Terminator

Terminator, whose personal name is Davis, is the leader of the Great Conclave and the Northern Alliance's foremost Adept. A converted human whose Force Discipline develops into a Domain of pure destruction, he begins as an imposing political rival to Skyfire Avenue but becomes one of humanity's principal commanders against the alien invasion. His defense of the North ultimately broadens into a defense of the entire species, ending in a deliberate sacrifice that destroys Queen's avatar and gives the surviving Paragons a decisive opening. Biography

The Great Adept Tournament

Davis enters the story as one of the Great Conclave's two true power holders, working with Huan Xue to stage the Great Adept Tournament while the North quietly pursues its own plans for Skyfire Avenue. As the host, he uses his personal prestige to make the event a galaxy-wide demonstration of Adept strength and to warn of the coming "Dire Era." His public severity is tempered by his affection for Jun'er: he lets her sit with him, gives her a better viewing helmet, offers practical advice about treating her blindness, and treats her confidence about her father's victories with grandfatherly amusement. When he and the Gourmet recognize her newly awakened prophetic Talent, Davis admits that another Eye of Tomorrow disadvantages the Conclave, yet refuses to hurt her and promises an escort out of Northern space because humanity's survival requires unity. (Chapters 392–407 and 431–484)

That restraint does not eliminate his loyalty to the North. After the tournament, he intercepts the Avenue delegation and demands that it surrender Jun'er, Jun Yongye, and Xuanyuan Shishi, judging their future value too great to let the East monopolize. He assembles the Epochrion, mechs, and Western Paragons to make the threat credible, but seeks capitulation without a battle rather than indiscriminate violence. Skyfire Avenue's hidden reinforcements turn the confrontation into a contest whose cost would fall on Luo itself. Once he realizes that the Avenue has removed Jun'er, that the sword spirits can escape, and that battle would gain him nothing while endangering Northern civilians, Davis suppresses his anger, orders the Easterners escorted away, and sends no pursuit. The failure humiliates him, but his decision prevents a political struggle from becoming a catastrophe before the common alien enemy arrives. (Chapters 486–490)

Loss, regret, and a change in alliances

The Clairvoyant's death strips away part of Davis's political and personal world. Huan Xue decides to leave the Great Conclave and return to Skyfire Avenue; although Davis pleads with her and fears the Avenue will reject her, he honors the promise that he would never prevent her departure. At the later vital-crystal auction, he comes to the East in person despite the risks of entering a rival organization's territory. His exchanges there reveal both his continuing belief that technology can unlock humanity's potential and his growing regret over the life he traded for power. He confesses that Huan Xue has long held a special place in his heart, accepts that she regards him as family rather than a partner, and deliberately provokes the Wine Master into finally acting on his own love for her before giving the couple his blessing. That personal acceptance accompanies a wider strategic shift. At the inter-Alliance war conference, Davis openly credits Skyfire Avenue's research, argues that the aliens' vital crystals must be denied to them and recovered for humanity, and supports coordinated defense. He then invites Lan Qing and Lan Jue to his private arena, sharing the origin of his comet-metal Astrum despite their organizations' history of rivalry. His spar with Lan Qing confirms that he needs an outside catalyst to reach Nirvana; the Harmonious Swords wielded by Lan Jue and Zhou Qianlin then tear through his Domain and give him the insight he lacks. Wounded but impressed, Davis withdraws to meditate and asks that the North and East continue working together. (Chapters 707–717)

The Northern catastrophe and Nirvana

While Davis is secluded, the alien home worlds surround and destroy the Terminator-class Bastion, seize the four planets it guarded, and push Northern society toward collapse. He emerges having achieved Nirvana, with enough longevity to lead for decades, yet treats that personal triumph as secondary to the emergency. Because the North needs a visible source of hope, he takes command of Tyrannosaurus, places Chu Cheng over Heron 2, and commits himself to the counterattack while candidly admitting that the Paragons cannot win alone. His faith rests on cooperation, Star Division, and the Clairvoyant's prediction that Lan Jue can guide humanity through the crisis. (Chapters 726–733)

