Hector

Hector is an Altum-class Graylash officer and one of Owen's assistants. He handles faction diplomacy, security, and wartime communications, often voicing the practical risks behind Owen's more ambitious decisions. (Chapters 616–1192)

Biography

Representing the Graylash family

Hector accompanies Owen to negotiations with the former Crow faction and takes a seat beside him while the other Graylash members remain standing. His experience communicating with medium-sized factions lets him recognise Dennis, Linda, and Blip, although that same assumption leads him to mistake Blip for the group's current leader. When Owen considers supporting the Cursed faction, Hector gives him a silent warning about the risk without openly undermining him. (Chapters 616–618)

Later, Hector leads ten white-robed Graylash members and wears the green-trimmed uniform of the family's highest, Altum class. He supports intervention when a faction dispute reaches an impasse, calls Quinn's decision bold, and then manages visiting reporters. By politely ordering photographs of the Graylash base deleted, he prevents its layout from becoming intelligence for an enemy. (Chapters 688–730)

Supporting allies during the Dalki assault

As one of Owen's assistants, Hector is placed in charge of looking after the Crow faction, a responsibility that confirms his role extends beyond ceremony. When the Dalki later attack every Graylash planet at once, he reports the scale of the offensive and understands that Owen intends to move between worlds while each garrison stalls. Hector considers the plan nearly impossible in a prolonged war, yet his reason for following Owen is precisely Owen's refusal to abandon those worlds. He then asks the Cursed faction for reinforcements as Graylash shelters begin falling. (Chapters 955 and 1192)

Appearance and personality

Hector wears the Graylash family's white robes. His uniform has green trim and slit sleeves exposing his forearms, identifying him as Altum class. He is observant and security-minded, communicates concerns tactfully, and remains loyal even when he believes Owen's plan is dangerously demanding. His worry during the simultaneous Dalki attacks is visible in his sweating, but it does not prevent him from carrying out orders. (Chapters 617–618, 689, 730, and 1192)

Altum-class standing and command experience

Hector belongs to the highest of the Graylash family's three stated classes and is trusted to lead personnel, enforce faction decisions, supervise allies, and coordinate requests for military help. These roles imply substantial standing, but the corpus does not show him performing a named lightning technique, using Qi, or fighting directly. His individual combat mechanics, limits, and later progression therefore remain unstated. (Chapters 689–691, 955, and 1192)

Relationships
