Black Dragon Ball

The Black Dragon Ball is a medicinal reward used by the Demonic Academy to increase a cadet's internal energy. It is both an incentive for passing tests and a mechanism that rapidly raises the academy generation's baseline strength.

History

Academy Reward

The academy announces the medicine as a reward for cadets who pass its tests. Yeowun receives his first ball after the first test and consumes it with Submeng supervising the energy flow. Nano helps him absorb more of its power than would ordinarily be safe. (Chapters 9, 17, and 18)

Later Tests

Further passes award additional balls. Yeowun receives another after becoming a squad leader and later attempts to absorb two in succession. The strain tears blood points that Nano must repair, showing that the medicine's stored energy remains dangerous even to an unusually capable user. (Chapters 100, 103, and 104)

A Stronger Academy Generation

Other cadets—including Bakgi, Chun Mukeum, and Chun Yuchan—also consume the medicine, which materially changes the strength of later academy contests. The same name refers to multiple standardized pills rather than one unique surviving object. (Chapters 64, 79, and 86)

Abilities and properties

• A standard ball is intended to supply roughly twenty years of internal energy under controlled absorption. (Chapters 17 and 104)
• Its formulation prioritizes stable absorption, but taking excessive energy remains physically dangerous. (Chapter 104)
• Nano's healing and detoxification allow Yeowun to extract unusually high benefit and remove developing resistance. (Chapters 17 and 104)
