Slit
Slit is one of the last active Ironfang elites of the Lupus Pack. Small in stature but trusted to guard Ruin City's castle and lead field units, he combines werewolf strength with the Eclipse Blades. His defeat by Gary Dem forces him to reassess the Howlers, and he later joins them rather than remain an isolated Omega.
Biography
The Ironfang assault on Slough
Slit enters the war as a trusted castle defender and one of the few wolves who knows the Lupus Pack's real objective. During the invasion of Slough, he ignores the order to report Gary's location because Gary cannot transform and Slit believes the prestige of killing an Alpha is within reach. His Eclipse Blades let him disrupt coordinated Howler formations and overwhelm three AFA Altereds, but Gary accepts being stabbed to create an opening and then crushes Slit with his warhammer. Badly injured, Slit abandons his overconfidence, escapes under the Moon Dagger's concealment, and recognizes that the Howlers' earlier victories were evidence of real strength rather than luck. (Chapters 1386–1427)
When the Lupus Pack collapses, Slit hesitates at the edge of the surrender because becoming an Omega would leave him without a future and loyalty to a vanished force would preserve nothing. Seeing most survivors transfer voluntarily, he bows to Xin Clove and joins the Howlers. The choice gives his old training a new purpose: he helps investigate Unzoku's malformed werewolves, uses police records and tracking rather than a frontal attack to find them, and warns that uncontrolled killings could give vampires a reason to punish every werewolf. His abrasive plan succeeds, and he fights the creatures beside Marie, Austin, and Innu. (Chapters 1508–1734)
Loyalty after the final war
Slit remains close to Lupus during the battle with Unzoku, protecting his temporarily powerless former Alpha instead of seeking a more prestigious place on the front line. After victory, he and Luzen choose to accompany Lupus into hiding because they believe they owe him that loyalty even though his pack no longer exists. Slit remains able to carry messages between that exile and the Howlers; by Gary's wedding he delivers Lupus's warning about an Alpha–Luna pregnancy, leaving him alive as a link between the old leadership and the new family. (Chapters 1820–1849)
Appearance and personality
Slit is about five feet seven inches tall and visibly smaller than many werewolf fighters. He normally carries two daggers across his back and commands enough respect that other pack members make way for him. His transformed body grows fur, claws, and the powerful four-legged frame shared by the pack, but the corpus gives no stable fur-color description. (Chapters 1386–1387)
He is proud, combative, and quick to answer insults about his size. That confidence initially becomes a tactical fault when he pursues Gary instead of reporting him. Later, Slit's suspicion and willingness to use intimidation become useful investigative instincts, while his choice to surrender and protect Lupus shows loyalty that can survive a change of pack.
Powers and abilities
Werewolf physiology and Ironfang training
Slit can transform into a werewolf with enhanced strength, speed, senses, stamina, healing, claws, and quadrupedal movement. He follows scents across a city, detects details others miss, and can overpower trained Altereds even without drawing his weapons. His Ironfang status reflects combat and field experience rather than a separately explained supernatural class; the corpus never names his formal werewolf class or a class-specific skill. (Chapters 1386–1403, 1731–1734)
Eclipse Blades
The Dark Guild gives Slit two beast-weapon daggers with complementary effects. The Moon Dagger increases agility and, at night, makes him difficult for enemies to see by wrapping him in shadow. The Sun Dagger strengthens flame-based attacks and improves visibility during the day. Wielding both removes the visibility benefit but significantly amplifies their combined power, allowing Slit to cut tough Altered defenses, burn binding hair, and fight with greater speed and precision. (Chapters 1386, 1401–1403)
The blades enhance rather than create Slit's underlying strength. Their concealment fails against Gary's Hunter's Mark, and the daggers cannot withstand the momentum and Qi behind Gary's Demon-tier hammer without transmitting severe internal damage to Slit. Their exact energy source, recharge requirements, and latest custody after Slit joins the Howlers are not explained. (Chapters 1403, 1423–1427)
Relationships
Lupus
Lupus trusts Slit with the castle and sensitive war objectives. Slit later accepts that the old pack has ended, but does not discard the man who led it; protecting Lupus and following him into exile becomes a personal obligation rather than pack law.
Gary Dem
Slit underestimates Gary because the Alpha cannot transform during their first duel. The resulting defeat teaches him that Gary's human-form Qi, judgment, and equipment still make him dangerous, helping prepare Slit to accept the Howlers' authority after the war.
Innu and Marie
Slit bickers with Innu over strength and status, while Marie repeatedly prevents that rivalry from disrupting their mission. Their investigation shows his gradual integration: he still uses old-pack intimidation, but now applies it to a Howler objective and fights beside the people he once invaded.
Items
Slit's signature equipment is the paired Eclipse Blades, consisting of the Moon Dagger and Sun Dagger. They have no finalized standalone item page in the supplied inventory, and their custody after the wars is not explicitly resolved.
