Zhang Ke

Zhang Ke is a veteran spear fighter of the Fire Hammer Squad and one of Luo Feng's first wilderness teammates. A Tiger Fang Squad ambush costs him an arm, making his injury one of the personal consequences that turns Luo Feng's rivalry with that squad into a lasting vendetta.

Biography

Fire Hammer Squad and the ruined arm

Zhang Ke welcomes the new fighter Luo Feng into the Fire Hammer Squad and helps teach him how real monster hunts differ from military tests. During their first urban battles he follows the Wei brothers' defense and drives his alloy spear through a staggered lion mastiff, contributing disciplined teamwork rather than chasing individual glory. He also scouts from elevation and alerts the group to targets, helping Luo Feng survive his first expedition. (Chapters 40–45)

The Tiger Fang Squad later ambushes them with armor-piercing fire. A round destroys Zhang Ke's right shoulder and arm, leaving him helpless while the enemy closes in. Luo Feng reveals his spirit-reader power to save the squad, and Zhang Ke immediately helps assess how that strength changes their chances. His permanent disability becomes shared evidence of the attackers' cruelty and strengthens the squad's resolve to seek justice. (Chapters 49–55)

Zhang Ke remains part of the squad's social circle after retiring from active wilderness combat. Because of Luo Feng's growing resources, he eventually receives rare medicine that restores the missing arm; observers later see him with both arms intact. The healing repairs his body, but the corpus does not show him returning to the wilderness or gaining a higher rank. (Chapters 95–96 and 174)

Appearance and personality

No detailed fixed appearance is supplied. Zhang Ke is sociable and laughs easily with the squad, yet remains attentive in battle. After his injury he can still joke about the impossibly expensive elixir that would heal him, making his later restoration a concrete consequence of the loyalty he helped build with Luo Feng. Abilities and progression

Zhang Ke is a warlord-level close-combat fighter specializing in an alloy spear. He attacks effectively after shield-bearing teammates create openings and has enough wilderness experience to assess monster and fighter ranks. Losing an arm ends his demonstrated combat career; medical restoration is not a self-healing ability, and no later technique or breakthrough is established. (Chapters 40–55 and 174)

Relationships

• Luo Feng: Zhang Ke helps welcome him into the squad; Luo Feng later saves his life and supplies the means to restore his arm.
• Gao Feng: His captain, who coordinates Zhang Ke's spear attacks and supports him after the injury.
