarki could neutralize almost everyone but names Mag as an exception near Miss Aimee's sealed strength. Mag remains active through the community's confrontation and later MBO response, carrying instructor authority into a genuine field danger rather than existing only in classroom exposition.
