Arcturus

Arcturus Blaze is the former Dragon Lord of Yrniel, a physically dominant Divine Stage cultivator whose fierce attachment to his family's pride turns his early interest in Nux Leander into a destructive vendetta. His campaign against ExceedoGenesis costs the Dragon Continent much of its strength and ends with Arcturus becoming the very opponent's hidden slave.

Biography

From fellow ruler to personal enemy

Arcturus first appears among Yrniel's assembled rulers as the imposing head of the Dragon Continent. Around his peers he is sociable and informal: he laughs at the familiar exchanges between the leaders, enjoys remarkable battles, and approaches Nux after the Ceremonial Union Clash to ask how he became so strong. That admiration reflects Arcturus's appetite for worthy combat, but it also exposes the pride beneath it. When Nux defeats the Seven Heroes and nearly kills and publicly humiliates Arcturus's son Vedier, Arcturus intervenes in the duel despite Alaric's later insistence that Vedier had accepted its risks. Vyriana subdues Arcturus and warns that another interference could leave the Dragon Continent needing a new lord. (Chapters 969–990 and 1037–1044)

The warning does not settle the grievance. Arcturus later barges into Nux's room and pressures him to reveal the identity of the Devil who fought the Heroes. Nux refuses because the Devil is under Vyriana's protection, while Arcturus frames that refusal as choosing the wrong side. Alaric challenges Arcturus's attempt to turn Vedier's near-death into grounds for pursuing someone outside the duel, but Arcturus leaves Nux with a threat. What began as excitement over an exceptional younger cultivator has therefore become a conflict driven by injured authority, family loyalty, and Arcturus's refusal to accept humiliation. Revenge and war with ExceedoGenesis

Arcturus escalates by sending five Divine Stage Dragons to seize Skyla and draw out Nux. Their failure deepens rather than checks his anger: he declares that he wants Nux and his wives to experience despair, while Ignatia argues that Vedier's injury occurred in a lawful duel and that further action risks Vyriana's retaliation. Once ExceedoGenesis publicly declares every Dragon aligned with him an enemy, Arcturus treats the response as an intolerable challenge to Dragon authority. He rejects both Ignatia's restraint and Alaric's warning that the campaign could destroy the old Vampire–Dragon relationship. When Ignatia continues to question him, Arcturus has his own wife bound with the Shackles of Eternity and sentenced to a century in the Infernal Void Prison. His choice secures obedience in the moment, but demonstrates that vengeance has overtaken both partnership and prudent rule. (Chapters 1171–1175)

Arcturus then backs Soren Thorn's plan to bait Nux through the Ashenhelm Clan and deploys a vast Dragon force against the Lust State, where the attack kills large numbers of demons and forces ExceedoGenesis to evacuate its allies. He later considers allowing the matter to end if Soren can kill Nux in a formal challenge, yet continues to surround the battlefield with Divine Dragons and threatens the abandoned Elven Kingdom, Feline City, and Lust State if Nux escapes. Nux turns those preparations against him: many of the Dragons have already been captured and enslaved, while Lyriana openly protects Nux's family. By then Arcturus's attempt to defend Dragon prestige has fractured his alliances, weakened confidence in his rule, and given his enemy both a moral grievance and the manpower for a counterattack. Defeat and concealed servitude

When Caesar reduces the conflict to a duel, Arcturus accepts a prohibition on his Law of Self because it offers a direct chance to avenge Vedier. Even under that restriction, his speed and physical power initially overwhelm Nux: he catches Nux's opening punch, tears off his arm, and destroys clones carrying most of Nux's strength. Nux answers by making the clones resemble Vedier and accuse Arcturus of failing him. The tactic exhausts Arcturus's self-control until he abandons the duel's focus and lunges for Amaya, allowing Lyriana to restrain him while his Law remains sealed. Faced with death, Arcturus accepts Nux's offer of a Slave Seal in exchange for the prospect of fighting him again once Nux reaches the Divine Stage. His desire for a future rematch preserves his life but surrenders the independence and authority he had gone to war to defend. (Chapters 1253–1258)

The world is allowed to believe that Arcturus died, and Ignatia begins arranging succession on the weakened Dragon Continent. In secret, Nux's upgraded Slave Seal gives him complete control and permits him to overwrite Arcturus's personality. Arcturus appears beside Nux to cow the remaining Dragons during compensation negotiations, serves as reserve force when Nux enters dangerous territory, and is made to spar with Lyriana so she can experience a serious Divine Stage battle. Later references still identify him as Nux's slave; the supplied corpus establishes no recovery of his autonomy or former throne. (Chapters 1259–1261, 1273–1275, 1289, and 1609)

