Alex
Alex Way is the Cursed faction's principal forger and the creator of much of Quinn Talen's equipment. He begins as a talented but poor academy craftsman whose limited access to materials keeps his public reputation below his skill. Joining Quinn gives him the resources to develop high-tier beast gear, while conversion into a Blood Fairy gives him the endurance and lifespan to continue the craft through the Dalki and celestial wars. During the creation of Quinn's celestial-blood guns, Alex's original body is consumed and his consciousness becomes bound to the weapons. He continues advising and forging through Quinn before Sil transfers that consciousness into a cloned body modeled on Muka. (Chapters 369, 583–604, 816–914, 1923–1940, 2075–2201, and 2367–2368)
Biography
Building the Cursed faction through forging
Quinn first finds Alex's name on a well-made barbed spear at the military academy. Other students describe Alex as a capable forger without a powerful background: he cannot make the highest-tier equipment because he cannot afford corresponding crystals and materials. Quinn judges the workmanship rather than the reputation and later seeks Alex out, beginning a partnership in which Quinn supplies rare resources and Alex turns them into practical gear. Alex's early motivation is professional as much as personal—he wants access to better work and recognition for what he can create. (Chapters 369 and 583–604)
Within the Cursed faction, Alex becomes an infrastructure specialist rather than only Quinn's private armourer. He produces coordinated sets for the main fighting force, maintains a forgery aboard the faction ship, and receives access to Quinn's secured training facilities. His armour materially improves the faction's performance during large battles because its members fight as a supplied unit instead of relying on whatever equipment they owned before joining. Quinn trusts Alex with blood crystals, demon-tier materials, and repeated upgrades, while Alex cautions that even the strongest fighter must protect himself rather than treating equipment as an afterthought. (Chapters 583–604, 692, 1043, and 1215–1310)
Alex's conversion into a Blood Fairy changes both his risks and his productive capacity. Vampire authorities consider the subclass dangerous because its blood is especially harmful to vampires, and Bryce attempts to execute Alex beside Quinn after exposing him publicly. Alex survives the settlement conflict and later converts the dying master forger Andrew into another Blood Fairy, choosing to save a colleague even though creating a second member could be interpreted as building an anti-vampire force. His wings, recovery, and long life let him work for extended periods and survive the millennium between Quinn's wars, but he remains a craftsman who needs combat training and equipment rather than becoming a front-line equal to Quinn. (Chapters 816–817, 866–914, and 1215)
Alex's most dangerous commission combines demon-tier crystals with Quinn's celestial blood. The blood becomes animate during the forging, pursues him through the room, and repeatedly tries to draw him into the weapon mixture. Alex continues because he wants Quinn to have equipment capable of surviving the coming fight, finishing the upgraded Red Fang armour and paired blood guns after days without normal rest. The final blood tendrils consume his original body; security footage shows the struggle, Quinn can no longer reach him through Shadow Link, and no physical Alex remains in the room. The event is initially treated as his death, but the guns contain his consciousness and let him speak directly into Quinn's mind. (Chapters 1923–1924 and 1928–1940)
Weapon-bound Alex remains an active collaborator rather than a recorded message. He selects and explains ammunition, warns Quinn during the fight with Erin, guides repairs and new forging through blood tendrils extending from the guns, and helps design the multi-crystal God Slayer Armour. Quinn supplies the physical labour while Alex controls or directs the technical process, so the resulting equipment is a joint construction rather than proof that Quinn independently surpasses him as a forger. The binding is also a limitation: Alex is attached to Quinn's equipment and cannot resume an ordinary independent life while the consciousness remains there. (Chapters 1973–1975, 2075–2077, and 2199–2201)
After the war, Quinn asks Sil to move Alex's consciousness out of the weapons. Alex refuses to inhabit an existing person's mind and instead chooses a cloned body modeled on Muka, explaining that centuries as a man made a female body an experience he wanted to try. The body is a clone, not Muka herself, and Alex remains the same consciousness with the same memories and craft. In that form Alex personally forges a god-slayer bracelet for Russ and prepares to support the expedition into Immortui's world. Chapter 2368 is the latest direct confirmation; the corpus does not explicitly describe Alex's condition after Immortui's death or establish whether a nest crystal ever made the clone permanent. (Chapters 2367–2368)
Appearance and personality
