Ying Wu Xie
Ying Wu Xie is a split soul of Spectral Soul created in the artificial Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique. Born only hours before the Battle of Yi Tian Mountain, he uses Lead Soul Into Dream and Change Soul to overturn Fang Yuan's victory, but loses the Sovereign Immortal Fetus Gu body he was meant to protect. His subsequent life moves through several borrowed or temporary bodies, first as Shadow Sect's fugitive leader, then as Fang Yuan's coerced subordinate, and finally as the surviving successor to Spectral Soul.
Biography
Birth at Yi Tian Mountain
Old Man Yan Shi creates Ying Wu Xie's body from dream realm with Become Real Immortal Gu and inserts a soul into it. The result is the Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique, an artificial “eleventh extreme physique” whose immense dream-path dao marks come with an eighteen-hour lifespan, continual memory loss, and automatic advancement every two hours. Ying Wu Xie wakes childlike and curious. Old Man Yan Shi names him, transfers knowledge to him, and teaches him Lead Soul Into Dream because Shadow Sect needs an immediate weapon capable of disabling enemies that conventional methods cannot stop. At Yi Tian Mountain, his inexperience coexists with an ability that can drop even a rank-eight Gu Immortal into sleep. As his body automatically reaches ranks seven and eight, he uses corresponding versions of Lead Soul Into Dream against Fang Yuan. Shadow Sect then employs Change Soul: Fang Yuan's soul is sent into the expiring dream body while Ying Wu Xie's soul takes Fang Yuan's former immortal-zombie body. Heaven's will and Fang Yuan's dream-path countermeasures disrupt the intended outcome. The dream body expires into a dream realm, while Fang Yuan escapes with the sovereign immortal body, leaving Ying Wu Xie alive but burdened by the central failure of Shadow Sect's plan. Fugitive master of a broken Shadow Sect
In Fang Yuan's old corpse, Ying Wu Xie inherits an identity whose Gu worms begin self-destructing and whose enemies include Heavenly Court. He gathers Tai Bai Yun Sheng, Hei Lou Lan, and Shi Nu, conceals the body exchange from those he can still command, and seeks Fixed Immortal Travel so the group can escape Central Continent and cross regional barriers. His priorities are rescue of Spectral Soul's main body and recovery of Shadow Sect, but he must first survive with mismatched cultivation, scarce Gu, and Heavenly Court's deductions closing around him. Repeated pursuit forces him to become more calculating than the newborn at Yi Tian Mountain. He refines Fixed Immortal Travel, recruits or binds allies, uses formations and Omni-directional Travel, and learns to spend Shadow Sect's remaining resources for mobility rather than a decisive confrontation. Purple Mountain True Monarch's return gives him a stronger leader and a prepared rank-seven Pure Dream body, but Shadow Sect continues to lose members and assets. At Reverse Flow River, Tai Bai Yun Sheng and Shi Nu die buying the others time. Later, Purple Mountain True Monarch's death transfers Shadow Sect's remnants and inheritances to Fang Yuan, leaving Ying Wu Xie without the independent cause for which he had been fighting. Fang Yuan's subordinate and Spectral Soul's successor
Fang Yuan subdues Ying Wu Xie's group and repeatedly treats Ying Wu Xie's soul and bodies as expendable strategic resources. After an incapacitating attack, Change Soul moves him into Fairy Cui Bo's already-stripped body, where soul-body incompatibility limits him. He nevertheless contributes soul-path knowledge, Burning Soul Bursting Luck, Pure Dream body transformations, and battlefield coordination. On Fang Yuan's order, he later self-detonates a temporary dream body to trap a rank-eight enemy, is recovered as a soul, and receives Future Self's borrowed elite rank-seven strength. His hatred of Fang Yuan is therefore forced beneath an alliance agreement while his continued usefulness depends on sacrificing pieces of the foundation inherited from Spectral Soul. During and after the Fate War, Fang Yuan abandons former subordinates when their value falls. Spectral Soul's return reverses Ying Wu Xie's allegiance: as a surviving split soul, he becomes the master acknowledged by Fairy Zi Wei and other soul-modified followers. Yet the main body's death leaves him despondent, and Fang Yuan's repeated victories have taught him fear as well as caution. He rebuilds by devouring captured immortal souls and accepting Soul Pacifying grotto-heaven's resources rather than recklessly provoking Fang Yuan. Heavenly Court later hunts the Shadow Sect remnants, and Ying Wu Xie and Fairy Zi Wei become trapped in heaven-path dream realms; Star Constellation cannot safely free him and instead preserves him because a living Spectral Soul clone remains useful. Appearance and personality
