Alaric

Alaric Sky is the Vampire King, the strongest being on the Blood Continent, and one of Yrniel's leading Divine Stage cultivators. Gentle in manner but overwhelming in presence, he protects both his kingdom and his extended family while repeatedly choosing the survival of Yrniel over pride or factional escalation.

Biography

The Bloodheart request and a suspicious clan leader

Alaric becomes involved with Nux when the Bloodheart House requests permission and resources to hunt ten thousand 10-star beasts. Because the scale could expose the house to serious consequences, Alaric questions whether Melia or her family is being exploited by an unregistered clan led by an Emperor. Concern for his niece brings him to the Bloodheart estate, where he reconciles with his sister Ambrosia after missing her Centuria and meets Nux's clan directly. His protectiveness is genuine, but his investigation is rash: suspecting that Nux may be connected to the Ancestral Order, he forcefully enters and dominates the younger man's Mind Space without permission. (Chapters 781–783)

Ambrosia warns that such interference could damage Nux's future path, and Alaric apologizes rather than invoking his rank. He then asks what position Melia will hold and evaluates the clan through the roles its members have chosen. Amaya's competence and the unity around Nux convince him that the group has real potential. Though the decision is framed through Melia's welfare rather than unconditional trust in Nux, Alaric permits the relationship to proceed and later participates in the clan's public union celebrations. (Chapters 783–785 and 969–1000)

Friendship tested by Arcturus's revenge

Alaric receives Arcturus as an old friend and initially accompanies him when the Dragon Lord questions Nux about the Devil. Alaric keeps the meeting civil, reminds Nux that raw confidence should not become arrogance, and acknowledges that they are asking him for information. When Arcturus proposes targeting the Devil's loved ones, however, Alaric refuses to endorse the tactic and calls him petty, showing that friendship does not excuse every act. (Chapters 969, 1145–1147)

The disagreement becomes a crisis after Arcturus attempts to seize Nux and threatens ExceedoGenesis. Alaric warns that the Dragon Lord's behavior could ruin relations between Vampires and Dragons and arrives with Divine Stage Vampires when confrontation appears imminent. His goal is deterrence rather than a head-on war: a full clash between the two races could destroy Yrniel, and later explanation makes clear that he would have remained neutral rather than allow that outcome. He nevertheless cooperates with Amaya's plan to appear ready for battle, creating enough danger to force intervention from the Ancestral Order. (Chapters 1174–1175, 1182–1184, 1210–1211, and 1237)

Alaric also passes information about Arcturus's proposed settlement to Nux's side and pointedly avoids the Dragon Lord's gaze when Nux reveals that knowledge. He then watches Nux expose himself as the Devil and turn most of Arcturus's own force against him. When their auras threaten the continent, Alaric prepares to intervene but is rendered powerless with the other Divine cultivators by higher authorities. His approach ultimately preserves the Vampires without turning a family dispute into a world-ending racial war. (Chapters 1241–1253)

Yrniel's recovery

Alaric remains king through the Mana Apocalypse. The corpus does not detail his individual administration during the crisis, but at its end he observes the Vampires from his castle and senses normal mana return. His smile reflects relief not only for his own people but for cultivators across Yrniel, whose lives and family lines had been threatened by the loss of cultivation. This is his latest on-page state: alive, still ruling, and witnessing Yrniel heal. (Chapter 1824)

Appearance and personality

Alaric has long white hair, red eyes, pale skin, and a refined face with feminine features. He looks harmless, gentle, and kind, and his calm voice is described as soothing. That presentation does not lessen the force of his presence: even an unintentional gaze suppresses Nux, while enemies of the Blood Kingdom fear him and its supporters regard him as the kingdom's backbone. (Chapters 781–782)