Appearance and personality

Arcturus is an exceptionally tall, heavily built man, described at his introduction as roughly 2.3 meters tall. He has sharp, handsome features, long red-brown hair, golden eyes, two red horns, red scales covering his powerful body, and a naturally fierce, strict expression. Even in humanoid form, his size, scales, and overbearing aura make his Dragon nature immediately apparent. (Chapters 969 and 1145)

He is jovial with old peers and openly delights in strong younger fighters, but his admiration is conditional on his pride remaining intact. Arcturus is impulsive, battle-hungry, and prone to allowing anger to override strategy; Nux repeatedly exploits that trait through insults and illusions of Vedier. His loyalty to his son is genuine, yet it becomes possessive vengeance rather than protection, and his concept of rulership demands obedience even from Ignatia, whom he calls the wife he respects while ordering her imprisonment. He can still make pragmatic bargains—accepting the restricted duel and later the Slave Seal to secure a future fight—but those choices remain shaped by his fixation on personally defeating Nux. Abilities and cultivation

Arcturus is an incomplete Divine Stage body cultivator and was regarded as the strongest incomplete cultivator Nux had encountered. His cultivation concentrates overwhelming power in his Dragon body, while his formed but unnamed Law of Self creates a categorical advantage over cultivators who have not formed Laws. The corpus demonstrates the Law's pressure and defensive importance but does not explain its concept or give it a distinct name.

Divine Stage cultivation and Law of Self

Arcturus can release enough pressure through his Law and aura to immobilize or overwhelm substantially weaker cultivators; before Nux's later growth, being caught in even an incomplete Divine's aura prevents him from moving or activating his abilities. Among other Divine Stage rulers, Arcturus's aura is strong enough to make many of their legs tremble, and Alaric observes that he has grown stronger since their last spar. These effects are demonstrated expressions of Divine Stage authority, but the source does not establish a unique activation ritual, duration, or specialized Law effect beyond pressure, control, and reinforcement. The Law is also his clearest point of dependence. Caesar seals it to make Arcturus's duel with Nux possible; without it, Arcturus retains terrifying physical strength but can be restrained by Lyriana's Law and cannot resist even an ordinary Divine Stage cultivator on equal metaphysical terms. Dragon physique and close combat

As a body cultivator, Arcturus specializes in speed, strength, durability, and direct physical violence. With his Law sealed, he still catches Nux's sudden opening strike effortlessly and tears off the attacking arm; even Nux's Zenith Flow cannot make his body react quickly enough to Arcturus's movements. He rapidly destroys numerous clones stated to possess eighty percent of Nux's strength, showing that the advantage is sustained rather than confined to one surprise attack. His chief combat limitation is psychological rather than physical: grief and rage make him waste effort against endlessly replenished clones, and the Vedier impersonations eventually provoke him into attacking Nux's family instead of maintaining the duel. Arcturus can transform into a roughly thirty-meter Dragon whose scale and mass allow him to crush Lyriana's ice spikes and take flight beyond their reach. In that form he can gather ambient Mana at his mouth and release it as a concentrated energy attack. When Lyriana counters one such discharge, the collision destroys Nux's observing clone and leaves a crater about one hundred kilometers wide even though she contains much of the damage. This ranged output carries a severe cost: because Arcturus is a body cultivator, forcing that much Mana into an external attack exhausts the Mana reinforcing his body and leaves him extremely weak until it recovers. Relationships

• Nux Leander: Arcturus first regards Nux as an exciting young fighter, then pursues him over Vedier's humiliation and near-death. Their feud becomes a war, but Arcturus ultimately accepts Nux's Slave Seal for the chance of a future rematch and remains under his complete control.
• Ignatia Blaze: Ignatia is Arcturus's strongest wife and former second-in-command. He acknowledges both respect and their long marriage, yet imprisons her when she opposes his revenge campaign, turning their political partnership into one of his campaign's earliest casualties.
• Vedier Blaze: Vedier is Arcturus's son and the emotional center of his grudge against Nux. Vedier's defeat, humiliation, and near-death drive Arcturus to interfere in the duel and later target Nux's family; Nux exploits that attachment by giving his clones Vedier's appearance and voice.
• Alaric Sky: Alaric initially treats Arcturus as an old friend and fellow ruler. Their relationship deteriorates when Alaric refuses to support retaliation outside Vedier's duel and warns that Arcturus's war threatens generations of Vampire–Dragon ties.
• Lyriana Frostwillow: Lyriana begins as a fellow world leader, later protects Nux from Arcturus, restrains him once his Law is sealed, and eventually spars with him after both have passed through Nux's control.
• Skyla Leander: Arcturus orders Divine Dragons to seize Skyla as leverage against Nux. Her rescue triggers ExceedoGenesis's open declaration of war and makes Arcturus's attack on Nux's family the decisive escalation of their feud.
