Tauric

Tauric is the First Monk of Skia and a leading hero of Alphen's surviving coalition. A powerful healer and mace fighter, he becomes the coalition's psychological center when Melody and Kang Woojin are absent, balancing faith, civilian survival, and resistance to would-be protectors who seek control. (Chapters 77–87)

Biography

Skia's monk in the Alphen coalition

Tauric first appears escorting the few survivors of a destroyed hidden village while Vesics pursue them. He chooses to protect the children rather than make an easier stand, heals his own wounds while reducing the pursuing monsters, and prepares to die rather than abandon the group. Graham argues that Alphen needs its best remaining healer alive, but Tauric accepts death if Skia has ordained it. Woojin's army unexpectedly saves them; believing the Immortal still an enemy, Tauric charges through tears, is brutally defeated, and only accepts the changed alliance after Melody heals the party and proves her Holy Power. Old grievances continue to shape his caution. Tauric remembers Woojin once pulling Skia's Holy Item from his feet and repeatedly challenges the Immortal's renewed search for divine relics, fearing that an alliance is being used to strip Alphen's gods. When enemy Lords assemble near Sauraus Mountain, however, Tauric takes leadership in the absent Holy Maiden's place. He gathers the heroes, weighs retreat against the loss of their only future, and orders a final defense around the Colony rather than abandon the population and World Tree. As the coalition's most influential representative, Tauric later negotiates compensation for Earth forces but defers final territorial decisions until Woojin returns. When Daken Guild tries to replace alliance with domination, Tauric rejects its claim to protect Alphen, raises his fists, and attempts to prevent an internal conflict without surrendering coalition autonomy. Daken imprisons him and the other heroes, but Woojin frees them; Tauric immediately returns to stabilizing the ongoing battle rather than remaining consumed by the betrayal. (Chapters 86–87)

Appearance and personality

Tauric is a bald, muscular man who fights with a mace. Prayer and combat power can make his muscles swell beneath his clothing while radiant pink light surrounds him. His rough appearance contrasts with an openly compassionate disposition: he carries children, smiles to reassure refugees, cries at reunions, and treats duty as a religious calling. He is stubborn about sacrifice but capable of careful negotiation, and his faith does not prevent him from fearing that a wrong decision may condemn thousands. (Chapters 77, 82, and 86)

Abilities and class

As Skia's foremost Monk, Tauric combines considerable physical strength with Healing magic. He kills Vesics with mace blows, projects light around fleeing civilians, heals his own injuries in combat, and is described as the coalition hero most capable of replacing the missing Holy Maiden's healing. Woojin still overwhelms him in a direct contest of strength, and a severe beating knocks him unconscious, establishing a clear limit against the Immortal. (Chapter 77)

Prayer produces a pink aura and physical expansion, but the text does not name the technique or quantify its duration and cost. Tauric also benefits from Skia's Boots, which allow him to run without exhaustion; that endurance is equipment-derived rather than proven to be an innate Monk ability.