Alex is initially a human man whose physique becomes markedly stronger after conversion. As a Blood Fairy he has red wings, prominent muscle, and the stamina to work in intense heat for days; he also wears light self-made armour that allows him to forge without restricting movement. His latest body duplicates Muka's female appearance from head to toe. That appearance is an intentionally selected cloned vessel, not a disguise, possession of Muka, or evidence that the two characters share a mind. (Chapters 816, 1215, 1923–1924, and 2367)
He is excitable, anxious, proud of his work, and willing to take extreme risks for the perfect result. Alex names his hammer Betsy, worries that Quinn might punish him for exposing the Blood Fairy subclass, and becomes openly delighted when rare materials offer a new technical problem. Pride does not prevent cooperation: he equips ordinary faction members, accepts Quinn's combat judgment when choosing crystals, and converts Andrew to save his life. His humour and professional vanity survive bodily death, weapon binding, and the later change of body. (Chapters 816, 1215, 1923–1924, 2076, 2201, and 2367–2368)
Powers and abilities
Forging mastery
Alex can inspect beast and god-slayer materials, judge compatible crystals, design molds around a user's fighting style, predict likely active abilities, repair damaged gear, and upgrade existing equipment. His best-known work includes faction armour, Quinn's masks and gauntlets, the Red Fang set, blood guns, and technical direction for the God Slayer Armour. Skill and intuition remain essential even with advanced machinery: heat, mixture ratios, order, and timing can ruin a piece, and some processes cannot safely stop once begun. Alex still needs suitable crystals, metals, facilities, time, and physical labour; reputation alone cannot replace those inputs. (Chapters 369, 583–604, 1215, 1310, 1923–1924, and 2199–2201)
Blood Fairy physiology
As a Blood Fairy, Alex has greater strength, recovery, lifespan, stamina, red wings, flight, and distinctive blood. His blood is harmful to vampires and can give weapons an anti-vampire effect, while his aura can be released from the mouth in a Blood Breath-like attack. The subclass is dangerous enough that vampire law treats its concealment as a capital threat. Alex is not primarily a combatant, however: prolonged forging exhausts him, stronger blood constructs can restrain him, and his own attack only weakens rather than destroys Quinn's animate celestial blood. (Chapters 816, 866–914, 1215, and 1923–1924)
Consciousness within the blood guns
The celestial-blood forging transfers Alex's consciousness into the paired guns when his body is consumed. From there he communicates mentally with Quinn, perceives the work they perform together, manages blood tendrils that manipulate tools, and provides technical or tactical advice. This persistence is not ordinary Blood Fairy regeneration and does not preserve an independent body. The corpus does not fully explain whether Quinn's blood, the demon-tier crystals, Alex's subclass, or their combination caused the transfer. (Chapters 1923–1940, 1973–1975, and 2075–2201)
Clone-body life
Sil later uses consciousness-transfer abilities to place Alex in a purpose-made clone based on Muka. The vessel gives Alex independent movement and strong vampire-like physical capability, allowing direct forging again. Alex says clone bodies have a limited lifespan unless supported by a nest crystal, so the transfer solves confinement without proving permanent biological immortality. No source through Chapter 2545 confirms whether the later removal of vampirism changes this cloned vessel or whether Alex acquires the planned crystal. (Chapters 2367–2368)
Relationships
- Quinn Talen: Quinn supplies rare materials and trusts Alex to translate his fighting needs into equipment. Alex repeatedly risks himself for those commissions, then continues speaking and forging from within Quinn's weapons until Quinn arranges a new body for him. (Chapters 369, 583–604, 1215, 1923–1940, and 2075–2201)
- Logan Green: Logan supplies modern facilities and materials, discovers Alex's disappearance, and safeguards the dangerous forgery. Their complementary engineering and craft make Quinn's later equipment possible. (Chapters 1923 and 1928–1940)
- Andrew: Andrew is a senior forger whom Alex converts into a Blood Fairy to prevent his death. The decision demonstrates personal loyalty and spreads the subclass, while preserving another specialist for the Cursed faction. (Chapter 1215)
- Sil: Sil transfers Alex's consciousness from Quinn's equipment into a cloned body after the war. The ability changes Alex's vessel, not his identity or memories. (Chapter 2367)
- Muka: Alex chooses Muka's appearance as the model for the new clone with her reluctant consent. They remain separate people with simultaneous bodies; later observers' confusion comes only from the physical match. (Chapters 2367–2368)
Items
No personal item page is configured for Alex. Betsy, his traditional hammer, is a working tool, while the numerous weapons and armour pieces he creates generally belong to their commissioned users rather than remaining his personal inventory.