Davis orders an all-out assault once allied forces arrive, personally taking responsibility for one occupied planet during desperate ground landings intended to find survivors and reclaim the worlds. The attempt costs the North heavily and ends in a forced retreat when the enemy turns the planets into traps. When Northern congress later refuses to send forces westward, Davis chooses humanity's survival over political obedience: he, Kang Hui, Chu Cheng, Tyrannosaurus, two fleets, and the Great Conclave's Adept army depart without approval. This is not blind aggression. Davis argues that a larger, obvious fleet would invite the aliens to flee and wage a ruinous mobile war, while a smaller but well-led coalition may preserve surprise. His former desire to eliminate Lan Jue has by then become explicit trust in the man the Clairvoyant named the child of destiny. (Chapters 733–752 and 764–766)

Liberating the occupied worlds

Within the combined armada, Davis accepts Lan Qing's command plan, yields sensitive Northern military information, and leads one of the Paragon strike teams. His judgment of the East has changed: rather than resist its ascent, he recognizes that its strength can lift humanity as a whole. He also learns the cost of Nirvana when universal protogenia begins consuming his life force whenever he uses his power, knowledge that strengthens his conviction that the aliens must be stopped before completing their evolution. Under Lan Qing's strategy, Davis and the Northern forces help break the alien line and infiltrate the occupied planets. (Chapters 765–791)

On Heaven's Light, Davis shields his companions with his own body while they attack the progenitor, holding three Nirvana-level avatars at bay for hours even as the hostile planet replenishes them. When exhaustion makes the position untenable, Satan sacrifices himself to cover the team's escape and entrusts Davis with protecting Mika and the Dark Citadel's succession. Davis accepts immediately, carries the survivors out, and returns with reinforcements rather than abandoning the mission. The episode makes the cost of their alliance personal: a former political rival dies to save his group, and Davis responds with grief rather than triumph. (Chapters 800–808)

The last defense of humanity

During the defense of Angel, Davis places his Titan manifestations between Star Division and an alien shockwave, then binds a colossal alien in close combat. His intervention turns the front and gives the exhausted soldiers time to recover. In the battles that follow, he repeatedly takes the most physically demanding assignments, holding multiple Nirvana-level enemies at bay and later facing one of the Infinite-level avatars alone while the other Paragons protect the Banishing Blades and the fleet. (Chapters 818–829 and 843–869)

Queen's avatar eventually overwhelms Davis and Chu Cheng. Bleeding from many wounds and forced to protect the younger Paragon as well as himself, Davis concludes that delay will leave him too weak to change the outcome. He asks Lan Jue to safeguard Chu Cheng and the North, kicks Chu Cheng clear, and activates an irreversible conversion that consumes his flesh and concentrates his body and spirit into a golden skeleton. The transformation raises him briefly to Infinite-level power. He tears through Queen's Creation and Destruction Domain, kills the avatar, and delivers its vital crystal to Chu Cheng before the last light leaves his remains. His primordial spirit dissolves before the later Immortal Realm can restore him, and Chu Cheng succeeds him as leader of the Great Conclave. Davis's final weapon had originally been devised against possible human enemies; using it instead for humanity completes his change from partisan guardian to species-wide defender. Appearance and personality

Davis is more than two and a half meters tall, with broad shoulders, a barrel chest, heavily muscled arms, dark skin, and coarse hair that stands up like needles. Metallic light plays across his body. Formal clothes do little to soften the impression: in a tailored suit he resembles an iron statue, and his hard eyes and thunderous unaided voice reinforce his physical presence. His body-linked Discipline preserves a younger appearance, although he is roughly as old as the Keeper. After reaching Nirvana, his converted body is described as having resolved the defects that previously separated it from a congenital Talent. (Chapters 392, 394, 640, and 823)

He is forceful, proud, and accustomed to command, but not simply cruel. Davis is fiercely loyal to the North and can use intimidation or coercion when he believes its future is threatened. At the same time, he repeatedly limits violence when civilians would pay the price, keeps his promises, and can acknowledge a worthy rival. His warmth toward Jun'er, honest regret over sacrificing ordinary life for strength, acceptance of Huan Xue's choice, and admiration for the courage of former enemies reveal a more tender and reflective character beneath his severity. His defining responsibility is the burden of being the North's symbol; even when he seeks personal advancement, he measures it against what his people need from him. Disciplines and abilities

Davis is a Force-aligned Paragon whose converted body, destructive protogenia, and close-combat specialization reinforce one another. He rises from Reflection of Heaven and Earth to Nirvana after the Harmonious Swords provide the catalyst he needs. The exact procedures that first transformed him into the Cyborg Weapon are not explained, so his established physical effects should not be taken as a complete account of his construction. (Chapters 395, 531, 714–717, and 732)

