Qian Bian

Qian Bian, also rendered Qianbian, is a Northern tournament competitor whose body and Discipline have been fused with liquid-metal technology. The conversion gives him a changing arsenal and destructive output above what his formal Ninth Level sixth-rank score suggests, but it also leaves him partly human and without a clear path to Paragon.

Biography

The convert reaches his goal

Qian Bian reaches the tournament quarter-finals, the goal he set before entering, and treats the remaining matches as opportunities to improve. Against Jiang Yuan, he opens aggressively to prevent the necromancer from completing curses, transforms through cannon and fighter configurations, and fires a Mass Energy Discharge powerful enough to soften the arena floor. Jiang Yuan’s substitute puppet survives the attack and buys time to summon the Malefic Wyrm; the Terminator removes Qian Bian from the ring just before the creature can consume him. Eliminated by the Pharmacist

Qian Bian later faces the Pharmacist. Her overwhelming offense denies him the time needed to change into weapon forms, and he falls after blocking seven attacks. Both defeats are regulated tournament losses rather than deaths, leaving him alive at his last appearance in Chapter 456. (Chapter 456)

Appearance and personality

Qian Bian is a classical-looking Easterner more than two meters tall, with a spiky yellow mohawk. During transformation his body becomes titanium white or flowing metal and can remodel itself into weapons or a complete aircraft. His great height is associated with the extensive conversion rather than merely ordinary build. (Chapters 443–444)

He is realistic about the tournament hierarchy, satisfied to reach the quarter-finals, and willing to learn from stronger opponents. In battle he is decisive and persistent, committing his largest attack early when delay favors the enemy and continuing after it fails. His terror after the wyrm nearly takes him reflects genuine danger rather than cowardice. (Chapters 443–456)

Liquid-metal conversion

Northern experiments fuse Qian Bian’s Discipline and body with liquid metal, producing adaptability, resistance, and integrated weapons. He can turn his arms into six-barrel laser cannons, form missile systems, become an artillery piece, and transform into a fighter jet. The technology raises his practical combat output beyond a normal Ninth Level sixth-rank Adept. (Chapters 443–444)

Heavy weapons and limits

His arsenal includes Pyroblast Missiles and Mass Energy Discharge, an extremely draining beam with destructive power said to exceed what even a peak-ranked Adept can normally match in raw output. Direct explosive force can still defeat the liquid-metal body, and his conversion does not fully integrate machine and self. The Pharmacist judges that forced half-human, half-machine development leaves no route to understanding protogenia, while opponents who deny transformation time can suppress his arsenal.
