Elanor

Elanor Evans is an AJ Entertainment manager and scout who produces Gary Dem's first AFA broadcast and recruits him for a documentary before his AFC debut. She is distinct from Eleanor Hamper, Kai's mother, whose earlier scenes were merged into her automated evidence brief.

Biography

Scouting Gary for AJ Entertainment

Elanor arrives at the AFA to supervise presenter Clem's first broadcast and assess Gary as both a subject and a potential recruit. She deliberately encourages an on-camera comparison between Gary and AJ's guards because confrontation will attract viewers, then recognizes that his extraordinary demonstration can sustain a larger feature. After securing Eddy's permission, she offers Gary a paid week-long documentary and manages the crew's visit to Slough, even advancing his fee when he chooses to spend it on local children. Her production decisions help turn his debut into a public event while giving AJ access to an emerging star. (Chapters 609–612 and 619)

At AJ headquarters, Elanor remains the professional intermediary between company leadership, Gary, and the other performers. She shows deference to director Ash and, on Director Matthew's orders, summons the stars to a meeting without knowing he intends to coerce them. The performers survive Matthew's attack after Gary and Ash intervene. Elanor is expected to visit them afterward, but the corpus does not directly show her later career or reaction to the abuse within the company. (Chapters 626, 631–637)

Appearance and personality

Elanor's physical appearance is not described in detail. She has a confident presence and sharp, “eagle-like” eyes that constantly assess people and the scene around her. She is commercially astute and willing to manufacture harmless broadcast tension, but also reads Gary's charitable intent and makes an exception to standard payment practice. Powers and abilities

Elanor is not identified as an Altered and demonstrates no supernatural ability. Her relevant skills are talent scouting, live-production judgment, contract negotiation, crew management, and identifying moments that will generate audience interest. Her authority remains managerial: she answers to AJ's directors and does not know about Matthew's criminal plans before the performers are endangered. (Chapters 609–612, 626, and 631)