Ying Wu Xie's original body appears as a young, childlike Gu Immortal whose curiosity reflects a life measured in hours. Later bodies change his sex, path, and physical condition, so no single appearance persists across his identity. His early innocence gives way to urgency, scheming, and intense loyalty to Spectral Soul's cause. Losses make him adaptable but also fearful of Fang Yuan; by the postwar period, he tempers vengeance with the judgment that survival and patient rebuilding matter more than a predictable attack. Abilities and cultivation
Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique
The original physique is made from dream realm rather than ordinary birth. Its dense dream-path dao marks grant exceptional compatibility with dream methods and a time-driven cultivation rise, but the body is fundamentally consumable: it loses memories, exists for only eighteen hours, and finally self-detonates back into dream realm. Later prepared Pure Dream bodies let Ying Wu Xie's soul regain dream-path access, including effects capable of threatening rank-eight opponents, yet these are replacements or temporary states rather than a continuous personal rank. When such a body detonates, his soul may remain stranded in the resulting dream realm until another party retrieves it. (Chapters 1001, 1023, 1364, and 1631–1632)
Lead Soul Into Dream
Lead Soul Into Dream is the principal killer move Old Man Yan Shi implants in him. It sends a target's soul and awareness into dream, bypassing many ordinary defenses because dream-path countermeasures are rare. Its version depends on the cultivation of the active Pure Dream body: at rank seven Ying Wu Xie can affect Fang Yuan, and at rank eight he gains the corresponding stronger version. The move is not infallible. Fang Yuan escapes by repeatedly using Unravel Dream inside Star Constellation's comparatively accessible dream realm, and the technique becomes unavailable or mismatched when Ying Wu Xie occupies bodies without the required dream-path foundation and Gu set. Soul transfer and soul-path methods
As a Spectral Soul split soul, Ying Wu Xie can use Change Soul and has high, though formally unranked, soul-path attainment. Change Soul preserves identity through radically different bodies, but it does not transfer every cultivation advantage: Fang Yuan's rank-six corpse, Fairy Cui Bo's body after loss of its aperture, and prepared Pure Dream bodies each give different access and constraints. Incompatibility between soul and body can reduce control, while the death or detonation of a body may leave only the soul. Burning Soul Bursting Luck
Burning Soul Bursting Luck converts part of Ying Wu Xie's soul foundation into a sharp improvement in luck. His deep accumulated soul gives him enough material for several uses, allowing him to resist pursuit and improve chances during crises. The cost is permanent consumption of soul-path dao marks and immediate weakening, not a temporary expenditure that naturally resets. Four uses are estimated to exhaust the available foundation without outside recovery, so the move is a desperate strategic resource rather than routine enhancement. (Chapter 1405)

Spectral Soul Demon Venerable
Ying Wu Xie is a split soul and therefore a continuation of Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, but he develops as a distinct active identity across successive bodies. He begins as a tool created to protect the main body's plan, later fights to rescue that body, and after its death is treated by soul-modified followers as Shadow Sect's successor-master. The loss leaves him feeling like a lingering fragment, even while others expect him to rebuild Spectral Soul's cause. (Chapters 969–1001, 1968, and 2075)
Fang Yuan
Fang Yuan is first Ying Wu Xie's target, then the thief of the sovereign immortal body, then his coercive master, and finally the enemy he fears to provoke. Their Change Soul confrontation gives each the other's intended position, but Fang Yuan turns that defeat into control of Shadow Sect's surviving resources. Even after escaping his service, Ying Wu Xie measures plans against Fang Yuan's unpredictability and repeated ability to overturn superior forces. (Chapters 1006–1031, 1363–1450, and 2075)
Fairy Zi Wei
Fairy Zi Wei hunts Ying Wu Xie while leading Heavenly Court, then becomes his most capable subordinate after Spectral Soul modifies her soul. She supplies rank-eight force, deductions, and captured souls while addressing him as master. Their alliance survives Spectral Soul's death and Heavenly Court's pursuit, and both are eventually trapped together in heaven-path dream realms. (Chapters 1052–1095, 1968–2075, and 2307–2313)
