Liu Ruchen

Liu Ruchen is the ancient Medicine King Sect master who leads his entire sect out of Xuanhuang and sacrifices his body to save its vessel from the Immortal Ruins. A concealed soul remnant later survives his recorded death. (Chapters 113, 609–610, 1018–1020)

Biography

The Medicine King Sect from Ancient Times

Foreseeing catastrophe, Liu Ruchen obtains the elders' consent to use the Medicine King True Cauldron as a world-crossing vessel toward a realm once visited by Sun Piaomiao. The Immortal Ruins pulls the expedition off course, and Liu Ruchen spends life essence and ultimately sacrifices his body with other elders to return the Cauldron and its sleeping disciples to Xuanhuang. Millennia later, Li Fan discovers that Liu's will concealed a surviving soul, coerces him into serving the Federation, and has Qiao Gong build an identical puppet body. Liu then emphasizes the sect's value in alchemy and herb cultivation to protect its people. (Chapters 113, 609–611, 1018–1020)

Appearance and personality

The corpus first preserves Liu Ruchen as a damaged body, recorded phantom, and frail soul rather than a stable living portrait. Qiao Gong's later puppet is made identical to his original body, but exact facial and clothing details are not fixed. Liu is cautious, responsible for his sect, willing to sacrifice himself, and politically adaptable when his disciples' lives are held hostage. (Chapters 609–610, 1018–1020)

Abilities and cultivation

Longevity arts, alchemy, and soul concealment

Liu Ruchen was an ancient Dao Integration cultivator and Medicine King sect master versed in the World-Saving Longevity Scripture, alchemy, and cultivation-realm records. His hidden soul survives bodily sacrifice and later possesses a purpose-built puppet that feels like his original body. The soul is initially too weak to maintain form, and the puppet restoration depends on Qiao Gong and Li Fan rather than a self-activated resurrection technique. (Chapters 609–610, 1018–1020)

Relationships

Liu San is Liu Ruchen's rescued orphan, personal disciple, retainer, and trusted administrator. Li Fan revives Liu but also controls the Cauldron, the disciples, and the conditions of his new body, making their alliance coercive. Qiao Gong is the artisan who gives his soul a new vessel. (Chapters 615, 1019–1020)

Items

  • Medicine King True Cauldron: Originally Liu Ruchen's sect vessel and command responsibility, it carries the Medicine King Sect through the void. Li Fan later refines its control core, so Liu no longer holds top custody after revival. (Chapters 113, 609–611, 1018–1020)
  • Heavenly Mechanism Puppet: Qiao Gong crafts this as Liu Ruchen's replacement body. It becomes his inhabited vessel rather than a separate artifact he carries. (Chapters 1019–1020)