Converted body and physical force

Davis ascended to Paragon through deliberate transformation of his body. Even before Nirvana, his strength lets his punches feel like planetary impacts and draw surrounding matter toward their path. His converted physiology provides exceptional durability and healing: shallow sword wounds close rapidly, and his upgraded skin is described as tougher than a Bastion ship. It also has lasting costs. He cannot have children, and before his Nirvana breakthrough unresolved defects in his construction prevent his body from being equivalent to a naturally born Talent. Nirvana corrects those defects and greatly expands both his strength and the forms his power can take. (Chapters 712–716 and 823)

Apocalyptic Comet Domain

The underlying protogenia of Davis's Domain is pure destruction. Apocalyptic Comet breaks surrounding matter into disorder and feeds that ruin into the image of a dark celestial body. Its first phase, The First Apocalypse Descends, Ending the World, drives the comet forward as an extinction impact. Its second, Bringing Quiet to the Universe, collapses the comet inward and creates a vacuum-like pull intended to drag everything nearby into annihilation. Lan Qing counters the second phase by restoring rather than opposing the collapsing power, while Captus and Demortus can puncture or escape the Domain because their sword force severs protogenia. Davis states that a third phase exists but can be used only as a last resort; the corpus never demonstrates its mechanics. In training he constrains his Domain to protect the arena and withholds lethal force, so those spars do not establish its maximum range. (Chapters 713–716)

Comet-metal Astrum

About twenty years before his spar with the Lan brothers, Davis received an anomalous metal created by the collision of two comets. The metal emitted protogenia whose source remained unknown. Studying its changing pulses accelerated his cultivation, and after ten years he reached Reflection of Heaven and Earth. Once the material's protogenia stabilized, its benefit diminished. Davis fashioned its core into his Astrum and used the impure remainder in a cultivation arena capable of withstanding Paragon combat. The text establishes the metal's effect on his advancement but does not give the Astrum a separate name or fully explain how it operates in battle. (Chapter 712)

Titan and Nirvana transformations

At Nirvana, Davis can divide his power into a line of golden Titans, each roughly a thousand meters high, that link together as a defensive wall and strike in unison. When a massive alien lashes them, the forms melt into an adhesive golden substance, cling to the target, and recombine into a single dark-skinned figure more than ten thousand meters tall. Davis then grows spikes from the manifestation to anchor himself and fight the creature at close quarters. The technique is both defense and control: it absorbs a large-area shockwave, protects the human line, and physically occupies enemies too large for ordinary fighters. Queen of Heaven amplification can further increase his strength, allowing him to contain multiple Nirvana-level opponents, but universal protogenia consumes his life force whenever he exercises Nirvana power. Irreversible skeletal conversion

Davis's final measure channels the energy of his living body into his skeleton, destroying his flesh and leaving his spirit to sustain the result. The converted golden skeleton briefly displays Infinite-level force: its hands tear fissures through space-time, pass through Queen's Creation and Destruction Domain unharmed in their demonstrated clash, and split into a thousand copies that prevent her escape. The state cannot be maintained and costs Davis his life; once Queen dies, only a small inert skull remains. Later evidence identifies Davis as the foremost scientist in human conversion, working under an assumed name, and establishes that he installed this secret weapon before the alien war as a contingency against powerful human enemies. Its use against Queen is therefore both his greatest technical achievement and a deliberate redirection of that weapon toward humanity's survival. (Chapters 875–876)

• Huan Xue: Davis's longtime partner in leading the Great Conclave and the woman he loves. He honors her right to return to Skyfire Avenue, later accepts that she regards him as a brother, and helps push the Wine Master to act honestly toward her. (Chapters 392, 531, and 657)
• Lan Jue: Davis first sees Lan Jue as a dangerous Eastern talent and tries to contain the future he represents. Their rivalry becomes respect after the alien threat grows: Davis trusts the Clairvoyant's judgment of Lan Jue, uses their spar to reach Nirvana, and finally asks him to protect Chu Cheng and the North. • Lan Qing: Davis treats Lan Qing as a worthy peer, exchanges cultivation insight with him, and ultimately supports his joint-war strategy even over the objections of Northern leaders. (Chapters 708–714 and 765–791)