He is affectionate and playful with Ambrosia and Melia, yet becomes authoritative when their safety or the kingdom is at stake. Alaric can admit fault, as shown by his apology after entering Nux's Mind Space, and he distinguishes loyalty from blind indulgence in his arguments with Arcturus. His defining political trait is restraint. He will threaten retaliation and display force, but he repeatedly calculates whether escalation would destroy the world he is meant to protect. (Chapters 782–785, 1145–1175, and 1237)

Abilities and cultivation

Peak Divine cultivation and the Law of Self

Alaric is a Peak Divine Stage cultivator and the strongest being on the Blood Continent. The narration states that, in open sunlight, the Dragon Lord is the only Yrniel ruler generally placed above or willing to face him; underground, where sunlight cannot reach, Alaric is treated as the world's strongest combatant. This establishes sunlight as a comparative limitation on his vampire power, but the corpus does not quantify the reduction or show a technique that removes it. His exact cultivation method, bloodline progression, and conventional combat arts are not supplied. (Chapter 781)

He possesses a Law of Self strong enough to protect him from Arcturus's released pressure when other Divine cultivators struggle to stand. Its concept, acquisition, activation, and full applications are not explained, and the scene demonstrates passive or immediate protection rather than an unlimited defense. Arcturus's later power increase leads Nux to doubt that Alaric could defeat him directly, so Alaric's reputation should not be treated as proof of superiority in their latest comparison. (Chapter 1253)

Mind Space domination and vampire traits

By meeting Nux's gaze, Alaric draws him into a shared Mind Space represented as an expanse of blood. Because of the difference in strength, Alaric controls the space, reads Nux's dominant thoughts, conceals himself from Nux's senses, and makes outside time appear stopped or infinitely slower. He explicitly says he cannot read memories or physically harm Nux there. The target returns exhausted, weak, and suffering severe head pain; Ambrosia warns that dominating a much weaker mind may affect its future path. Eye contact is the demonstrated trigger in this instance, but the corpus does not establish range, reuse interval, or whether the blood-filled form is required. (Chapters 782–783)

Alaric can transform between a bat and humanoid form, move fast enough to cross a room and embrace Ambrosia before she or Orpheus reacts, and resist her attempts to push him away. These are demonstrated vampire and physical applications, but no named combat variant is given. His perception is formidable rather than infallible: he recognizes Nux as unusual and a Complete Cultivator, yet does not detect Nux's concealed Vampire bloodline when they first meet. (Chapters 782–783 and 962)

Relationships

  • Ambrosia: Alaric is Ambrosia's elder brother. Their teasing argument over her missed Centuria gives way to affection, while her willingness to rebuke his intrusion into Nux's mind shows that family closeness does not erase disagreement. (Chapters 781–783)
  • Melia: Melia is Alaric's niece and the reason he investigates ExceedoGenesis. He presses Nux about her standing in the clan, later supports her union, and remains openly eager for her visits. (Chapters 781–785, 973–1000, and 1136–1138)
  • Nux: Alaric begins with suspicion and violates Nux's mental privacy, then apologizes and comes to recognize his clan's potential. He later tempers both Nux's arrogance and Arcturus's aggression while covertly helping create a settlement. (Chapters 782–785 and 1145–1253)
  • Arcturus: The two rulers are old friends and near peers. Alaric welcomes Arcturus warmly but opposes attacking loved ones and refuses to let their friendship drag Vampires into a destructive war. (Chapters 969, 1145–1175, and 1237–1253)
  • Orpheus: Orpheus is Alaric's brother-in-law and a trusted Bloodheart leader. Their conversations combine family familiarity with political scrutiny, especially when Alaric investigates the enormous beast hunt. (Chapters 781–785)

Items

Alaric uses a communication artifact during the dispute with Arcturus and presents a wedding gift during Nux's ceremonial union, but the corpus does not identify a distinct named personal item or explain any unique artifact-derived power. His demonstrated Mind Space and Law of Self effects are innate cultivation abilities, not item functions. (Chapters 1000 and 1174–1175)
