Blue Fang Set

The Blue Fang Set is a full suit of legendary-tier Blue Arctic Wolf armour forged by Alex and given to Quinn Talen through Helen. Its Nitro Accelerate skill makes it Quinn's principal speed-focused armour across the Dalki war and early celestial conflicts. Alex later rebuilds the damaged pieces with a Volcanic Rocket Beast crystal as the Red Fang Set, after which Quinn adds a celestial mark before eventually replacing it with the God Slayer Armour. (Chapters 1049–1050, 1365–1368, 1923–1940, and 2256–2257)

History

Helen supplies crystals from legendary-tier Blue Arctic Wolves as a gift, and Alex forges them into matching armour. The beast's unusual crystals can become many kinds of equipment, so individual items are less specialized than some legendary gear. By creating multiple pieces, however, Alex discovers that their intended advantage is a coordinated set effect. Quinn first activates the completed armour while racing to stop a demi-god-tier moth beast, using its speed to end the battle without exposing the full range of his vampire and shadow powers. (Chapters 1049–1050)

The set becomes a repeatable tactical option rather than Quinn's only protection. He keeps alternative armour in shadow storage and changes equipment when Nitro Accelerate enters cooldown, allowing him to exploit its short burst without remaining in inactive metal for the rest of a fight. He uses that switching pattern during operations involving Richard Eno's island, Jim, Laxmus, the vampire settlement, Sil, and multiple celestial opponents. Its place in Quinn's arsenal is therefore defined by timing: he equips it when speed creates an opening, then replaces it when its penalty begins. (Chapters 1287, 1303, 1365–1368, 1766, and 1873–1876)

Repeated high-level battles eventually damage or destroy parts of the set. Quinn asks Alex to repair it with a demon-tier crystal from the Volcanic Rocket Beast, and Alex combines that material with the original Blue Fang equipment. The completed armour changes from silver with blue trim to black with bright red points and becomes the Red Fang Demon Tier Set. Its original speed identity remains, but the rebuild improves Nitro Accelerate and adds Nitro Casting. Alex disappears during the forging process, making the repaired set one of the last major pieces of equipment associated with his work. (Chapters 1883, 1923–1924, and 1939)

Quinn then spends 40,000 celestial points to mark all four Red Fang pieces. The upgrade preserves the existing active skills, adds resistance to celestial energy, and creates Celestial Blood Charge, which can reset or extend the armour's abilities by consuming blood, health, and celestial energy. This stage also removes an earlier incompatibility in which Quinn's celestial blood damaged the equipment. The marked Red Fang armour is thus a direct continuation of the Blue Fang materials rather than a separate unrelated set, even though the system gives its components new names and tier. (Chapters 1939–1940)

The lineage ends as Quinn's primary armour when he forges the first God Slayer Armour from several god-slayer crystals. He compares the new set's movement directly with Blue Fang's speed and adopts its much broader defensive and anti-celestial functions for the final war. The corpus does not state that the Red Fang pieces are destroyed at that moment, so “superseded” describes their latest confirmed role more accurately than “destroyed.” (Chapters 2256–2257)

Properties and use

The original set consists of a chest piece, shoulder guards, leg pieces, and boots. System inspection assigns the chest +20 to all statistics with 40 defence, the shoulders +10 to all statistics with 20 defence, the legs +30 stamina, and the boots +30 agility with 20 defence. The combined passive increase gives Quinn substantially greater physical performance despite lower per-piece defence than some emperor-tier equipment. These figures describe the original legendary set at its first use, not the later Red Fang or God Slayer armour. (Chapter 1050)

Nitro Accelerate converts the original armour bonuses into a concentrated speed burst. At first activation, Quinn's agility rises to 220 for two minutes. The skill then enters a one-hour cooldown during which every ordinary statistic supplied by the set is nullified. Quinn's Shadow Equip mitigates that penalty by letting him change armour almost instantly, but another wearer without storage and replacement gear would remain physically encumbered by an inactive set. The initial speed also exceeds Quinn's control enough that he overshoots the beast and strikes a tree, showing that acceleration does not automatically supply matching judgment. (Chapter 1050)

The rebuilt Red Fang version changes Nitro Accelerate to a 100-percent speed increase for two minutes with the same one-hour cooldown. Because the increase scales with Quinn's own speed rather than adding a fixed bundle of armour statistics, it remains useful as his natural physical level rises. Nitro Casting separately increases the rate at which he can release attacks for two minutes, extending the speed theme from body movement to techniques such as blood-aura attacks. The corpus presents the new function through system inspection and Quinn's planned applications; it does not establish that every possible power can be cast faster. (Chapter 1939)

Celestial marking gives every piece resistance to Quinn's celestial energy and some resistance to hostile celestial attacks. Celestial Blood Charge can spend half of Quinn's health to reset used active skills, but fails if his health is below ten percent. It can also extend an ability beyond its normal duration, consuming blood and celestial energy in proportion to the overtime. These costs make repeated acceleration possible without making it free, and the wording is particularly tailored to a bearer who possesses both celestial energy and recoverable blood. (Chapter 1940)

The Blue/Red Fang line remains speed-specialized. Its active windows help Quinn surprise opponents, reposition shadow or blood attacks, and compensate for enemies who can match his ordinary movement, but it does not supply unlimited duration, perfect control, or the broad self-repair and anti-celestial field later available from the God Slayer set. Damage still requires a master forger and new high-tier material until the armour is replaced. (Chapters 1050, 1303, 1365–1368, 1923–1940, and 2256–2257)

Associated characters

  • Quinn Talen: Quinn is the set's sole sustained wearer, using it for speed bursts across human, vampire, Dalki, and celestial conflicts before replacing it with God Slayer equipment. (Chapters 1049–1050, 1287–1368, 1766, and 1939–1940)
  • Alex: Alex forges the original Blue Arctic Wolf set, discovers its coordinated ability, and later reconstructs it as demon-tier Red Fang armour using a Volcanic Rocket Beast crystal. (Chapters 1050, 1923–1924, and 1939)
  • Helen: Helen provides the Blue Arctic Wolf materials as the gift that makes the original full set possible. (Chapters 1050 and 2256)

The set should not be confused with the later God Slayer Armour, which Quinn forges from different crystals and which receives its own system-recognized set identity. (Chapters 2256–2257)
