Sarah

Sarah Ousborne is Great General Garret's wife and the mother of Alexa, Emily, and Leah. Once a battlefield veteran and guild member, she becomes responsible for preserving her family and household after Garret's failed Wanid campaign leaves them exposed to his enemies in the Haca Dynasty.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Sarah senses that something may have happened to Garret shortly before Lux infiltrates her residence to arrange an evacuation. She initially wants to retaliate after learning that Lux caused her husband's defeat and loss of rank, but she listens to Garret's warning and suppresses her anger. Once told that Ronan and several High-Rankers have reached the capital, she orders her daughters to prepare and insists that no family member be left behind (Chapters 617, 619).

Ronan exploits Garret's apparent death, incapacitates Sarah with a surprise speed-enhanced attack, and attempts to assault her. Lux and Barca interrupt him, after which Sarah helps coordinate an escape that includes not only her daughters but also the maids, guards, and retainers who remained loyal to the household. Her refusal to save only herself turns the evacuation into the preservation of Garret's wider community rather than a narrow royal extraction (Chapters 620, 621).

Sarah reunites with Garret in the Wanid Kingdom and accepts that the family must begin again under Lux. She joins Heaven's Gate, reacts with astonishment to its exceptional buffs and monster members, and watches Leah form a contract with the Baby Slime Holly. Although the Haca household has lost its former position, Sarah's family and retainers remain together, giving her a secure new home within the guild Garret has sworn to serve (Chapters 623, 624, 630, 631, 633).

Appearance and personality

Sarah is a beautiful woman whose gentle exterior contrasts with a veteran's readiness to fight. Her daughters are described as resembling her, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is perceptive, fiercely protective, and capable of restraining anger when her family's survival requires clear judgment. Even under immediate threat, she refuses to abandon Emily or the household servants, revealing that she defines family broadly through loyalty as well as blood (Chapters 617, 619, 621, 630).

Combat and household abilities

Sarah is explicitly a C-Ranker, a veteran of the battlefield, and a former member of a Mithril-ranked guild. Her instinct after recovering from unconsciousness is to summon a weapon, but Ronan's prepared speed enhancement lets the High-Ranker move behind her before she can overcome him, establishing the limits of her rank against stronger opponents. After joining Heaven's Gate, her demonstrated role is household leadership rather than frontline combat, and the corpus gives her no named technique (Chapters 619, 620, 621, 631).
